They will say your protests and demonstrations are "too disruptive", that your pleas and calls to action are "divisive".
What moral high ground do they have when we carry on the legacy of John Brown? To hell with decorum. They will only realize their fragility when we stop playing by their rules - rules they dont play by themselves.
Since it's not in the description, I just want to mention that these lyrics were written by Len Chandler, a great songwriter from the Greenwich Village scene who toured around with Cordell & Bernice Reagon & the Freedom Singers during the Civil Rights Movement in the '60s & later. This recording is from an appearance he made on Pete Seeger's 1964-65 TV series Rainbow Quest, & is the only recording I've found of Chandler himself performing the song.
Len Chandler died just a few days ago, at the age of 88.
that is awful to hear about his passing however its amazing that such great people can come together and resist anything. also Pete Seeger was a legend
I like how it referenced both *The Battle Hymn of the Republic* and *John Brown’s Body* while sharing the same melody.
thats because the battle hymn was made using the melody of JBB

Honestly the Black Panthers were so fucking cool and you can clearly see the discrimination they were fighting against. When they carries guns they were portrayed as Terrorists but when white people got to carry guns, they were just given a stare due to the open fire arm. And then they also made pancakes and breakfast for less-fortunate kids, Honestly they were fucking cool.
sadly it got replaced with blm democrats who just care about stealing there money. sad to see what is happening to the via manipulation. pray they can find a good leader who actually want to fix the inner cities and not just lie to get there money
True heros of the community, we need more people like them
@@stibbo We need to organize in our cities. Thats the only way to protect our communities from Capitalism.
This is why I am so iffy on restricting firearms. Sometimes, tragically, hateful individuals only listen to the threat of violence. Sure, we should normalize love, acceptance, and tolerance without violence; but the Nazis and their ideological parent the C.S.A. weren't going to listen to words of peace when they responded with brutal and violent suppression. Sadly, it seems the MAGA movement is no different if elected.
@@stibbo
They...murdered several people in "the community" were connected with organized crime and were a Soviet-backed communist psyop that did more to damage the Black rights movement at the time than help it. That's to say nothing of their actual ideological beliefs which, today, would broadly be regarded as cartoonishly racist.

The story of the alliance between the BPP and Algeria is one that must be retold. Solidarity should always be remembered and honored.
@@thebolshevikpanther do you guys know about us back in the US
@@milotura6828I have heard of FLN. In history class we basically learned that the French never got the message that decolonization was happening. And that violence occurred in Algeria for its independence. And that the French- Algerians were evicted and they were called Pied Noires.
@@seanhartnett79 Yes The french were trying to replace us completely. The french settlers even made a Terror group called the ONS which attacked Algerians and other french civilians. It was a brutal war with a-lot of war crimes by the french. If the pied noir stayed they probably would have been massacred by the Algerian Army and people immediately afterward. Even Now Algerian despise the french and harkis who are Algerian collaborators. The Fln itself was a coalition of hard nationalists, Socialists, and even a couple of Fascist Algerians that served the SS during ww2
Lol i ain’t very hateful but you should hear my gf talk about the french.
pretty cool how this melody has sorta become the theme for American leftism
All thanks to Ralph Chaplin most likely, he wrote Solidarity Forever to the melody

Who were they? Please enlighten me ^^
Here's the first paragraph of their Wikipedia article, "a Marxist-Leninist and black power political and criminal organization founded by college students Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton in October 1966 in Oakland, California. The party was active in the United States between 1966 and 1982, with chapters in many major American cities, including San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Philadelphia. They were also active in many prisons and had international chapters in the United Kingdom and Algeria. Upon its inception, the party's core practice was its open carry patrols ("copwatching") designed to challenge the excessive force and misconduct of the Oakland Police Department. From 1969 onward, the party created social programs, including the Free Breakfast for Children Programs, education programs, and community health clinics. The Black Panther Party advocated for class struggle, claiming to represent the proletarian vanguard."
they were a black rights group that responded to police violence in their neighborhoods (oakland, chicago LA many US cities) by forming their own police forces against the governments wishes. they are the reason schools have free breakfast because they started that program as well as clothing and blood drives as well as spreading awareness for cicle cell anemia. they got in some hot water with the press because they didn't let the US firehose them the FBI illegaly assassinated a chicago leader known as fred hampton and after that they attacked the party through illegal spy operations
Also the people singing Len Chandler, who wrote the lyrics in this version, and Pete Seeger.
