I now know why Kevin Conroy didn't voice act in this game and it's perfect that he didn't. Here, we have a Batman who has only been at this for about 2 years or so. He is full of anger and is vengeful against the criminals of Gotham, his punches and kicks are literally his words when he fights, almost like a man who is trying to release stress. The Batman Kevin Conroy voice acts is level-headed, calm and knows what he's doing about 90% of the time. Kevin's level of Batman would not have been a good match for this rookie Batman.
Fucking precisely, my boy. Good shit, I’m real glad to see you complement the choice these dudes choose a different voice actor for a different Batman
I actually really liked this VO for Batman - i thought it worked rly well
@@Killzone73649 Who's voicing him here? Sounds familiar

Alfred can never own Batman 😎
@@brucew565 Tell me, do you read?
You can't truly appreciate this scene if you don't realize how Bruce evolves throughout the game.
When you think about it, Arkham Origins serves as a Year One story for the Arkham series.
Warrior Born At the start, we see Batman brush off the idea that 8 elite assassins were sent after him. How Batman’s dismissing Alfred’s concerns every time he brings up his safety, the fact that he believes the GCPD has failed Gotham and that Batman alone is the one and only bastion protecting it from evil. But as the game progresses, we see that Batman can’t handle everything alone, especially when he doesn’t let anyone in, especially after Bane got to Alfred. That’s when Bruce realizes that he can be Gotham’s protector, it’s Hero because of the people he can trust and rely on, starting with Alfred. Then Gordon, Barbara, and so on. This arrogant Batman saw himself as omnipotent, but what he needed was some humility, and accept Bruce’s humanity, and to finally let people in
@@dongbong7405 kinda reminds me of Noel
@@dongbong7405 well at least Bruce wasn't Tony Stark.
Well, it's real strong even without any game experience. Like I played Arkham Asylum and City only (Knight didn't work on my computer, unfortunately).
"you're a young man with a trust fund and too much anger"
alfred is always spot on with his analysis of bruce. he is pure rage in this game, and it sometimes blinds him to what he is becoming, but alfred is always there to drag him down to earth
Yea but think about it though bruce is also smarter and he's a master of multiple different fighting styles

This game is so underrated. The writing in here is phenomenal.
@killwill83 and city is a carbon copy of asylum you fuck. You ppl just hate on origins at any chance you get.
Gwynblaidd I agree the game is such a masterpiece of writing and emotion. Honestly origins made me feel more for Batman and Alfred than the rocksteady Arkham games.
Gwynblaidd it would’ve been better if not for two things:
1: it’s a prequel to the Arkham series so any “oh no, is this person going to die” moments are invalid and the writing doesn’t match what was established.
2. Joker steals the story and that is unforgivable. Black mask should’ve been the main guy, and joker should’ve been a side antagonist.
It had the fault of making Joker the main villain AGAIN. I would have been fine with Black Mask.
As far as the map and most of the environments go, it’s easily the least interesting for me, but I honestly think it has the best story.
The main series is bigger stakes and feels like a comic book story which is cool in its own right, but the fact that the concept of a younger Batman requires small stakes and more grounded foes made Arkham Origins feel more intimate.
It’s more of a classic crime drama story than a big comic book epic, about a man waging his own war on crime and discovering depths of depravity in humanity that he didn’t realize existed. The Christmas Eve setting is classic and the more grounded villains and focus on detective elements make this feel like more of a crime story along the lines of Year One, Killing Joke, and The Dark Knight and that smaller scale allows the character drama some room to really shine.
"No, not may be! I am!" So badass.

Hands down best cutscene in game.
Hmm, the "other scene" with Alfred is also quit powerfull.
But this one's also damn good, I hope the sequel they make will knock us DOWN!
Hopefully a sequel to City, not a sequel to Origins that takes place after origins and before asylum. That would just be confusing.

I see "Origins 2" in term of: 'The opening(night, if you want :-) ) of the Arkham Assylum. And it all go's to hell :-D '.
Origins didn't dissapoint me, problem was I think that everyone was expecting to much of it.
It should have been more "teased" as previous Arkham games, in stead of shown, so that our expectations were in check.
But Origins could have been better on certain points, where-as Assylum and City, both nailed right on top both times.
Nick De Pauw That's cool. I'm actually writing my own script for a tv show called Arkham (yes based on Arkham city)
Whut?
Hard to believe :-) .
And sinds you're using a alias, I won't known if your really one of the writers. Unless you actually will use it in the credits of the TV-show ;-) :-D .

Some of the things I love in any Batman media is whenever Alfred step up against Batman and speaks his mind. I mean, yes Batman made a promise to his dead parents, but none the less it still shows the human side of their conflict. Alfred is not only Bruce Wayne's butler, he is the closest Bruce has to a father, he raised him after his parents died and even though Alfred supports Batman's war on crime he still fears for Bruce's safety, as a parent should. He wants to help him as best as he can but he don't want to see the man, he has cared for all those years like a son destroy himself, so that's why I just love scenes like these. Not only does it show how much heart Alfred has got, but it also shows how much courage he has got
Rasmus Thyrring Personally I don't think Alfred has much guts for standing up to Bruce for one reason. Bruce could never hurt Alfred and never in my life have I seen Bruce hurt him. Not to mention the fact that knowing that person for their whole life kinda makes it to where no matter what that person does he won't fear him.
You said it best Rasmus. I love this cut scene so damn much. I wish this was in the movies.
Rasmus Thyrring 'am i "all right"? no sir, my son has just died.'

It might have been a better game, but the story in Origins is far more interesting.
+Chlebakk not a better game, but the game that incorporated all the elements and Origins expanded a little more on that.
And yes, my favorite Arkham game is Origins. Love it! And the acting is so on spot.
+NinjaArthur Arkham City was not better. Stop telling yourself that. Idc if it's your opinion. The story for this game is better and what makes it even better is that Batman is brutal as f.
NinjaArthur I beat the whole game buddy. It's not better than Arkham Origins besides a bigger city and less bugs.
Origins did indeed have the best writing, but it was contrived and unbelievable that Batman meets every significant character in his mythos for the first time on the same night.
Why do all the Arkham games have to take place in one night? Many shorter games span a longer time period. It takes me about a month just to finish the main story missions in the Arkham series.

This scene was perfectly written. Bruce has spent years of his life devoted to nothing but preparing himself for this, he's traveled, suffered and given everything for it, blood sweat and tears. Alfred is trying to use logic and reason to save losing the most important person in his life but he can't see that this isn't the little boy he raised anymore. That boy died in a dark alleyway a long time ago. Alfred is still looking past the cowl at the man underneath but that man is just a shell now. He needs to understand that this isn't Bruce Wayne pretending to be a vigilante, Bruce is who he is pretending to be and the cowl is who he really is now.
darthkahn45 so Bruce is playing vigilante
@@MrBrandonStar yea basically. This weenie didnt have to write a synopsis about it.

Can we stop using metaphors here, just say batman is the real personality of bruce and his social life is just a disguise.
“You are outmatched by these assassins.” These words. These damn words. They hit batman so hard even superman can’t.
I love how, despite Bruce being outmatched, he still manages to keep his self confidence, and use every fibre of his being into stopping the Assassins of Gotham.
And win...
And all in one night.

According to the comics, every night Bruce leaves to crusade, Alfred sits next to an old phone. It's the estate's public landline, and it hasn't rang since the night of Thomas and Martha's murder. He's terrified that some day it will ring once again, this time to announce the death of the man he considers his son.
This is where Alfred learns that Bruce is the mask, and Batman is the man. Quite different from the Nolan film which is using DC source material anyways
You’re right, when Wonder Woman used her lasso of truth on herself, superman and Batman to reveal each other’s secret identities. Superman replied Clark Kent, Wonder Woman replied Diana of themyscira and Bruce replied Batman

@@abielm8467 alright thanks
@@abielm8467 I agree with you, well sort of. While, yes Batman is often depicted as the real identity, in the Arkham games both could be considered part of Bruce, take for example the end of Knight, where he takes off his mask to see his city as Bruce Wayne one last time, even in this game he mentions making a promise to his parents, that’s Bruce Wayne talking. So while yes, Batman is often depicted as his “real” identity, personally I think Bruce is just as much part of him as Batman in this. But the nice thing about this legendary character is it can be interpreted in so many ways. Which is why I think he’s the best fictional character of all time, the sheer depth of his character.

1:31 This for some reason really gets me emotional. You can see in the actor’s performance all the emotion from Alfred. He’s honestly distraught, thinking he’s failed of caring for the boy he swore to look after.
Alfred may not approve of Bruce being Batman, but he is always there for him. He knows Bruce more than anybody. Others seem him as rich guy with gadgets who also have social issues, but Alfred knows the pain Bruce went through ever since he was a child.

That scene is awesome. It really conveys Batman's motives well, also it portrays Batman's determination, willpower, reasoning very well too, voice acting from both parties are also great. Alfred's perspective is also true, but Batman's reply is conclusive, because he is also right. He managed to become a symbol of fear for predatory and a symbol of protection for the innocent.
Batman: "Alfred who do you see when you look at me? The boy whos' shoes you used to tie every morning? The teenager you drove to his first date? While you are here every night, I am out there. this is my favorite cutscene in arkham origins. this scene is full of emotions and so powerful.
arkham origins had its flaws but it had the best storyline around batman because it goes deep in batman psyche.
i would like to see scenes like this one play out between ben affleck and jeremy irons.
the dialogue was so intelligent and rich, i am blown away by this and this is the reason why i love batman and the entire mythos that was built around the greatest character ever created!
He's such a bad ass
I actually like this Batman, a more younger and a angrier one, and the fact the Gotham is scared shirtless of him
I feel sorry for Alfred
Is it just me, or did the cut scenes for Arkham Origins just feel more cinematic than Arkham Knight overall? Arkham Knight had great moments in the story, don't get me wrong, but I never felt like I was playing a movie like in Arkham Origins. With more involved boss battles, it really felt like I was controlling the action against the main villains, as opposed to Arkham Knight briefly turning into sort of a point and click game from time to time, and me just doing what the instructions said. Then there are scenes like this, where despite the graphics not being amazing, it really looks like two characters are talking to each other due to the realistic expressions on their faces. Arkham Knight had much more realistic graphics, but all of the emotion came from the voice actors, not the animation behind the character models unfortunately.
I agree. That's what I was kind of wondering why Arkham Knight didn't REALLY keep this. Knight was still good but you know...
How tf are the graphics not amazing? are you serious? You morons want shit to look like real life.
the developers said they were going for a more cinematic experience, so they used motion capture for the cutscenes
Robert Wild I think it's because they wanted to amplify on other things like the combat and the batmobile considering the famous car has not been in the last three games, they must've really wanted to have a lot of it in there so people would feel like it was worth the wait. I mean if you can glide around the whole time and it being much faster then the batmobile then what would be the point of adding it in.
Yeah I honestly never played Arkham Origins, just went back to watch RUclips clips of it and it looks amazing. It's a shame to hear it got a low rating due to bugs and lagginess. There's so much tension and the emotions are just there, the storyline is amazing. Arkham Knight didn't feel like there was much going on for it. It felt like they were trying to hype up Jason and Scarecrow, but it sort of fell short. Should've kept it to one main villain. Scarecrow's voice acting was amazing though

This game’s story is damn near flawless!
The voice casting is perfect for younger versions of the characters.
This is the moment Bruce became Batman.
I Almost thought he'd say " I'm the one who knocks".
Damn this game needs a remaster
When this game first came out I was triggered that Joker was yet again the main antagonist and not Black Mask but now I see that it's perfect for the Arkham verse story. Origins being the origins of Batman and joker's relationship. I love the writing with how both of them are think of the other after their first real encounter and then get confronted by their inner motivations.
Joker doesnt understand why batman saved him but grows to realize that he needs him and he gives him purpose. While batman is confronted by Alfred who seriously doubts his mission and Batman has to lay it all out as to why he needs to go after criminals but these super criminals like the joker are something else
Batman is many things, modest is not one of them.

Despite Origins not being the best, I think we can all agree it was a great insight into batman, we needed this game since Arkham Knight is the last, this would always be the missing piece, I think WB Montreal did a great job, something to quench our thirst while we wait for Rocksteadys masterpiece.
