I've never owned a Fold phone but I'm preferring the look of the 6 case.
I dropped a Nothing phone off 4 stories on a balcony. Zero... absolute zero damage. I wonder if this case can hold up in the same way for Samsung?!

Thank you for the review. Received the same phone and case 07/19/2024 and experienced the exact lack of adhesion on the outer left side edge when in closed position, but thought it was my error and I am glad to know it is actually a design flaw. Thank you for the in-depth analysis - not many people understand the significance of a ridge -- "mount everest" and "grand canyon" :) -- and the potential to impede efficient swiping.
Would you still recommend this case even with the adheaion issue?

Thank you so much for doing this comparison. I was debating on getting the case or not. I like the concept but didn't like how thick the Fold 5's was. This makes me a lot more comfortable picking up the Fold 6 spen case.

The new S Pen case is very slippery compared to my old Zfold5 S Pen case. My old case has a softer more comfortable feel to it. I'm hoping that an Oh Snap holder will stick to the new one. I couldn't get anything to stick to my old one.
I appreciate this video and its been noted that the case was slimmer but just exactly by how much. Theres no point reducing the weight of the Fold if the case adds weight. Fold 5 S pen case adds weight
I really appreciate the way you test your cases. Explaining the differences and actually testing swipes and adhesive. All important things when owning a case for a long time. Ive had folds since the fond 2, then 4 and now 6. But this year I really want to find a magsafe compatible spen case. Although, ive heard some of them affect writing on the inner screen. Whats your fav case so far?
Honestly, I've been mostly using my phone without a case since I got last week. I am considering going back to the s pen case though and just applying a better adhesive strip. I may try other cases from Amazon for youtube if there's enough interest.

it is a shame they did not put 2 little nibs. one at the top and one at the bottom on the opposite side of the Spen to stop that wobble. like other manafactures do . well some of them

@sammyswitch the grip is decent. It's a smooth texture, so it isn't the most grippy, but I never felt like I would accidentally drop the phone when it had the case on. Hopefully this helps.

Great review, thanks! Hopefully you will review some more official cases. As far as the case rocking a bit while laying flat on the table, it boggles me that Samsung couldn't add yet a small raised bump in the back of the case to even it out, like some other case brands did.
Yeah, it's pretty interesting because you would think that they would design a s pen case in a way where you can comfortably use the s pen on a table.
How come Samsung doesn’t make any cases that protect the hinge area, what happens if an accidental drop falls on it😩
Ya, they really should make those kinds of cases 😭
The Tech manuals for Samsung Z Fold repairs require hinge inspections, first thing. If there is even a little dent, they must deny any service, even for hinge unrelated problems. This is because the screen must be removed in almost all repair cases. It's real lame. It pretty makes the hinge protector or extra service plans mandatory.
Good question. They are offering a hinge protection case from another brand. I saw it at the NY location, but it's bulky. Samsung could make something slimmer.
I believe they aren't because they don't repair phones with hinge damage. It might be a slippery slope if people say "but you're hinge caused the damage".
For example, my one UI update damaged my phone making it a brick, but I can't prove that. A case might create a more direct correlation.
But there is a problem there when you will open your phone it will be bulky out from that side so that's gonna be so bad.
Could be to deny claims based on hinge but hinge protection does add so much bulk. It also often pops the front protector off when you try to open it up.

Any chance you could provide measurements of the thickness of the phone and case at it's thinnest and thickest points?
And when you put the phone in your pocket, do you feel it feels thicker and bulkier with the case on?
It's def adding bulk you can't physically have a case that doesn't add mm to the phone. I usually just put a skin on the back and sides but i did buy this case and will give it a try. If I don't like it it's going back to Samsung lol.
@alphaspartan Yeah just wondering if having access to an S Pen was worth giving up for thickness. I usually like to find the most minimal case and have been rocking a Later Case for my Fold3. Am debating between this S Pen case or the Spigen Air Skin.
@@daonei one idea I've had but haven't done yet is putting a pocket clip on the s pen and carrying it that way 🖊️ the s pen pro is so much better than the little baby s pen but if you lose it it's $100 to replace it :( decisions.
@alphaspartan Yeah, I already returned it, lol. It's really not bad at all, and the overall bulk is way better than the zf5 combo from last year. I just prefer the feel of the phone itself, and I still have my s pen pro.
