Mr. Zoomer, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for making a safe place for Christians of all denominations to unify as the Body of Christ despite their differences. I thank God that I stumbled upon your “Every Church Denomination” video; He used it to push me to get back into the community and to push me into deepening my understanding of Him. You helped restore my faith in our generation; I once thought it had abandoned God, but now I see He is still working through it after all 🙏🏻

About anime: Watching anime has made me want to make a historical anime that walks through the Bible. Reading the Bible, I've noticed there is a lot of scenes that are hard to envision except as an anime- even if overdramatized. There's plenty of bad anime out there, but the medium is not inherently demonic. I also think it would be a neat way to reach out to degenerates. It's a touchy topic, but I think it's worth exploring the possibility for it.

    • @Zellonous

According to the Septuagint Goliath was actually 6’9 which would make more sense since physically it’s impossible for a nine foot tall person to walk least of all survive and two because the average ancient Israelite male height at the time was literally only five feet so no wonder how a six foot person would appear HUMONGOUS to them 😅

I am not actually sure whether I am entirely memorialist in the perspective of communion. While I don't believe in transsubstantiation, I've always felt that there is something spiritual going on in the background. Kind of like what you, Redeemed Zoomer, numerous times expressed as the traditional Calvinist view that we are really feeding on Christ, but in a spiritual way (correct me, if I recounted that wrong).
I'm actually finding myself kind-of agreeing with quite a few things of your tradition, aswell as other traditions I started to explore, because I found your channel and it inspired me to take a deeper look at what other traditions have to say. The past few weeks have really been an opportunity for me to refelect on what I believe and why. While I am still Baptist, I am aware now of the potential shortcomings of my tradition (but also the strengths) and I have a deeper respect for other denominations, because I've seen that the Holy Spirit works wherever people are holding to the essentials of christianity with an honest heart. Which is awesome!
The book on the lectern in my chapel is Psalm 1 btw :)

@@AlekseyMaksimovichPeshkov I think claims like that study seems to make is why many dont respect psychology. They likely, for the sake of ease of research, use a narrow definition of "religious" and thus skew the results. Being religious encompasses an incredibly wide range of behaviors that cannot be easily reduced down to a single questionnaire for the purpose of research. You also really cant do proper experimental controls when it comes to human researcg either. Christianity was founded primarily by men, all of our theological understanding comes primarily from male scholars. Was religious study included in that study as a component of their definition of "being religious"? The best advice I can give to anyone looking into psychology is to look hard at how research terms are defined and studied. They can easily be misleading. Good luck with your goals! As a final warning, its not uncommon to find people that are outright hostile towards religion in the field

I must correct your statement about him though, as he isn't acting out any belief in staying with the Church of England. He has actually been ordained into the Free Church of England, which is not affiliated with the C of E at all. It's a very small group of churches in the country (I think there are about a dozen), and the vast majority of practicing Anglican churches in England at least are fully affiliated with the C of E, with its many liberal leanings, including female ordination, upcoming same-sex blessings and a pretty low view of both Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. There is far more interest and motivation in environmental issues than preaching the gospel.

36:22 Anime is not inherently satanic in an of itself, but the subject matter encased within it. For a style that originated as a parody of 1960's Disney animation, it has become rather unfairly villainized. However, I say this:
Many animes preserve traditional gender roles, and are quite adept at portraying love as more than just sex, which America often fails at.
The anime/manga Berserk is an accidental allegory about the fight between good and evil that has a lot of Christian parallels (Griffith being the god of light, Guts having stigmata injuries, the protagonist being targeted by the evil forces in a way similar to how we are tempted by sin, etc.). It is dark, it is bloody, but it is a very valuable read.
There are some very wholesome shows as well that my friend has pointed out.
In sum, I'd say it isn't, but you can interpret it however you want. We all think differently.

I’m a little late for comments since this video was released around a month ago. Redeemed Zoomer, I love your channel, and I believe you are doing good work.
As a Southern Baptist, training for ministry in an SBC seminary, and as one who loves studying the Protestant Reformation, I have to disagree with your stance on Baptist being a part of the Anabaptists/Radical Reformation tradition. The first Baptists were heavily influenced by the Puritan and Separatist movements of the Anglican Church. They actually held more in common with those of the Reformed tradition than with Anabaptists. Even the opening of the First London Confession makes this clear: “The confession of faith of those churches which are commonly, though falsely, called Anabaptists.”
I can understand the confusion because even many modern Baptist speak and act like radical reformers. Honestly, it’s way to complicated to speak about all the nuances of Baptist beliefs in one comment, but it’s a fascinating tradition. Maybe we could discuss it more in the future. Keep up the good work, and God be with you, brother.

The case for theistic evolution: when you get a cut and it goes away over time, would you say that your body healed itself entirely on its own, or that God designed your body to have mechanisms that heal over time? Of course the latter. God gently guiding His creation over time and not needing big explosive miracles constantly to work is a point FOR Him, not against Him. Theistic evolution is entirely comply with Christianity.

Better answer for the same-sex attraction question: while that’s not what I went though, you can be set free, but it’s HARD. Get real, serious, trustworthy Christian help. I mean have someone who has walked others through it before and been successful. They will address the heart of the matter. There is something in your heart that is telling you that you are in desperate need of make companionship, which is actually a good thing, but it is coming through in an unhealthy way. Often this kind of ministry is called “Sozo” counseling, where the person or people who are ministering to you are asking you many questions and then praying over and with you about them. They’ll often have you address God directly and honestly. This is deep heart stuff, and you can’t just do it on your own, you need someone to lean on, who knows HOW to get to the real issue. You can’t just pray it away, and you can’t just will it away, because the human will is not strong enough on its own. You need an advocate. I truly do hope this helps.

It can be argued that mainline Protestantism is the new "gothic". In my city the old classic architecture is claimed by Presbyterians and Episcopalians, and I've noticed that in other CO cities I've visited.
Catholic churches are fairly modernized now. Someone compared them to gymnasiums and I can see it.

Actually, Bishop comes from the old english Biscop which comes from the greek Episkopos, which literally means "looking from above" or overseer.
So an Episcopate is actually synonimous with a Bishopric in the true sense, despite some churches misusing the terms.

Did you know that Nephilem in the Bible aren’t actually giants or even have angelic fathers (as that would contradict what Jesus said about angels not marrying)? Yeah, in reality the “Nephilem” were meant to represent powerful but corrupt leaders at the time who may have been above average height (but definitely not ten feet also people were EXTReMElY short back then like the average ancient Israelite male during the time of Samuel was literally only five feet and that’s how a 6’9 Goliath as described in the Septuagint and by Josephus and the Dead Sea Scroll would appear giant to them and make more sense) but they were not supernatural “giants” that just got mistranslated in the process

    Hi Redeemed Zoomer!
Thanks for taking the time to answer questions. I was the one who asked about the question of the « violence of God vs the non violent ethics of Jesus ».
I just want to first say that I appreciate your videos and they are very informative on a lot of points. The time you spent as a liberal, even tho I am glad you came out of it, has still made you more thoughtful on a lot of subjects.
There are two things I would urge you to change your mind (repent) in a sense and let God show you if what I say is true.
First, I would have urged you to be careful when reading questions (but I understand this is a setting that makes everything go fast). I was careful not putting the question with the Marcionite heresy. Marcion thought that the difference between « the god of the Ot and the father of Jesus » was two gods. He also rejected everything Jewish thinking the demiurge was the one creator and the creeds says that the Father is the creator to counter his heresy.
That said, for a lot of church father and the church in general, the difference of ethics is really a question that has been there since the beginning. In Deuteronomy, God is very black and white, he gives rain to the one he blesses and hold rains for the wicked. But then Jesus says that the Father actually gives rain to everyone. There are actually real questions about the « changes » Jesus brings in the Jews vision of God and they need to be address. I think that you are sometimes a little too black and white in some areas which is something that happens often with younger people but I just hope you will consider and change your mind on that area and recognize it is not that simple as saying this is Marcionite! ;)
Second, I was in the same boat about what I used to believe about the mental health movement. It is true there is a lot of bad things in it. The left has high jacked it also but there are great scientific achievements in psychology that helps to understand the mind (even tho corrupted by sin) of people in general. On this state I urge you to change your mind (repent) and find good scientific littérature on psychological issues and not just about the « self love » movement. I enjoy Jordan Peterson who is a conservative psychologist who works with the Bible.
Anyway, hope you are doing well. Love you brother!
    Sam

As a Lutheran, at least in name, I do affirm that "is" means "is". However, I think that nuance is indeed of the essence. If you were to cut open a person who had just received the Eucharist, you would find bread in their stomach. The transubstantiation is not physical, so it "is" not literally, physically, a piece of His body. It is purely spiritual. I think the "is" should more accurately be interpreted as "having eaten this, is equal in all ways to haven eaten the physical flesh of Christ". It is as if you had literally consumed His body, in every way conceivable, except, of course, that it was bread that you consumed. I'm not sure if that counts as mental gymnastics. Our Faith is indeed complex. However, the Lord said "τοῦτό ἐστιν μου σῶμά". If the Lord says it "is" His body, then His body it is. Nothing more, nothing less.

Regarding what you said about there being more Christians in Palestine that's not really true, with around 50k Christians in the west bank and 1k in gaza in comparison to 185k in Israel, unless you count diaspora Christians as well as some Arab-Israeli Christians who identify as Palestinians as such

I don’t even think it should matter who is Christian or not. If Christians commit injustices then we as fellow Christians should be against that and not just support them because they are Christian. I’m not saying that is the case with Palestinian Christians, because that’s complicated and I don’t know enough about what they do and support or how Israel treats them.
