My issue is my stubby impacts have spent more time being sent back than in the shop and i can’t keep a battery in them because of the vibration and they fall out. My 2767 if you point it down the battery goes forward and it won’t even run. The light will come on but nothing else. You have to use a battery strap on them. And to top of off they JUST CAME BACK FROM WARRANTY! My hammer drill is the 1/2” m18 and it was so crappy it was sent off 3 times and Joe just gave me a new one off the truck this last time because it came back and put a battery on it and pointed it down to the ground and nothing…. Wouldn’t do squat. Hold it regular and it runs or point it up and it runs. Shake it, nothing. Shake it again and it runs.
I have to say we haven't had any problems with our Milwaukee tools so far and everything is the Milwaukee fuel series and mostly now the brushless stuff M18 and some M12 tools... Our batteries are mainly 9 amp and 12 amp for the M18 fuel tools and they're heavy and yes I've heard other people and even local people that has had a problem here and there with their Milwaukee stuff and I guess we better knock on wood with ours because they're used everyday in the body shop and collision repair business.... If we ever have a problem with any of the Milwaukee tools then I would admit to it most definitely but it would still be replaced by another Milwaukee tool without any hesitation... As far as DeWalt tools, we like the tools but never could get any life out of their batteries and always made sure they were charged properly but battery life just never seemed to work in our favor with a DeWalt and air is primary to begin with in body Shop work and mechanic type work but the air tools will always be Snap-On and they absolutely cost a fortune but they're worth every penny
Congrats on that! I have two stubby impacts and you can’t keep the batteries in them and my 2767 if you point it down without a battery strap on it, it goes off
We talked about that before there’s no battery manufactures in the USA because of lithium so it wouldn’t matter anyways the batteries couldn’t be made here
Yeah it doesn’t bother me any I’m not paid or sponsored by Milwaukee or Snap On so I could care less. All I can do is speak for myself.
I haven’t had problems with either Milwaukee or snap on. If your Milwaukee is fucking up you can buy 2 more for the price of 1 snap on so it’s not a huge deal

M-12 battery little plastic ears do break off Loses connection. The vibration of the gun will rattle the battery out, I don't hold the trigger that long for that reason. I thought about buying one of those eBay m12 Knock off batteries. For the case. I just can't part with my Milwaukee stubbies i’ve only broken two of my m-12 batteries use them for my radio
I've never had a problem with my Milwaukee tools personally I'm a industrial electrician I use my M12 and M18 and I have not encountered that issue prehabs working on whatever's you work on causes that problem but of that issue was nearly as common as you say nobody would use it .
If you will look online you will see plenty of posts and blogs and comments about the battery issues. The m12 stubby the design can’t handle the vibration of the tool and it causes the battery to fall out or drop down enough to loose connection. I have no issue with Milwaukee in fact if you will look at the torque tests I do the Milwaukee is clearly the winner every time on every tool we test. It is what it is, I just tell people what I know because of use. I’m not sponsored by MILWAUKEE or Snap On and don’t own stock in either company. No clue and apparently I’m not alone with the amount of Milwaukee stuff that’s on every truck to be sent back. All I know is after I got the m12 stubby after about 3 weeks of use the vibration caused the batteries to start to slide down loosing contact. Then they started falling out. Same way with my m18 2767 and my hammer drill. If you point them down without a battery strap they loose contact and The biggest battery I have is the 5amp. In fact all the batteries I own are the ones that came with them as kits as that’s how I always buy them.
I have a m18 Milwaukee sawzall that I’ve used now 3-4 years and one of my brand new batteries blew apart at the 2 rear screws that hold the case together while I was cutting a piece of plate aluminum and whenever I went onto e-service they wanted a proof of purchase and I bought the battery at Home Depot but I didn’t keep the receipt and I bought it on my Home Depot credit card and I contacted them and they couldn’t send me anything to prove I bought it from Home Depot so needless to say I’m pissed and I am done with Milwaukee, I have every impact they have and the grease gun the drills 12 and 18 volt and I’m disgusted that they won’t stand behind a battery that’s less than 6 months old !!!
Might I add I never have dropped this battery either! I say that because I know somebody was gonna say something about me dropping it or something stupid!
So how does a DIY guy who might buy a used Snap-On tool and doesn't have a receipt go about warrantying? Let's use that CT 761 as an example. I highly doubt a truck dealer is going to warranty it. Does a guy have to send it in? Need a receipt?

@@KoonTrucking that’s odd I would’ve never thought it was an issue I’ve lived all over the PNW and everywhere I’ve worked Milwaukee is almost everyone’s go to once it comes to power tools. But I do love snap on’s hand tools. Undefeated
@@danielcervantes5910 well it’s obvious that Milwaukee knows about the issue they just haven’t fixed it. There plenty of message boards and “How to keep your Milwaukee batteries from coming loose” and “Milwaukee battery wobble issues” videos and how to fix it and tips and trick videos. Hell even JDTCO. Made battery straps for the M18 batteries to keep them tight so they don’t loose connection.
@@KoonTrucking I’m not saying it’s not an issue I just would’ve never imagined it being an issue given how much I use my m12 stuff. Just like you sometimes have trouble taking the snap on battery off I first had the same issue with my 3/8 stubby and ratchet. Guess I’ve just been real lucky
The right way is to squeeze the tabs and hit the battery on the edge of your tool box.
I got both. They good!
Well I’m hear you tell ya I have never had any issue with a Milwaukee battery falling out.
Congratulations on that because I’ve had enough issues for everyone
Doesn't mean clay hasn't tho
@@brettwalkom948 even did a video on it showing it happen on a 2767 and a drill that JUST CAME BACK FROM WARRANTY! That’s when I got the battery straps
@@KoonTrucking I know.. Just amazes me that he thinks because he's never had an issue.. no one's ever had an issue...
Hamilton is like did clay have a camera in my room lol
I've never had an issue with any of my m18 or m12... I have 25 batteries, and almost all the impacts use them daily with zero oooo battery issue.... Got rid of all my snap on junk due to batteries dying... And shit warranty... Have to pay and send it in... Milwaukee 4 year warranty.... No money spent... Milwaukee is the better deal 🤣😎😎
Also to add to this...
Love the channel and content I truly do.... I understand there is different strokes for different folks... I hear milwaukee junk and it sparks that fuse in my brain like hey that's what I use daily to make my money lol butttt those new brushless long necks from snap on I may revisit the snap on for that
Also i own alot of snap on stuff not saying any of their products are horrible, but their batterys aren't the greatest...
I have the 3/8 and the 1/2 never had battery issues
I was told by a Snap-on rep that there was a lawsuit between milwaukee and Snap-on over the battery's do you know if this is true or not
Yes its true. Milwaukee sued or is suing snap-on, because they used Milwaukee's battery technology.
I’ve heard they sued them over the 18 volt stuff
I dropped my 3/8 m12 stubby and the battery doesn’t seem to hold to good but never falls out
The famous saying. U get what u pay for
There are college games on Friday night lol 😂
Been waiting on dis all week
Me too
I have to say we haven't had any problems with our Milwaukee tools so far and everything is the Milwaukee fuel series and mostly now the brushless stuff M18 and some M12 tools...
Snap on ain’t really any better the batteries might not fall off but the guns don’t exactly last 😂
I’ve had great luck with the 3/8” ct761. Now the polisher …… uhm not so much !
I owed 15 milwaukee tools and never have had battery fallen. I Own impacts of all kind and all my batteries stay put..
Congrats on that! I have two stubby impacts and you can’t keep the batteries in them and my 2767 if you point it down without a battery strap on it, it goes off
Hell yea it's finally friday!!!
Great video 👍
I didn’t know Snap On was carrying Milwaukee tools, how long have they been doing that?
They can order them from the supplemental catalog
I think if you can prove you have a heartbeat and the means to buy a few tools you can be a Milwaukee dealer.
I love my 14.4 tools, but dang i wish they were made in USA for the money they cost. Or at least assembled. Something. lol
We talked about that before there’s no battery manufactures in the USA because of lithium so it wouldn’t matter anyways the batteries couldn’t be made here
Yeah the batteries are all made overseas, but the tools could be made here for the money they get. Not like they have lifetime warranty to cover lol
Oh hey, I never noticed that. My CTR767 says assembled in US of US and foreign components. GDR861 all made in China.
Do you notice how all the Milwaukee guys get so defensive about their tools/ that speaks for itself
Yeah it doesn’t bother me any I’m not paid or sponsored by Milwaukee or Snap On so I could care less. I just know the ONLY issue I have ever had with Milwaukee is the battery problems with them due to vibration. Yes I know Snap On cost more and isn’t as strong but they always work when I need them. All I can do is speak for myself.
Hot Springs... you weren’t very far from my neck of the woods
Haha I only run if someone is chasing me!😂
Damn snap on and their 14.4 battery magnets
Tools, cameras, etc.....no matter the cost, if you cannot depend on them to be reliable, then your dollars are misspent.
Exactly
I haven’t had problems with either Milwaukee or snap on. If your Milwaukee is fucking up you can buy 2 more for the price of 1 snap on so it’s not a huge deal
I’ve been having a problem with one of my 14.4 volt batteries losing connection with my ct761 but my other battery has no problems. I’ve already had it replaced too so I’m really not sure what’s going on
That's odd, I would show the dealer and let him take a look at that, maybe a bad port on the battery or something?
I just got an old school snap-on KV probe MT2700 off marketplace for $20 was that a good deal?
Yep
will hamilton ship to uk , we can't buy the snap on heated jackets in uk , as snap on don't import them because there not ce approved , could you find out for me please ,
He won’t sell outside his route at all because of the franchise rules
M-12 battery little plastic ears do break off
Loses connection.
Makes me ZERO difference how people spend their money. I just tell people so nobody is shocked when it happens.
@@KoonTrucking I think that Milwaukee has a major design flaw that there ignoring because of the positive feedback from the many customers who don't have this problem so they've yet to develop a fix for it , it's alot like the shockwave bits where they have a major flaw that Milwaukee completely ignores because of good feedback
@@KoonTruckingI did discover your channel a few hours ago and I do very much enjoy the Channel I'm just sharing my experience with Milwaukee as a Electrician wear my tools isn't placed in that awkward positions or breaking loose heavily torqued bolts the biggest bolt I work with is a 15/16tg bolt used with cast iron pipe in our factory , But say for a professional like you you're working on bolts that are torque speced and in awkward positions, and don't get me wrong I have M12 impact and hammer drill a M18 grinder and Kobalt XTR drill and impact and Sawzall, the rest of my Milwaukee is PPE as they have pretty good PPE and the wrench set I bought earlier after watching your vidja so I'm far from a fan boy I like good tools and Tools that work .
Love your show
I’m getting into auto Mechanic an I can’t Afford to get snap on or any tool truck tools
You will. Those truck accounts help
Knock on wood I have not had any battery problems with my Milwaukee tools.
Hamilton didn’t get kicked out this time..?
Haha
Clay I swear never once had battery fall off or then to not work lol I left one In a oil drain pan and it got soaked for a whole day cause I didn’t find it until I drained the pan over 10 gals of oil, my impact m18 and such I’ve dropped it off John Deere machines like log loaders and such right on gravel and no battery has fell off or any electrical issue.. I swear I’m not lying! Lol I ain’t tryna protec or say Milwaukee is the shit I just saying I never had any batteries fall off or stop working nor has anyone in my shop that I’ve seen but weird
If you will notice on all our tool trucks there’s always Milwaukee batteries and tools laying on the floor. Those are to be sent back for warranty. If it weren’t an issue why do we have such trouble? Why do they make battery straps? Why are there forums online talking about how to fix this issue ?
@@KoonTrucking I honestly couldn’t tell ya that part.. over here on the west coast you see snap on tools on the floors of our tool truck being sent out for repair or warranty or some matco stuff and maybe a little dewalt, but the only Milwaukee that I have seen just flat out quit working was my co workers 3/8 impact and that’s because it got ran over by a 2754 JD log loader that is the only time I have seen that. Everyone runs the Milwaukee in my shop and the high torque 1/2 and no one in my shop ever heard of straps or had to send there gun in over the course of the years and no one has had there battery ever fly off.. idk maybe it’s that eastern coast air that just fucks shit all up? East coast guys seem to struggle with simple things every now and then.😂 haha but I could not tell you klay
@@trev9177 and for the record it’s Clay not Klay but I don’t know about East and west coast air but I just know what happens here ? I will start showing the piles on the trucks so you can see
@@KoonTrucking all good, and sorry about that my phone corrects every word I type I hate it sometimes. And not trying to argue or anything just simple conversation is all, not saying you are lying I just never seen this issue lol,
I never had any issues with my Milwaukee’s
You have to put the rtv under the tabs before they break though. the m12 batteries suck just a dab will do ya. Too much and you cant push in to remove them
The white powder is glass fiber. The plastic is reinforced with glass fiber. Milwaukee, Dewalt, Ryobi and Ridgid cordless tools are all made under license for Stanley black and decker by a company called TTi from hongkong!
Dewalt is produced by Stanley Black and Decker, and many are assembled in the USA. The craftsman line is also manufactured by them. TTI produces Milwaukee, Rigid and Ryobi. As well as Hart and hoover and Bissel
Stanley black and decker has nothing to do with tti
I use both milwaukee and snap-on I have had the worst luck with m12 battery's I had 5 2 year old battery die on me
Hotty toddy y’all! Hope y’all watching the game today
Oh yeah it’s going to be a good one. Pretty cool they are retiring Eli’s #10 jersey and have the end zones painted with “Manning” on them. Going to be fun to watch
@@KoonTrucking yes sir absolutely! This is my first weekend off since I’ve started my new shift so I finally get to watch a game this year
JDTCO seeks boots that hold the battery to the tool guess that that best fix
Friday!
Snap -awwnnn😂
Snap On Friday !!
The problem i got with snap on is the price and the warranty, then you have to pay for the warranty it’s stupid
I don’t have an issue because for $125 you get a brand new gun. New housing, new everything. My impact was probably 5-6 years old. Sent it in and it looked brand new when it came back
Hamilton was at the rub and tug? Lol
Snap on uses an old part from the tool you send in that way they class it is as a rebuild.
Massagie Massagie 👍🏽
Hope no one got pushed into a pool...
I really enjoy your videos but I just can't figure out how you have had milwaukee batteries fall out so easily. I have 10 different m12 tools, 4 different m18 tools and I do mechanic work for a living too. I have used many of these tools for well over 2 years and have never ever had that issue with my m12 or m18s. The m18 battery is kinda sloppy and I don't care for that but I have never had it fall out. Even after letting my m18 1/2 high torque hammer facing straight down. I'm not so much of a Milwaukee fan boy that I am against other brands. I also own some 14.4 snap on, dewalt and waiting for some MAC 12v tools but It seems like im always grabbing my milwaukees over anything else. I really hate that you have had such a bad experience with them.
They sucks
They both sound like they could be forest Gumps brother/ cousin
I bought a millwaukee 18 volt grinder and it was crap died out in a week
Does this guy ever sell anything off the truck?
So how does a DIY guy who might buy a used Snap-On tool and doesn't have a receipt go about warrantying? Let's use that CT 761 as an example. I highly doubt a truck dealer is going to warranty it. Does a guy have to send it in? Need a receipt?
If it is out of warranty 1 year yes you send it in and pay $125 for a full refurb
I buy plenty of tools used. Including 14.4 and 18v. If I have a problem I give it to the dealer and it gets repaired or replaced. No receipts required and no questions ask. Just great service. I have both brands but always come back to my 14.4. I have only had on battery go bad. O have had plenty of issues with the tabs on the MW. They have not warranted any of them.
Finally!!!
