Timber hitch isn’t used enough in my opinion. So simple, quick and quickly undone. Glad to see it made the list.

    Great how to, Blackie!
So many things we can use cordage for, in everyday life!
Thank you, have a great day!

My ridgeline stays in the sack with my tarp, never gets used for anything else. I’ve kept a pouch with premade shackles and ties as well as a couple bulk wraps of cordage in my gear.

Nice I like an extra ridge line set up with a couple prusik lines on it anyway… Love seeing how others do things too…Have fun stay safe.

I'm in the three line camp now, but that has evolved with my kit. Now I use a lighter hammock than my Hennesy and it needs a ridgeline for the fly, then I use a tarp for "living" area that needs a ridgeline, plus a long line for anything else.

Ah! I do this too! Nice to hear I not the only one! I use it around the house, too (impromptu gear line, spray paint line, etc)

I never was a person who made camping difficult so anything to make it easier is always welcomed information. Thank you for sharing and a big thumbs up.

Hello Blackie- I agree with your being prepared and having extra cordage in various lengths with toggles and bankline. I have made many simple toggles from poplar branches and they work great and last along time if you put linseed oil on. I like to use the marline spike hitch for anchoring, but the timber hitch is super easy and holds very well. Thanks for sharing this info and you be safe out there. Carry On-
