WLToys 124018 vs 124019 High Speed RC Cars: GPS Speed Test & Off Road Run!

On road and off road: Speed test comparison and dirt run with the two RC Car siblings: The WLToys 124018 Desert Truck and the WLToys 124019 Buggy. Same metal chassis, both 1/12, 4WD ... and how fast? The result surprised me but I am sure there is a good reason ...

This video was a real pleasure to film and edit. Hope you enjoyed it. Still not sure why the brand new 124018 was 5 kph (3 mph) slower than the 124019. But I suspect it has something to do with resistance/friction in the drive line or/and wheels. Could be the gear mesh that needs a little more time to smoothen up or the wheels that needs to be loosened up a little. I can definitely feel that the 124019 runs smoother and more freely and it actually has gained 4 kph compared to the GPS measurement I did with it brand new.
And no, I do not think that the weight or the aerodynamics of the Desert Truck body will cause a difference of 5 kph. In theory, with these tiny little cars, it should have little if any effect. Anyways, something to think about and maybe investigate in a future video.
