There is not one bad Paul Simon song that I can even think of. He's unbelievable and is so versatile with his music you can go through every emotion with him
Paul & Art perform this together at The Concert in Central Park 1981. Same concert you saw Art do Bridge Over Trouble Water. It's fantastic & with the 500,000 people in attendance dancing & getting into it.
Paul Simon, Steve Gadd, Tony Levin... absolute cracking hot band. The "One Trick Pony" album was a bit of a flop, but still had some great tracks, with this being the top of them. If you want feel-good Paul Simon, you should check out some tracks from his "There Goes Rhymin' Simon" album - "Loves Me Like a Rock", "Was a Sunny Day", "St Judy's Comet"... it's my go-to album if I'm feeling down.
I absolutely love this song. That said, this version sounds way too high-pitched and thin. The sound on the "real" version I'm used to is so much more dynamic, you can barely stay still in your seat. Check it out, for your own pleasure.
For the definitive performance os this song watch Simon & Garfunkkle's 1982 Concert in Central Park in front of several hundred thousand people, with the great Steve Gadd on drums.
Does anyone know if this clip is from his movie? I've never seen One Trick Pony. It seems live and sounds kind of different from the 45 I had, the version that got played on the radio.
This clip doesn't seem to be from the movie. In the movie, this song was played over the intro credits along with a quick montage of the main character growing into a professional musician - as the song describes. The movie version sounds like the studio version.
Genius one word for Paul Simon Genius ❤
….and, bit of a scumbag. 🤷🏻lol
That's such a groove.
My favorite Paul Simon song!!
Bought the cassette tape when it came out, still have it! Just need a pencil! Paul Simon has amazing albums! Yes, albums!!

Icon superstar ❤
A proper songwriter, one of americas best.
So much melody in his work too.
Steve Gadd; one of the top studio drummers of his generation. He played on Steely Dan’s Aja.
Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover. So sublime, so brilliant by Steve!
I adore Paul Simon, solo and with Garfunkel. I had the chance to see Paul Simon in concert when I was in grade 5.
I didn't know how much I missed this song. ❤
Love this song so much
I have every album Simon has released, with or without Garfunkel. He's my favourite songwriter. This is my favourite song by him. Go for it!
Tip top song writing by Paul Simon.
This is such a great song! Just makes you want to get up and move to the groove!
What a memorable song!❤ in the 80s I played the sax for this song in our high school band competition! ❤🎶🎵
Can't go wrong with any Paul Simon or Simon and Garfunkel. Fun song!

My favorite Paul Simon song! You can't beat the cracking rhythm section of Steve Gadd and Tony Levin!
This was recorded live for his One Trick Pony movie, quite different than the studio cut. Great song. fair movie.
And great album! The movie . . .meh . . . 😁
Makes you want to start a Conga line 💃
Brilliant in concert.
An underappreciated album.
Great song! You sure are picking/choosing some good ones!
🇬🇧 Id forgotten just how much i liked Paul Somons songs! Hes put out quite a few bangers. 🎶🎼🇺🇲🇬🇧
Always start with the studio
The tittle track on One Trick Pony is pretty sweet, as well. Give it a listen. You won’t be disappointed.

It sounds speeded up.

The sound is much richer in the studio version. But the song is just as fun :-)

I think so. The studio version the instruments and vocals are more on point, much clearer. ruclips.net/video/ilzvuie7Bks/видео.htmlsi=BX5XUfh_ZVt_-bcM

His voice in this recording was different than the studio recording. I prefer the sudio version.
Like the studio version better.
You should have listened to the studio version.
The studio version is much better and more balanced.
Yes, and after this let's react to all the worst songs of other artists. You need to stay away from the socks and sandals crowd, bruh.... 😜
