Love how many otters there are in Edinburgh! Another thing that makes the city so special!

Very different video this time. I like it!
I've played this waiting game outside my house, in the backyard, with hummingbirds. One of the last times I decided to lie on the floor beneath a big plant that has a lot of flowers that they seem to like. One of my aunts saw me and she thought I had fainted. I think I got a photo at least!

Cool post and images. Good outcome considering fl limits. Would a polarizing filter have been practical for this venture to reduce water glare?

Hi Paul! It might have been useful actually and I didn't consider it when packing for the shoot. Only downside I can think of was that it was quite dark when I first got there and already had to boost my iso to keep a fast shutter speed. My polariser takes off about a stop of light so I'd have had to boost that iso even further.

I've seen them in the Water of Leith a few times and I think around some of the other lochs around the Arthur's Seat area

I rocked up on my bike yesterday afternoon, saw everyone staring into the loch and stopped to see what was going on. It is slightly ironic that you have done a video on how to shoot otters and then moan that people will turn up and may scare it off

Absolutely outrageous that there should be live mammals on people public display. These carnivores should be restricted to areas protected from the general public and open only to the correct type of person, men and women of pedigree who have paid or at least able to pay some kind of surcharge to distinguish between the right type of people. Some tourists are ok I suppose but not those foreigners, and certainly not the natives.

You need to get help. It was of course people of pedigree that whipped out the population of Otters in the first place selling their fur and of course stopping the taking the fish they watched to catch. I fully agree the majority of humans should be banned from nature full stop, but charging folk like me who live for nature is not the answer.
