Haha I’ve got the perfect comment for this video… I’m looking at getting one this week. I’ve come from old Clio’s and cornering is something I love, scared the s1 over time is going to get boring in the corners! (I said it haha) Have you had any experience with the ‘straight line running’ turn off - as this is supposed to increase the feeling? Really enjoying your vids 👍
I did fail to mention because I was having a blast 🤣 mine is set to “not active” so it does follow uneven roads a little more and I’ve had no issues my end but it will never feel as raw as the Clio, but with the 400bhp the noise and the sheer thrill and madness of being pushed in the seat with every gear change kind of forget about Audis some what sloppy steering😆 and Thankyou very much I appreciate it 👍
Yer you looked like you were had to check I wasn’t watching the video at x2 speed 😄 Ahh ok , so it’s not a night and day change good to know. One criticism I’ve heard is how to steering doesn’t get ‘heavy’ enough at higher speeds on the s1. I’d feel bad testing the handling on dealer test drives 🤢 lol
Yep turning the SLR off does make a good improvement as far as electric power steering goes. Also change from standard to "increased traction" in All wheel control module. Makes it 50/50 all the time.
They are not boring when you can enjoy them at they fullest for where they are meant for The loud exhaust makes it fun more then usual But in other country of Europe like france where you can't really mod your car legally (i mean literally any mod) its hard to have this type of experiences And on top of 3rd gear you are at 130+km/h or 80mph+ you already lost you licenses in France on a back roads so fun need to happen with a relatively stock car and at not so high speed For example i can see how you can have fun with a 700 or 800 hrs power sports car like an M car ou an amg But for some people it would be impossible to appreciate the car at its fullest unfortunately I like small car with good handling like fiesta st or i20N If i had money and the possibility to mod and speed safely like in Germany i would buy a giulia gv manual the perfect car in my opinion for the weekend and a s1 for daily drive 😁
owned a mk5 golf r32 and drove a s3 to see if it was decent replacement absolutely hated the s3 terrible car bought a fk2 civic type r instead miles better car
Check out the FK2 video I made on the channel one of the best cars money can buy out of the box, and even faster in a straight line than stage 2 golf R’s and S3’s (when mapped) will out handle any vag car even when it’s stock💯 this s1 and any other s1 with an is38 walks them in real life situations, s1 with is38 is no joke on long sweeping bends and straight lines😅🚀
Manual alone is a lot of fun, adding all the power, sound, light weight, compact size and handling , you are far away from being in a boring car! Boring Audi’s are there , but not this one
Glad you’re back.
Thankyou🙏
The s1 is a wee go kart and rapid good to see you enjoying the car
4 years of owning it and still enjoy it😁
How would you rate your s1 and rs3 versus your old stage 3 golf r.
Hoping to get an s1 in the near future and mod it similar to urs. What sort of price range will I be looking at, if you don’t mind me asking?
Stunning intro location, where is it please? Still love that wall shot too
Its one one the 3 good mountains that people travel here form the Bwlch, the Rhigos and the Brecon Beacons
I want an s1 now 😊😊😊
Go for it! we’ll turn it into a rocket🚀
Looks very fun mate 400bhp in a car that small looks wicked nothing boring about Audis and RS3 different animal
It’s a blast! and we all Like different cars it’s a shame some people who claim they are into cars get touchy over different brands it’s crazy 😅😂
Quicker than the R or on par??
When the Golf R was stage 2 APR the S1 is a quicker car no doubt, when the Golf R was stage 3 hybrid turbo that was a different level

just look out for clutch problems. that is common on many S1's
The one I’ve put a deposit on is 30k . They’re replacing the clutch flywheels and potentially the diff… there’s a whining noise coming from the back

And on top of 3rd gear you are at 130+km/h or 80mph+ you already lost you licenses in France on a back roads so fun need to happen with a relatively stock car and at not so high speed
For example i can see how you can have fun with a 700 or 800 hrs power sports car like an M car ou an amg
But for some people it would be impossible to appreciate the car at its fullest unfortunately

Great info Thankyou for you comment 😁
