I hate to be honest, but this review went off topic one too many times if you ask me. It's not a bad review, but you guys had too much off topic discussion in this one. The first 55 seconds weren't necessary and the barrel roll segment wasn't needed. That could be me though. Just trying to offer some constructive criticism. You should definitely go back to the intro that has Ninjabread Man getting crushed by "Skip". The game looks alright. Not sure if I'll check it out though. Probably not considering a game like this isn't my thing.

see, this is what's angering me about Nintendo: third-party developers & publishers are already coming out with great flight games that take full advantage of the controller... and the Big N still doesn't want to work on a new StarFox! sure, the sales figures for Command weren't the brightest- quite the opposite, that game tanked hard- but I don't consider it enough of a failure that the Big Ncan't do another one... but that's just me!
What great flight games? You mean this licensed game thats based on a popular movie or that one f2p flight game on PS4 and PC? Because I'd like to know where these 'great flight games' are. Or name even one flight game in the past 10 years that did well.
ruekurei88 be things as they may, the primary concern of my previous comment is that if 3rd-party companies can take advantage of the Big N's controllers, both the Wiimote+nunchuck and the WiiU's touchscreen, to develop & publish flight simulators & shm'ups, then Nintendo should've come out with a Starfox game a while ago. plus, and with all due respect, you may not like what's currently out there but I do enjoy a scant few of them... a matter of differing opinions, I suppose.
triplestar100 I'm just asking you to name some flight games. And flight games that actually sell. The reason this Planes game exist is because it is tied to a popular franchise, and the other flight game on PS4 is f2p. And there are a couple shovelware flight games on the Wii because the profit margins for those shovelware games on Wii are pretty low. Nothing substantial about the flight genre going on now and is pretty much abandoned. Even MS Flight Simulator, a series over 20 years old has gone f2p and seems pretty much dead as well. The only flight games I see having any sort of hold now are those space sim sandbox games on PC with heavy online integration. And those are pretty much on land sandbox games with spacecraft.
Its pretty ludicrous to think that a crop duster plane can compete in an air race against multimillion dollar specifically designed for racing planes! Really bad story of the movie. Its geared towards adults not kids, not about exploring the skies and wonder that kids dream about. Also through in a racial stereotypical love story for no real reason. We get it, the red small looking plane in flashy dressings is Mexican.
Pixar must have been "plane crazy" if they thought the film would soar as high as "Cars." By the by, if only IL-2 Sturmovik was re-released on the Wii U, that would have made an interesting comparison to this game.

Planes is a Disney movie, and Cars/2 are Pixar movies. I haven't watched 2 and Planes, I should give them a try.
