Adults don't realize that what happens in your childhood can effect every aspect of your life as you get older.

Down to the women you form relationships with. Richard Pryor bringing up was the reason he dated European women and trusted European men not realizing they were the reason for the disadvantages of his childhood. I believe His oversexualized childhood was also the reason he was bisexual and allowed his son to be molested by Paul Mooney. The dysfunction runs so deep it became normalized.

Well when you come from a group of people that were slaves in America that were never made whole with the 40 acres and a mule that we were promised to our ancestors so we could have possibly built some wealth and laws that would help protect black people at that time. Maybe they didn't have other ways of making money. What do you do? It wasn't too much a black woman could do back then. I'm not excusing it but it's the oldest profession in the world.

Richard Pryor was the most vulnerable celebrity I ever experienced in my lifetime. He never came off as anything but 100% genuine. Even when he would try to evade answers they would just tumble out of him. That is the very quality that made him a master onstage. Such a real human being he was. ✊🏾

Richard was a troubled, burden and traumatized man! It was a miracle he survived that long. No child or human being should ever have to go through what he had been through. May God continue to bless and rest his soul. Your childhood upbringing oftentimes determines your future. Peace, love and prosperity to all..

You can tell behind those jokes there are pains of his childhood. You can see he is struggling about his past whenever he speaks. Sad. No child should be raised this way. Luckily he used comedy for his way out of the hood.

4:26 as a Peoria resident for 15 years, working for DoorDash, working for a business where I travel around a lot, I agree with this statement…ish. The areas around downtown are in pretty rough shape. Downtown itself is a great area, which doesn’t make sense…but I digress. There’s a main road that runs west to east called US-150 , or War Memorial Dr. Us Peorians just call it War. Everything north of that road is a pretty amazing place to be. The best example would be east, approaching the river. Over by north south running prospect. The northern most part of prospect is a block away from Grand View Dr. Revered by teddy Roosevelt himself for its beauty. Now the north part of prospect is the main road of Peoria Heights, it’s almost like a second downtown. Everything there is simply bursting with energy. Many small businesses and good food. As you drive south, the beauty stops at war and prospect where the worst McDonald’s in the area is. As you pass War, you’ve entered some of the most crime riddled parts of the city

There's a sharp pain I see in his eyes after each "Joke" that is indeed a scar and deep revelation. But each time people just laughed. which was his desired outcome.but he was hoping someone really loved and understood him. After every joke the realization in his eyes that the his confessions of pain is intricately woven as only humor to everyone in the world is really piercing and heartbreaking stuff that's inexplicable really in feeling. but that was a very strong kid. His childhood shaped everything. His imaginations came true. He's sexuality, perception, relationships, habits and everything in-between was shaped from his exposure and experience as an infant. That Kid is a Genius of a Survivor. GahhhttttDammit Richard. Btw My Name is also Richard. Cliche 🤷🏽‍♂️

I have an album releasing in March, entitled “The Franklin Lennox Thomas Show”
I say that now, because I am proudly, introducing the new wave of “Rich” fans to one fan’s influence and downright idolatry of the way in which Richard Pryor expressed his pain, love and life through ART.
Why just comment on this now? Well, because, respectfully, I don’t wanna be labelled as someone who “just found him.” There’s not a THING wrong with someone who did, but as aforementioned...I didn’t. He’s inspired atleast a portion of EVERY YEAR of my life, since, say 2011, which was over five years after he passed, however it was when I found “Rich” and who “Rich” was.
I’ve been thankful for his influence (as aforementioned) atleast once, every year since....I like to think that I appreciate the path he single-handedly trail-blazed as much as anybody, ever. It inspired us all in unmeasurable ways.
Ok, I’m done here now. Stevey Owens -The Franklin Lennox Thomas Show....coming to you on all music platforms in March 2020
    Have a great night, jack
