Just imagine, you wrote a song about how they not care or take serious of your work and underestimating you and you sing this song back late in 90s in small places. In 2017, a room full of people sing your song by heart in Shepherd's Bush Empire. This is pure SUCCESS!
The crowd was so loud and harmonious, I’d almost think they didn’t need Matt to sing at all, but then at the end his voice rises above the crowd, and I understood, this is still his song. As heartfelt as everyone singing is, he’s still on another level
The entire crowd tho... safe to say the majority of them are really really really Muse fans. Got goosebumps when Chris starts playing that bassline and they all get excited, singing along like there's no tomorrow.
It’s literally the fifth time in a row that I’ve replayed the video, and yet it still sounds so awesome! This version, with the public singing, is just epic! You can also see Matt is really happy and surprised that the crowd sing along! Why can’t we have crowd like this in America?
I am a life long Muse fan since randomly picking up Showbiz in HMV back in 1999, this is my favorite ever muse track, one of the harder ones to deliver as they progress I guess, but this is still an amazing F'ing performance, I just miss Matt jumping around and his emotional face ;) Glasto 2004 performance was amazing..
Love how the crowd is all in! This brought me back to 2001 when I first saw them... back then I could buy a ticket 3 days before the gig for 20 euros...
Can we make this song a regular on their set lists ???? Pls muse the energy this song radiates in a group is amazing I can feel how manic I’d become the second I hear it life
@@weery33 They've actually recovered that pedal, which is why they've been able to play the song in 2015, 2017, and 2018. I believe the main reason they don't play it live more frequently/regularly is because one of the band members (Matt, I believe) mentioned in an interview that "the song doesn't really work live." This was featured in an interview prior to the band's tour for The 2nd Law starting in 2012 (I read it on MuseWiki.) The fact that "Muscle Museum" is also an older song that they've played literally hundreds of times before (since 1995!) probably doesn't help matters either. I'm sure the band will continue to play the song on special occasions, but I highly doubt it will ever be the setlist fixture it once was again. 😞
Fantastic crowd. I bet the majority of them have been fans since Showbiz album. I wish I lived in Showbiz era. It's the way they sing the rif then the lyrics... it's so precious to feel it. Media/critics/people be making fun of that album but so glad it found its way to catch many souls.
This song is a masterpiece and this performance, outstanding. Shepherd's Bush Empire is a magical venue, i always loved it and what an amazing audience for this one! ❤️
Incredible performance, shame they never put this into the set for the bigger venues, when i see them at The Etihad in June i'll doubt they'l play this, and Dead Star, really underrated gems.
I think I prefer Matt's deeper, stronger, more mature voice, as evidenced in this vid. His singing during the simulation theory tour was stratospheric.
Musimike Battle you’re so lucky to have known them since their beginning! I wasn’t even born in 1999... Still, since I’ve discovered them, a couple years ago, they’ve been my favorite band! All their songs are just amazing!

Missing the context that this was a very small crowd of hardcore fans and a near 20 year old song from their least successful album. Of course they're not going to play this in arenas.

I know I'm one of those "play the early stuff" wankers, but fuck me this shows exactly why. Remember why the crowd are here in the first place and give them the old stuff amongst your experimental noodlings from the newest album.
I hate how people label their new albums as experimental when it couldn’t be any further from the truth. Experimental would imply that they’re trying something new, taking risks, but their new albums are nothing but generic pop. If anything their rock albums where a lot more experimental with songs such as space dementia and knights of cydonia

I adore this core part of Muse community

I'm almost 38 years old and
this song was released in 1999, I've listened to all the versions for decades now.
This is the best one.
Matt was so happy that so many people knew the words to this song. How I wish I could see this live 😢
0:53 when you expect to hear Matt's voice, but all you can hear is the crowd singing.
Matt enjoys😂
Makes me so happy to see the crowd so excited for an older song
Makes him so happy too, as we can see this video :D
This is the peak video version of Muscle Museum , the greatest Muse song. Literally give me chills everytime the crowd singing along

they seem to fucking love playing this, missed this song live
especially with that much support from the crowd!
yes the first best song why live not
Nobody is like them.
No one will ever be like them.
You realise that you made a great song when everyone just keep singing it all the time.
1:00 look at that face. pure happiness
I've never seen the crowd out-sing Matt...
it's just a matter of how the recording is mixed.
Also, it's not often that he stops singing in favour of the singing crowd!
As much as I loved this song and album wow have they come a long way. I knew it was in them but didn't think they'd take over the world
The crowds energy!!! Yess

i mean they did do a big concert where everyone got to vote which songs would be on the setlist, pretty cool from them xd
But sometimes they really do surprise you in terms of what they pull out. I saw them in New Zealand and was surprised to see them play Fury and Cave.

To reveal what you'd never shown her
Too little much too late
Too long trying to resist it
You've just gone and missed it

And begging for so much more
Than you could ever give
And I don't want you to adore me
Don't want you to ignore me
When it pleases you
Yeah, and I'll do it on my own
I have played in every toilet
But you still want to spoil it
To prove I've made a big mistake
Too long trying to resist it
You've just gone and missed it
It's escaped your world
Can you see that I am needing
And begging for so much more
Than you could ever give
And I don't want you to adore me
Don't want you to ignore me
When it pleases you
Yeah, and I'll do it on my own
And I'll do it all by myself
