Me : Mouth full of Noodles. Hahaha
yup...I am watching this when I am eating....thanks
MIKUさんの おしえるかたは 好きです。
What the Heck!!!!!
This し is what I been always looking for coz I always heard it. Thank you so much Miku Sensei.
But I also heard "おねがいし". is that a same thing?
Don't think it's same thing as you typed only one word "Please"
This topic is speaking about "as well" in sentence where you add more meaning
So stand alone word means pretty much nothing in this current topic
semangat !!!
がんばれ。。。!!
iam on u miku san 👍👍👍
アミは綺麗だし、しっかりです。
wow. great video, following
Marcoくんはめっちゃイケメンですねー
Ahaaa...
Now I know, the different of [し]と[で]の文法。。
お疲れさまでした。。
ありがとうこざいます、みくせんせい💗
Miku sensei! Can you please do the difference between shi and tari when listing verbs!
From the question, I assume you learned that 'shi' and 'tari' are used to list verbs (but 'shi' has the broader usage since 'tari' can only be used with verbs). The difference is, 'shi' is used to 'put stress' onto the list, while 'tari' is used simply to take the examples out from the list and you leave the rest untold because it's too many. From my understanding, 'shi' is used when we want our listener to understand why we're in such a condition (annoyed, exhausted, joyful, interested, fall in love, etc.) so some Japanese teachers tell that 'shi' is used to list multiple reasons.
Based on Miku sensei's example,
Miku: "Do you like Marco?"
Ami: "Yeah. He's kind, has a nice smile, funny, and he's so easy to talk to." < the usage of 'shi'
Ami uses 'shi' because Ami lists the reasons why she likes Marco so that Miku could understand Ami's feelings.
For example, you just back from your trip to Tokyo and your friend ask you, "What did you do in Tokyo?"
If you simply just list what you did there and you've done so much until you couldn't tell them all to your friend, use 'tari'.
"I went to Tokyo Tower, ate ramen, and so on (it was too many)."
「東京タワーに行ったり、ラーメン食べたりした。」 (Tokyo Tower ni ittari, ramen tabetari shita)
^ 'so on' here is the basic mean of 'tari'.
If you want to stress the list, you want to express you're happy because of what you've done in Tokyo, you want your friend to understand why you're happy, use 'shi'.
"I went to Tokyo Tower, and I also ate ramen. (so much I've done, that's why I'm happy)"
「東京タワーにも行ったし、ラーメンも食べた。」 (Tokyo Tower ni mo ittashi, ramen mo tabeta)
^ 'and also' and 'so much I've done so I'm happy' is the expression of 'shi'.
But, 'shi' could also mean you list what you've done in Tokyo while remembering because you kind of forget them and you don't want to end your sentence.
" I went to Tokyo Tower, umm... I forgot... oh, I also ate ramen."
「東京タワーにも行ったし、、えっと、ラーメンも食べた。」 (Tokyo Tower ni mo ittashi... etto, ramen mo tabeta)
^ 'umm... I forgot... oh, I also' is the expression of 'shi'.
Based on those 2 examples, 'shi' could be translated as 'also' or 'as well'. I know it's TMI but in case you wonder, particle 'mo' which means 'also' has a different meaning from 'shi'.
'mo' is used when you simply add something to the list because you completely forget it before and has no intention at all (not stressing it and your listener could forget it afterward),
but 'shi' is used when you add something to the list while remembering because you forget it but still want to include it onto the list so you don't want to end your sentence, OR adding the list while stressing it (showing the list as your reasons so that your listener focus more onto the list and understand your condition or feeling, as I've said above). That's why Miku sensei tells us to use 'mo' particle (if needed) when we use 'shi' ( 7:14 ) because 'mo' means you're adding the list, but 'shi' means you're stressing the list.
Hope this helps! I'm sorry if it's too long 😅
Kiki 👏👏👏
