You know I gotta ask I don’t get the whole southern confederate pride. They fought one war and lost. They won some spectacular battles yes. But they lost the war So I don’t get the pride. I’ve seen the whole we defended our sovereignty. But that brings it back to the sovereignty to do what. Sell and buy slave. And the poor farmer argument doesn’t work because they’re are numerous records of common soldiers being just as supportive of slavery as the rich slave owners. So I don’t get the pride. It’s like being proud of the nazis
Well, to quote that one person who has been pestering the comments section of this video 'them slaves are better treated and it's for the purpose of civilizing them, and that all great men practice it' shtick.

I was so depressed when Trump won again, but god damn does this song and the BLM movement give me hope. There will be blood, and goddamn am i ready to see it spilled!!
John Brown lost a battle, but in the end, he won the war. Don't you dare give up America, the shining city a top of hill is still somewhere in you. Fight!
gotta let gang know i fw this
Remember when Republicans were badass? If only they remained that way…
They still are… stop listening to legacy media bruva. There still the anti racist anti slavery party, why did more blacks and Hispanics vote for Trump? Because he’s another Lincoln in there eyes, in Heuy longs words, Every Man a King!
I feel like John Brown needs to march again. "I, John Brown, am now quite certain that the crimes of this guilty land will never be purged away but with blood. I had, as I now think vainly, flattered myself that without very much bloodshed it might be done."
Just voted for Kamala and playing this song in celebration
I don’t think his truth is marching on atm :(
I know we just suffered a setback, but there's another song on this channel, "Move On Over" which inspires me to persevere.
He’s looking down at us FR🇼🇸🇼🇸🇼🇸 (Couldn’t find 🇺🇸)

From Appeal to Reason: Nov 23rd, 1907. By E.V. Debs. The most picturesque character, the bravest man and most self-sacrificing soul in American history, was hanged at Charleston, Va., December 2, 1859. On that day Thoreau said: “Some eighteen hundred years ago Christ was crucified. This morning, perchance, Captain Brown was hung. These are the two ends of a chain which is not without its links. He is not ‘Old Brown’ any longer; he is an Angel of Light… I foresee the time when the painter will paint that scene, no longer going to Rome for a subject; the poet will sing it, the historian record it, and with the landing of the Pilgrims and the Declaration of Independence it will be the ornament of some future national gallery, when at least the present form of slavery shall be no more here. We shall then be at liberty to weep for Captain Brown.’ Few people dared on that fateful day to breathe a sympathetic word for the grizzled old agitator. For years he had carried on his warfare against chattel slavery. He had only a handful of fanatical followers to support him. But to his mind his duty was clear, and that was enough. He would fight it out to the end, and if need be alone. Old John Brown set an example of moral courage and of single-hearted devotion to an ideal for all men and for all ages. With every drop of his honest blood he hated slavery, and in his early manhood he resolved to lay his life on Freedom’s alter in wiping out that insufferable affliction. He never faltered. So God-like was his unconquerable soul that he dared to face the world alone. How perfectly sublime! He did not reckon the overwhelming numbers against him, nor the paltry few that were on his side. This grosser aspect of the issue found no lodgment in his mind or heart. He was right and Jehovah was with him. His was not to reckon consequences, but to strike the immortal blow and step from the gallows to the throne of God. Not for earthly glory did John Brown wage his holy warfare; not for any recognition or reward the people had it in their power to bestow. His great heart was set upon a higher goal, animated by a loftier ambition. His grand soul was illuminated by a sublimer ideal. A race of human beings, lowly and despised, were in chains, and this festering crime was eating out the heart of civilization. In the presence of this awful plague logic was silent, reason dumb, pity dead. The wrath of retributive justice, long asleep, awakened at last and hurled its lurid bolt. Old John Brown struck the blow and the storm broke. That hour chattel slavery was dead. In the first frightful convulsion the slave power seized the grand old liberator by the throat, put him in irons and threw him into a dungeon to await execution. Alas! it was too late. His work was done. All Virginia could do was to furnish the crown for his martyrdom. Victor Hugo exclaimed in a burst of reverential passion: “John Brown is grander than George Washington!” History may be searched in vain for an example of noble heroism and sublime self-sacrifice equal to that of Old John Brown. From the beginning of his career to its close he had but one idea and one ideal, and that was to destroy chattel slavery; and in that cause he sealed his devotion with his noble blood. Realizing that his work was done, he passed serenely, almost with joy, from the scenes of men. His calmness upon the gallows was awe-inspiring; his exaltation supreme. Old John Brown is not dead. His soul still marches on, and each passing year weaves new garlands for his brow and adds fresh lustre to his deathless glory. Who shall be the John Brown of Wage-Slavery?

Ain't a fan of socialism but I like this song
Aren’t the Black panthers the KKK for blacks?
Nah, they were never supremacists. They were just into community self defence and black self determination. Remember, this is during segregation and before body cams, back in this era it wasn’t uncommon for cops to just arrest random people and torture confessions out of them, especially in Oakland. Eventually they had enough.
@@TonyGModesto Ok but what about after civil rights did the Panthers disappear or did they go more and more Black supremacist
@@aregulargamer3813 Well they were never black supremacist, but to answer your question- The Black Panther Party peaked in 1969, with an expansive community welfare program which mainly focused on education and free breakfasts. The FBI infiltrated them shortly after, and began turning key Cadres as informations. The FBI, working in conjunction with the Oakland Police Department, assassinated Fred Hampton in a raid on the Party Headquarters, shooting him as he slept in his bed. Without its energetic leader, the Party suffered a blow from which it would not recover. The FBI then used their network of informants within the Party to start levying accusations of turning traitor towards loyal party members, which lead to infighting and eventually violence. Key leaders were either killed by Police raids, killed as informants by other Party Members (many of whom were actually informants) or arrested for various charges. Without its core of disciplined Cadres, the Party structure soon broke down, and chapters began to lose discipline, with many turning to criminality or violent infighting with other chapters. By the early 1970s, with all its political and intellectual leaders either dead or in prison on dubious charges, the organisation had all but ceased to exist. But it’s influence as a political and revolutionary movement is still felt today, with the symbolism and aesthetics of the BPP playing a big role in Black political and cultural movements
Not really, Black Panthers were concerned with securing civil rights for an oppressed group, whereas the KKK strictly formed to suppress minorities. Both had violent tendencies, but it’s like comparing Hitler to Washington.
Unfathomably based. No kings, no president stands taller than the common men. Slavers and opressors are the reason one should arm himself from government, black or white, defend god given right to be free forevermore.
Maybe John Brown was a bit overzealous, but his intentions were great and knew that certain forces were not going to allow the slaves go free! He said that the union will shed blood because of slavery! Well, Abe Lincoln said about the same thing when he said that slavery will not go away peacefully due to sinister evil forces at work supporting slavery and trying to divide the union! Well, today these same evil forces are trying to destroy Israel and I bet that John Brown would fight for Israel today if he was still alive!
I will proudly say as a Native American-White mixed with very little if any black in me that if I lived back in the 60s, I'd join and fight for the Black Panther Party.

I am going to antagonize a few people here. First off, I think every American Citizen should be trained in the use of Firearms. It should be MANDATORY that they also own one...especially the so-called minorities. Second, it isn't the Conservatives that want us disarmed...it is the Liberals and so-called Progressives that do not want us to protect ourselves. And always have been. Last Point...the AVERAGE response time for the Police, Nation wide is 15 minutes. However, they, for the most part...are part of the "Blue Line Gang"...that are mainly enforcers for the Elite to keep the people under control.
Yet it was the conservatives who passed most of California’s anti gun legislation, specifically in response to the Black Panther Party.
Mandatory gun ownership? Is that you Cotton? Anyways, go dig up Reagan and asked why he was so opposed to gun ownership in 1967, the year of the Black Panther protest.
