- One Minute Melee is one of the most well known VS Series out there, and has had a whole host of combatants Death Battle has never even approached. Which should get the chance? Which should be left behind? Today we talk about that and determine who should or shouldn't be put in.

Unironically, I think Homelander could work as an opponent for Wesker.
They are both lab rats with god complexes who were genetically engineered by a pharmaceutical corporation and eventually went rogue and tried to fulfil their own nefarious goals.
I also think that the fight itself isn’t entirely a stomp either. I do think Wesker probably wins though

To speak on Wesker, he’s a combatant who I’ve wanted on DB for years, but I agree that Kazuya isn’t the best matchup for him. I do think Liquid Snake is his best opponent though. It has just as many connections as vs Kazuya, but it also just has this weird campy, over the top vibe to it that I just love.

I can 100% confirm that most Shulk vs Lightning love comes from people wanting Shulk and Shulk only. Enough for this to be a most wanted episode, mostly because people want to see him.
It’s just unfortunate that the stale end piece of white bread thematically makes the most sense for him.
I know it's not really where the main hype comes from, but i know that there's also plenty of Final Fantasy fans who just want to see any FF game that isn't VII.

Sans vs The Judge pretty much boils down to "Who's faster?", because there's next to no interpretation that lets Sans take more that one hit from Pablo, which in turn makes Pablo's hax useless due to being tied to the secondary effects of his attacks.
Kinda why I like Sans Vs the Judge the most if you scale both to light speed. Light speed Undertale isn't agreed on at all though and Judge gets their way easier.
Pac-Man vs Toriko is one of the most based ones, the most based being Pac-Man vs Galactus
I like Yoshi vs Toriko personally, but Toriko's creator is a creep so I'm not pulling for it too hard

Also, Pegasus Koga and Kamen Rider Cross-Z are some other good matchups for Gohan

They're speedy, goofball adventurers who travel the world with a highschooler who has to put down the ultimate evil who which fought their ancestors. Also, Beni is just Walmart brand Pol in terms of design.

As much i like Luffy versus Natsu, i don't really want that matchup to happen simply because Natsu have already fought Ace, I just don't want Natsu to come back to fight another One Piece character when he already did so with Ace and so it was just feel weird for me. But yeah I wanted Death Battle to just wait for Luffy's Story to be finished before they can bring him in.
Ace and Luffy aren't really very similar and the debate is much different. Also, they butchered Ace's analysis and the animation in that episode has a nasty saturation to it, so I don't like it much anyway.

Shulk is unironically one of the best JRPG protagonists ever. I don’t know Lightning, but I don’t have Shulk fighting Lightning cause Shulk is boring lol. Not really something I look at when liking match ups lol. I honestly couldn’t care less if the character is boring. If the fight is cool and we get to see Shulk in all his glory then I like it. And it’s a bonus that Shulk most likely wins so you can look forward to Lightnings appearance for that
Even with Fire God both Liu Kang and Jago can scale to uni feats so it wouldn't matter.

Kenshin vs Manji from Blade of the Immortal is really cool. Plus the conflict and interactions write themselves, with Manji looking for manslayers to hunt down and having an affinity for stealing unusual blades like what Kenshin has. But it's hard to properly tackle Kenshin without addressing the sins of the author
@@ectospassmta8493 I never watched/read Blade of the Immortal so I wouldn't know, but it does sound like a good alt for Kenshin. As for the author, the best way to handle it is to simply not address it. Kenshin fans shouldn't have to be reminded of the horrible shit the creator did. They already know. Especially when people just want to talk about the character/story. Nobody ever mentions the Toriko creator when discussing his works or characters in vs debates. I feel like that should apply here as well.
@@OhayouEdboy I mention Toriko's creator every time. And it absolutely SHOULD be brought up so that people don't financially support the series since Watsuki still profits off of it and could use it to keep doing what he did. As for Blade of the Immortal, I HIGHLY recommend itm
@@ectospassmta8493 If they're going to bring Kenshin in a DB, if they really feel like they have to mention Watsuki, then it's good to give potential new fans a warning about him and to not support his work legally(frankly all the Kenshin stuff I have is second hand from Ebay), but they really don't need to go into depth about it in an episode where Kenshin fights another Manga samurai. Just seems unnecessary given the context of the show.
That being said: Definitely will check out Blade of the Immortal! Would be nice to find another Samurai Manga I like as much as Kenshin with none of the controversies surrounding it lol
@OhayouEdboy Blade of the Immortal was a big inspiration to Naruto and is entirely pencil drawn, it's very cool. Manji is a cool mix between Kenshin and Wolverine I'd say.

And i would like to see boruto vs Tristan Liones (Seven Deadly Sins/Four Knights of the Apocalypse) because i think that has a lot of potential with both characters' abilities. But I do understand wanting more characters first.
I don't want SDS anywhere near Death Battle, even Boruto doesn't deserve to be compared to that

@@ectospassmta8493 no? Tristan is the son of meliodas, and has to struggle with his father's demon side taking over. He has blond hair, special eye powers, and has full counter with some other abilities. Him and boruto actually have a lot in common and could bounce off eachother power wise very well.
And a lot of the "creepy things all the main cast do" is taken without overall context and also the characters are well written. Of the main cast Escanor probably has the least story/growth.

Yep, as much as I woud've liked to see Touhou on Death Battle, this series is just not really suited for battleboarding. Any attempts to powerscale Touhou characters or calculate their stats always end up turning into a mental gymnastics competition

17:50 YES!!! I've been saying this forever, thank god I'm not the only one who feels that way about MK VS Zero to. Honestly it's so overdone to where I wanna see both fight new blood giving their variety of options. At least Zero got that even if the episode wasn't that great, but MK especially has plenty of options that work just as well or better, my personal choice being someone like Riku from Kingdom Hearts.
At least OMM and DBX gave Meta Knight diffrent matchups. Granted i don't think either of those matchups are particularly good or thematic but it's something.
Under Night in Birth in death battle would make me pop off so fucking hard, but there's only like 4 good match ups I have heard of. Gordeau vs Qrow is peak, Hyde has basically been paired up with every anime fighting protag in existence and the only good one to me is Shiki Tohno because its a small rivalry, Londrekia has that one mu from Genshin Impact I think, I hear the connections are good but it's Genshin so I don't really care
Probably a massive stomp but Merkava vs the talking wolf Grimm from RWBY. I do not remember what he’s called and yes, the connection are pretty much humans that got turned into monsters but still have some humanity left (very little but still).

If they do Luffy he is never going to fight Marvelous, he has at least three more popular options that the team likes better. Decade vs Marvelous is the best chance it has, and is plenty popular in its own right.
@@ectospassmta8493 yeah but common rider is pretty obscure in America Captain marvelous is most likely to get on death battle through Luffy because luffy's a really popular character in the West and I know that's not likely that they're doing a Luffy versus marvelous but it's like the only chance they'd have to use a super Sentai character unless they do the power rangers vs the super Sentai but that's really dumb
@2coolrobot69 Kamen Rider isn't obscure at all anymore, ESPECIALLY in Death Battle's viewer base. They're well aware of and want to use Kamen Rider and Kamen Rider has plenty of Sentai matchups. And again, Decade vs Marvelous IS a popular matchup
