The first time I went to Germany, in the 1970s (I was so very young 18), We lived in a German apartment in Wiesentheid. My land lady, Frau Stein didn’t speak English and my attempt at German was a butchering of the language. She taught me how to make Black Forest Cake from scratch. I miss the food, the breads, cheeses, meats are pure heaven. I didn’t know there was so many different cheeses until I went there.
That is such fun idea! Your Dirndl & braids are cute. I also wore a Dirndl when I had hosted an Oktoberfest celebration outdoors & I cooked for over 25 people. Sauerbraten, Spätzle, Red cabbage, Bratwurst, Weisswurst, & other sausages, many types of Imported German beer, a tasty American beer 'Yuengling Porter', and Angry Orchard hard apple cider. German Polka & Oktoberfest music playing. Coffee & apfelkuchen desert. 3 days to prepare!
you forgot to invite me!! the menu sounds as authentic as it gets. Sounds like a good time, and full belly for all.and Thank You for saying the name of her dress, I forgot what it is called, and YES, she makes the occasion brighter, Wunderbar
I recently found a German market in NYC and I can't wait to make your recipes. Having authentic ingredients makes all the difference and German cuisine is in my top 3 favorites. I like how you take the time to explain things and don't rush. Your traditional outfits are an added bonus to the videos. Thank you for raising my confidence in the kitchen and sharing your knowledge and skills.
I just ate a piece of your poppy seed crumble cake. It is just like the cake I had in Wiesbaden when I was a child visiting my grandmother in the 1960s. THe recipe was easy to make. I used the marzipan you taught me to make and the rum soaked raisins...Looking forward to many more recipes.
I always recommend your channel to people, Barbara. My son in law is of German heritage so I love including your recipes at get togethers. I can imagine his two little nieces feeling very ‘naughty’ eating this beer desert 😂
Thank you for this recipe! I can't wait to make it myself (for Oktoberfest or for anytime!). I love your videos and recipes - keep up the great work. Cheers from South Carolina.
Love this and can’t wait to try the recipe! For clarification: do you use peach jello (as said in video) or apricot jello (listed in recipe) with the lemon jello?
Hi, I love your channel! I'm about to go buy these ingredients to make for an Oktoberfest this weekend! What kind of yogurt did you use? Is it plain greek yogurt, or regular vanilla?

What a wonderful opportunity & experience!

I would really enjoy a video about the equipment you use. You have wonderful tools, and I assume that many folk would like to know more about them.
Dirndl looks great 👍
Danke für diese video! Lecker!
Super! 🍻
Schönes Rezept! Danke dir
I love your traditional outfit. 🖤💛❤️

Oh, sorry for that! It’s peach and I corrected it on the blog. Thank you for letting me know.
Muy padres !!
My Mom is German I love your channel you're incredible
Awe, thank you!

It’s just plain yogurt. Greek yogurt would work, too. No vanilla since you’ll use lemon juice with it.
SO Typical lots off Jell-o beer but no Jell-o sausages!
These look PERFECT!!! Can you make these the day before?
Yes, absolutely.
Pretend you need a beer 🍺 😁
😁😁😁
Would love to see you eat some of it
That's often the problem: I need the food to make good pictures for the blog post, so I can't eat it on camera most of the time.
It's such an unsatisfying feeling at the end of watching your videos when we don't see you actually cutting into the food and eating some of it.
