I think the way you have dealt with the Mustang is perfect. you have now got full control over the condition of the metalwork.. Excellent choice. Love the Vids. would love to see more metal crafting.
Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to do these vids. It's really interesting to see how the builds progress in real time. That Merc's a stunner.
This entire video was filmed without the aid of a cup of coffee‼️‼️ I am awestruck at the sheer audacity and courage of the presenter: much kudos, sir‼️👏👏👏
I normally hate big flashy chrome alloys and slammed look on classics cars but this looks beautiful. The interiors so elegant. I could see myself cruising along in this.
I'm glad the Mustang of Theseus is getting so much love and attention. Being chopped up and rebuilt by expert hands now is a better fate than being left full of rust and body filler for another decade.
A Hellcat in a Jensen will be epic! I hope the modifications planned will help the driver keep it between the ditches and out of a hedge! This is a great update on several projects!
Wonderful..........your attention to detail is unbelievable. Don't change a thing you do with these videos, i find them easy and informative. I am so jealous of you younger guys and the technology, back in my day it was all carbs and crankshafts and acres of "Harry Moss" accessories!..........
The engineering , style and overall attention to detail is staggering on that Cortina. Same goes for every project under your roof. Great work and an enjoyable channel to watch, and I watch a lot of car stuff.
As a Morrie ( what they’re called in Oz) fanatic, I can’t wait to see more of the Minor Threat build. I have been posting updates on my “Australian Morris Minor Buy Swap & Sell” Facebook group. Keep the vids coming.
I am not sure should one actually be impressed that a professional shop actually does progress at professional pace, but I guess there's a lot of not so professional shops around the world that don't and that makes it impressive :D
It's fun to get these little bite sized updates! I know most would think it's a bit dry, but I would love to see more about programming the PDU, it's such a cool bit of kit!
Informative and entertaining as always, thank you. A little ditty to sing as you are walking around. How about, to the tune of the 7 Dwarfs going to work from Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, "Hi ho, Hi ho, more of our work I'll show" and then repeat as many times as necessary. Could be fun.😂
The Mustang is making me feel better about what I’m having to have done to my Sunbeam Alpine (which will be Tigerised and more when it’s finished) It was so much more rotten than I expected, but so would another one, and once it’s done I’ll know it’s good.
I hope you keep doing the dedicated build series videos too, but I like the new, more frequent 'taster' format too! Seems a bit weird you presenting without a coffee in-hand on this one, however!
@@ralphenstein9105 Hi there....great question. Ive had to think about that for a couple of days but a wide body bmw 2002tii with a Millington Diamond engine and sequential gearbox would be my perfect weekend car. How about you?
@@hunuahustle3629 Nice! I think I'd have a Toyota Celica mk1 liftback. Not sure about engine. Something beefy. Manual. Just need to buy a winning lottery ticket now. Easy!

@@retropowercars Thanks . For a moment I was worried ! Back in the late '70's l had a '66 mini traveller ,lightly modified , 1300 engine , 5" x10" Cobra super slots, corbeau seats, shaved front bumper mount with clubman estate quarter bumpers all round. It was masked up ready for me to paint in Snowberry White when my buddy came over from his shop and said he had 2litres of Mercedes Light Blue Metallic spare . Why not paint your mini in that ! I did , it looked fantastic and your Mercedes is that colour ! Sorry! Probably bored you sh**less !
Hmmmm SVA tests, customer acceptance issues? I saw it in the flesh at Goodwood, and having inspected pics of the rear valance discovered 'issues with the tin bashing' - Metalwork to you 'n' me. Maybe Gordon isn't happy!
So so jealous of the Cortina owner... And yes that Merc is stunning, and I wouldn't worry about what the American's think, you got them beat hands down.
Love the merc, that interior and all the chrome is just to die for. Noticed the dog crate at the arrivals area. Any chance to get an introduction to the one that's for? :)
The beauty about the Mustang build is you are basically saving the car to be enjoyed for another lifetime. Better than the other option I believe. Disappointing about the Jensen. I was hoping it was your parts run about. Now I won't get to see it for a while. Bugger.
Mopar hemi? You can build the proper 440 cheaper and make more power. And it bolts in. Modern hydraulic roller and aftermarket heads. Having serviced one of those things in the distant past the engine only just fits. But the modern engine and acillaries is probably worse. And quite possibly heavier as well.
The cars are looking good guys & getting to the exciting stage, was that a 21 turbo I saw in background at the beginning? What's the story with that? Haven't seen one for years.
@@retropowercars I can assume you have the gearbox output shaft and pinion correctly aligned and phased, so that can be eliminated. I would assume there is a direct 1:1 ration in the gearbox, if the issue is reduced in that gear, it would certainly point towards gearbox back-lash being a contributing factor? I would assume it's using an OEM type friction plate(s) in the clutch, with a sprung hub, so a solid hub wouldn't be introducing it's NVH into the drivetrain from the input shaft? If nothing seems obvious, I'd suggest fitting a carbon fibre driveshaft, as they have an elastic ability to absorp transmission noise that metal ones transmit.
Your metal work is superb. I really like it. But the woodwork in the Mercedes leaves a bit to be desired. It was up and down, as though the various components weren’t fitted properly. The gloss highlighted the lack of sanding. Please accept this as constructive criticism, not having a go.
Retropower perfection. The workmanship blows me away.
I like the fact you say "standard" and NOT "stock". Makes me happy.

Is that a 240Z next to the Camaro? A little yarn on that while you have a cuppa would be great.
I really like that you've avoided flared arches on the Cortina. I loathe them, even when they are part of stock design.
you need not worry about American builds. Your builds compete with anything they can do. They're lucky you don't enter a Riddler car👍

Does Murray not want to drive the Escort?
I see the Murray escort is still there, update on that ? Didnt it have a diff breather problem ?
Don't recall that, do recall it was noisy, which they put down to an aftermarket CWP issue.
Yes, diff noise and slight driveline shunt issues which have been trickier to solve than we'd hoped but we're getting there 👍
