I've heard this song probably at least 20x and it always brings tears to my eyes. I'm watching it here and it has the same effect. I always make sure I have tissues ready when I see this movie! My husband always looks over at me when this part is showing and I'm sitting there bawling! : D
Did you see the recent video where the lady who sang this song was in the audience? It was the first time she'd seen it since it originally opened, and they got her to stand for a round of applause before the show, was quite surreal...
“One went home, one stayed behind, a cannonball dont pay no mind... A cannonball don’t pay no mind, if you’re gentle or you’re kind.” damn, that line and the visual of one of the brothers actually dead right there, always hits so hard.
I feel that the dialogue between the two brothers before the song fits with the country’s political age today. Everyone picks a side on everything and sometimes you have people in your family who are against your side. This can also relate to how there is still racism today.
What an amazing song. An Atom Bomb don't pay no mind. If you're gentle if you're kind. All on a beautiful morning. A treasure at Epcot. Thanks for posting this.
@bakinglady19 it's not illegal to record, it's just frowned upon if you are going to ruin the performance or ride for others trying to enjoy it. also, how did you find this video unless you searched for it? i also think it's people like you who ruin the magic that is disney by going out of your way to let others know you think they are rude. relax. no one is getting hurt. when you go to disney, just enjoy yourself and don't worry about what others are doing. that ruins the magic!!
Thanks for recording. Rumor is the attraction will be drastically changed along with the hall of presidents, splash mountain, and carousel of progress. So these recordings may be all there is for people to see and relive the original versions.
Anyone know if this was a particular family? I'm curious if the pictures were a real family, or did they get actors to dress up for the shots? Anyone know?
I dare someone to watch this then look me in the eye and say we should be tearing down Confederate statues that honor soldiers or serve as a gravestone for unidentified men...
No we shouldn't the Confederate soldiers was all so veterans believe or not before the civil war start the south fought with north in war of 1812, Including went to West point.
@@theanonymouscommenter5608 I’m more “north” than probably 95% of the Northeastern US population. I’m a northerner through and through. I would never be caught with a confederate flag and would find it obnoxious if anyone around me used it where I live. I am not arguing all of the common soldiery on the Confederate side were good people. However, there are good people that fight for causes that should never be fought for. This may shock you, but there were some real, actual genuine, and good people that fought for the Nazis. It is no different for the confederacy.
@@nepatrul6075 You're going down a slippery slope with highly questionable analogies that are ultimately unnecessary, because not only were the Confederates and Nazi Germans both fighting on behalf of very, VERY BAD causes, no matter which way you slice it, but the vast majority of statues and other memorials dedicated to Confederates are not even representations of "the common soldiery" or even unknown soldiers. They usually memorialize very specific, high-ranking members of the Confederacy, many of whom are on record as fully supporting the Confederate cause. These were no pitiful conscripts. So your entire argument is moot, and I'd gladly look you in the eye WHILE tearing down those statues.

Thank you for posting. I haven't been to see American Adventure for 25 years but this song has always stayed with me. Hauntingly simple and beautiful.
This is my favorite part of this show. Thanks for posting this
I've watched the American Adventure several times over the years, and I always find myself in tears at this part

I remember choking up on this part.

QUIET, BOTH OF YOU! You're gonna ruin ma's birthday.
So sad but so realistic ya know?

You're welcome. Just one note ... it's "cannonball don't pay no mind". No atomic bombs in the mid 19th century.
@@markel253 lmao I can't believe he thought it was atom bomb, but what a beautiful song, I love Disney

At Disneyland Anaheim this can be seen at the "Great Moments with Mr Lincoln" attraction.
Really! Wow that is awesome. It is one of the most memorable songs. That and One Little Spark. Not small world :)
This tears me up every time.
This is what made me cry years ago oml
5 people ruined Ma's birthday....
Heart wrenching stuff…
Thanks for sharing, doesn't ruin it for me because I will never get to go to Epcot so glad to see it!
Listened to this today, truly beautiful.
Such a great song.
This always makes me so sad :-(

Happy to report that The American Adventure is here to stay.
Two Brothers is really emotional
Just happened upon this, favorite thing ever next to my girlfriend
2:09 is sad because one brother would never come home
Anyone know if this was a particular family? I'm curious if the pictures were a real family, or did they get actors to dress up for the shots? Anyone know?
The brothers are Imagineers (the rest of the picture is a real photo) The train station at the end is actually the one at Disneyland :)
Prepare to RETURN FIRE

I’ll do it right now. The confederate brother was a traitor fighting for the institution of slavery.

@@xviper2k no, actually, it’s not moot. None of what you said refutes the original argument.
