    Jono, you're by far the best music production teacher I've come across! Your humor always cracks me up and keeps me entertained during my learning, and what’s truly inspiring is how you achieve incredible results using only Logic’s stock plugins. After watching this another video from you, I’ve decided to dive into all your other videos! Your teaching style is too good to miss! Thank you for being here!

    The processing on the audio with the crazy notes that end on Bb sounds amazing!

      Thanks - it definitely helps to have some less linear sounds in Risers to keep them a bit more edgy.

      @@jonobuchananmusic Hey Jono sorry for my delay.... Maybe you should design plugins that...Maybe destroying the philosophy of being inventive such as the way you are presenting to us all... Being an Intel chap Jono and my iMac only 4.5 years old I`m a little aggravated by Apple`s stance on not giving us Intel guys the same as the Silicon chaps in Logic updates... I Purchased my Logic Pro with this machine & absolutely Love the capabilities within... And off course grateful for the items I have included for free... I`d just love your opinion on something that not many are covering on this situation.... (When I purchased my Logic Pro it does not stipulate that ahead I will not get exclusion of certain elements so freely given to guys that have new iMacs ?) I Simply Love your videos and always when time allows watch with great Interest... Thanks Jono !!!

    Dear Jono, thank you for this amazing tutorial, as always, just one question, you mentioned this shortcut "shift + backslash" at 2:57 to extend a note on the entire length of its midi region, but I couldn't make it work on Logic Pro 11.0.1 and I couldn't find it in the manual, can you enlighten me please ?

    • @jonobuchananmusic
      @jonobuchananmusic  Месяц назад +1

      Hi. Absolutely. This is a feature which, until very recently, used to be called 'Force Legato'. It allows you to select a number of MIDI notes (either a single line or chords) and to make them 'hold' until the next note comes along. It's an incredibly helpful way of turning short notes into long ones, or to fill in the gaps between a sequence of notes. This function is now called 'Note End To Following Notes'. In the Piano Roll display, highlight a selection of notes and then head to Edit > Trim and towards the bottom of the list, you'll see a couple of options. I'd suggest using the one with the 4 Ticks Overlap.

    Great again! Thank you so much but!!! Why why why not the keyboard viewer instead of saying the shortcuts? That would be wonderful to see the key commands/combinations as well. We all know very well that Will knows how to visualise it ;-) Will! Please please do it Will! Will you? ;-) Thank you! :)

    • @jonobuchananmusic
      @jonobuchananmusic  Месяц назад +1

      Aha! It's a good question. Will and I have been back and forward on this - for all of the upside of displaying the Key Commands which ARE of use, there are so many which will get used in the course of making a video which are extraneous and even distracting - such as pressing Play, or Stop several times per episode. So we tend to leave them in only for the episodes which are Key Command-heavy and I name the ones I'm using instead (as in this video). Neither system is perfect, unfortunately!
