Want to add: The aquarium heater emphasized not to have the electrical connection at a low point, such as the ground, to eliminate the possibility of water dripping down the power cord and entering the connection. However, I'm not sure the electrical connection is meant to dangle, either. Any safety suggestions are welcome!

I have a Master Electrician buddy that told me letting electrical connection hang, has to be hung right! You want to make sure the female plug faces the earth. So when moisture runs down the cord, it will not be able to run into the connector. Factory male connectors are sealed so it's not an issue of moisture getting into that plug.

The buckets of water will also create a wetter environment for your plants. I do a lot of grafting and rooting cuttings. Plenty of moisture is very important when grafting and rooting plants!

Love it! Honestly so so appreciate your perspective! We don’t need to spend thousands of dollars on this. It can be so affordable. It’s such a needed perspective😊.

A black plastic tarp on the ground, also black buckets. A radiator heater is pretty efficient and safe.

Great video! I think I'll try this. I've been looking around for ideas. There have been a lot of videos about using storage tubs as greenhouses. But your right you would need a lot of them to do tons of seed starts.

If you have spare copper (or other metal) pipes from e.g. your home build, look into making a DYI solar water/swimming pool heater to warm up a water mass.

Paint your buckets black, it'll pull more heat in the water through the day. 10 gal is also not that much thermal mass for that size greenhouse. To help with your electrical cords, just cut up some plastic food containers and seal your connections inside.

I suppose that in a survival situation one could boil some water at the campfire and put it in there for the night

I’ve actually heard that people will put hot coals in a metal bucket and allow that to heat the greenhouse overnight, too!

A person could use rebar or t post for support for taller green houses.

Anyone have ideas for keeping this secure if sitting on concrete?
