  • I forgot to show that the Phillips screwdriver was also self-locking !
What are the differences between Wenger's version and Victorinox's? :
    - more pointed awl, equipped with a cutting edge and a hole on the V,
    - can opener with a small flat screwdriver on the V,
    - can opener with a cutter on the W.

My second day carrying the Vic evo S557... I really like the delemont/wenger 85mm knives... The lock kinda feels like it's in my way, but haven't had enough use to tell for sure.. evowood 17 is one of my favorites

This only shows the long discontinued Wenger model, which is a bit different to the Vic one. I have lots of Victorinox knives and this was for a while my only Wenger. I never really liked it. There are pros and cons with the scissors and the pliers, basically Wenger more functional (plier open wider, jagged scissors can cut cable ties) , Vic more ergonomic (pliers and scissor grips are wider and can be pressed with more force) and, well, prettier... I've always preferred (and often used) the Vic can opener, so great that they included that now in the new Vic model. the only read advantage is the locked blade and I wished Vic would introduce across their range. I specifically dislike the in-line Phillips which is supposed to automatically lock when pushed upon, but often it just folds instead and pinches (sometimes painfully) your fingers. also, it has not 90° semi-lock position, which I always liked on my Huntsman. The Wrench looks like a great idea, but you only really need it, if a nut is totally tight (otherwise you could also use the plier) and accessible (since it's pretty wide, again, easier to access with pliers). If Vic were to modify that into a more narrow version, that might work.

Many thanks for your videos. They really are amazing and very good. Would you get this tool or the wave + for about $40 USD more? Its for my son going away for college. I am thinking the Wave + is a sturdier and more serious tool. This tool (i.e. the Wenger) is really great, but seems lighter duty. One of the best swiss army knife type tools, but still lighter duty.

You never tested to cut the wire through the little hole in the pliers! Only in the extended position which doesn't work, not in the "original" position it unfolds from. Great video nonetheless!
