Jono, thank you so much for all your content, I’ve been an avid follower of yours since long before your current 152 episodes began - I’ve only just sussed why I couldn’t post comments earlier!!! And my thanks to Will also 🙏😉🍻
Great work, as always. The Logic manual describes the numbers in ‘Correlation Pattern’ as a representation of virtual microphone positions in the reverb chamber. The number of correlation patterns depends on which mode you have selected (Simple, Medium, Complex). But be careful: using the same number for both channels produces a mono output.
What a brilliant educator you are. I'd love to see a break down of a full mix? I also believe Logic is truly the best DAW available. The producers I work with agree. I'm seriously tempted to contact you for private mentoring for the album I am co writing and co producing so I can up my own game.
Thanks. I've got the Yardstick 2402f and unfotunately the presets are not the same under Logic so it's hard to compare them. All I can say about the 3D sensation : it's definitely the same. My beloved Quantec is for sale.
It certainly represented a significant development back in the day. And to my ear, the Yardstick, in particular, is a fabulous addition in the here and now too.
Does any one per chance know how use the pattern region editor with a step number other than one divisible by 2. Trying to create a pattern in ⅞ and finding it seemingly impossible from the drop down menu. Jono, or anyone else? Thank you.
I know you can change the actual time signature of the Pattern Region to 7/8 while leaving the Global Signature in place. Select the pattern, open Inspector, look for the region section where you should see the option ‘time signature’ then set which ever signature you like. Visually it is going to look a little odd because Logic is looking for even subdivisions. It won’t let you enter an odd number so you have adjust the length of the region.
Thanks for your question. One way to do this is to use the Loop 'boundary' lines to loop only around 7 1/8th-note or 14 1/16th note steps within your Pattern Region. You can do this by selecting 'Loop' from the drop-down menu where Velocity will feature by default within any new Pattern Region. Click the final 16th note step and drag to the left until you only have 14 active steps left. Unfortunately, you will need to do this for every lane of your sequence.
@@lettucedraw._. Thanks so much. This really helps. I presumed Logic had implemented a neater solution and I was simply unaware of it. I'm sorry to hear I was wrong.
@@jonobuchananmusic Thanks very much. I presumed Apple had written the code to do this properly. I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't to tell you the truth. But your work around will help at least to get the ideas down.
Another cracking explanation, thanks as always Jono
Many thanks, Ed. Much appreciated.

Thanks so much, Derek - that's hugely appreciated. All best wishes to you.
A thorough explanation which is thoroughly appreciated. I can’t wait to start experimenting … thank you 👍
Thank you Peter. I hope you love it!

Super, that's a very neat summary. Thanks for sharing it.
Been waiting for this!!
Great! Hope it's useful now that it's arrived... ; )
Appreciate the humor and sarcasm. 👍
Thanks but I hope there isn't too much of the latter (except at my own expense...)!

Thanks so much, Mark. Super kind words.
I literally went to make this huge cup of tea and after I press play, you say that.
We're in sync! Big tea is always the right tea.
Good Job Jono. As usual.
Natural teacher.
Thanks so much.
Cheers Jono. Great deep dive. The opposite of "sensible" is "foolish" 🤣
You think I’d be able to remember that bearing in mind it’s my middle name… 😉
Thanks.

take a shot every time he says "effectively." (sorry jono love you)
🤣 Effectively, you’d be hammered.
Nonsensical? This is an extremely helpful video. Thx so much
That's the one! Thank you too.
Bounced that tail, reversed it and chopped it yet? 😆 Excellent thank you Jono
I sure have. Have you?! You're welcome.
I'd never heard of the Quantec. Was it really that good?

Mmmmm. "Space Tea".
Otherwise known as ‘zero gravi-tea’.
@@jonobuchananmusic ha! I would love to steal that idea and use it for my special Space Tea marketing.
great one Jono, thank you. 🤍🤍🤍
You're most welcome, as always.
