Half of the Reputation album was produced by Max Martin and the second half was produced by Jack Antonoff who produced Lorde's ablum Melodrama. Jack also co wrote a few songs on the album that is why it sounds like Lorde.
what some people don't realize is that it's supposed to be half and half a different tone. track 1-track 7 are satirical, sarcastic, and giving off a "story". it's not supposed to be her. there are ellipses before track 1 and ellipses after track 7. the rest of the album are her real and true feelings. with "dress", it's not supposed to be exactly directed to a older demographic, it's just her feelings. also observe how this is the same thing with the album cover - half the media taking over her character and telling stories and half clean and her perspective
also like there's 3-4 specifically attack/hate like songs, which is her way of taking her own narrative and responding to haters and the media for their portrayal, the romantic songs despite the bass and edm like feels are softer and just edgy, but with a level of gentleness to it
Reputation is about finding love in the noise and the people who haven't listened to it think that it's just Taylor writing songs about people who did her bad, they all need to educate themselves
And I'm guessing the reason Delicate doesn't fit with the other 1-7 is because it's a Track 5? Tbh for the two halves, Delicate and TIWWCHNT could've been swapped
Hate the continuous comparison towards other female artists. She's not TRYING to sound like anyone, rather she's trying to experiment with other sounds. She's breaking records with courage and bravery. Love Taylor Swift forever.

I like how balanced the responses were - The interviewees really gave their honest and thoughtful opinion and did not just immediately jump on the either for-taylor or against-taylor wagon (which is what usually happens when you bring her name in a conversation). this is definitely one of the best albums of the year, it gets better w/ each listen tbh. it's really interesting to see how far taylor has come and her musical growth, a lot of artists can't evolve themselves but still be themselves.
Jack Antonoff produced both Lorde’s Melodrama album and Reputation so that is probably why there are so many similarities. I think it’s actually cool that from a few seconds of listening some of them were able to draw comparison to his other work.
The only good critique's here are Jeannie, Kostas & Sergio. They're judging the songs objectively and not basing their reaction solely on personal biases or how media has portrayed taylor

this is definitely one of the best albums of the year, it gets better w/ each listen tbh. it's really interesting to see how far taylor has come and her musical growth, a lot of artists can't evolve themselves but still be themselves.

Jack Antonoff produced both Lorde’s Melodrama album and Reputation so that is probably why there are so many similarities. I think it’s actually cool that from a few seconds of listening some of them were able to draw comparison to his other work.

Kostas is great! For a guy who probably never cared about Taylor Swift, he seems very open minded, which is an admirable quality. He also judged the album fairly which I also appreciate. Wish more music listeners were like him!
"she's trying to change the way people view her, i hate that" taylor has had to reinvent herself almost 20 times, due to her being the victim in situations with kanye west, scooter braun, and others who constantly blame her and lie, and after a while the truth comes out, in the miss americana documentary, she explains all of this and why it is so hard for her as an artist.
I became a swiftie in 2019 after I got over my internalized misogyny. And the girls who said they didn’t like any of the songs pissed me off 😭 literally this album was my gateway to falling in love with Taylor. I hope they got over their pick me girl phase too
