- Batman™: Arkham Origins is the next installment in the blockbuster Batman: Arkham videogame franchise. Developed by WB Games Montréal, the game features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline set several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, the first two critically acclaimed games of the franchise. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous criminals, the game showcases a young and unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight.

This was the first time in a video game I'd ever seen characters interrupting eachother in a way that sounded completely natural. It makes the scene feel so much more like a real argument. The apology immediately afterwards especially feels true to life.
“What are you do-“
“I’m what ?”
“You may be-“
“No I AM!!”
@@LAGator-qu7tc what
@@owenjones7522 it was everything Batman said as he got cut off by Alfred in the argument before he started is he is the knight speech
GTA 4 has good dialogue
Batman Arkham, Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, The Witcher, Spider Man PS4.
All of these games have great writing and amazing character acting.
This is literally the Arkham version of "I am the one who knocks!"
I haven't watched Breaking Bad yet, but yeah, that was what I was thinking.
@@twinzzlersyou should it's amazing
PERFECT comparison
Funny how both scenes were in 2013
"I am not in the danger, Alfred. I AM THE DANGER!"
That is fear. That is what I am. That is why they hired assassins, because I am the reason criminals breathe easier when the sun rises. So no Alfred, I am not over my head. But tonight will not be my end, but it will be theirs".
This quote alone, embodies all of what Batman is.
"Youre a young man with a trust fund and too much anger"
Batman in a nutshell.
Though he's also the shadow that makes the criminals think twice
He is also a man of intense focus and unshakable resolve.
“Alfred, I am not IN danger, I AM THE DANGER”
Shut up Alfred I’m cooking me- criminals
Kevin Conroy will always be THE Batman voice but Roger Craig Smith delivered so hard in this scene that I can't imagine anyone else doing so.
Facts
so weird knowing he is also the voice of Mirage from Apex
The meatriding is crazy.
@@dale3797 genuinely shut up this isn't even meat riding
Damn now I'm imagining Sonic dressed as Batman
Roger Craig Smith is such an underrated Batman voice. You really feel like you're watching the same Batman Conroy voices in the other games in this series while he doesn't feel like he's directly copying Conroy.
I love seeing a younger and more brutal Batman. One who doesn’t fight to bring Gotham hope and save people but to take his anger out for what was taken from him
That's basically The Batman movie
I pity Alfred. Bruce was trained to never show fear, never hesitate and never back down from a confrontation. The boy who left never returned. In all the years Bruce was Batman, night after night this was Alfred's mindset. Put aside by the thought that Mr and Mrs Wayne would be proud.
The boy who left never returned what do you mean?
@@jae1757 bruce left for training and when he came back he wasn't the same boy that alfred knew because he was more serious and dark
@@aidansl so he killed his old self? and where did he train the league of shadows right?
@@jae1757 he didn't kill his old self he just supressed his emotions more to become more serious, and he was trained by many different people
@@aidansl he was trained to surpress his emotions to not show them?
Such a powerful cutscene with great voice acting! One of the reasons why I love this game!
This scene is so powerful, and it is perfect for an audition monologue
“I am the one who knocks, Alfred.”
Always loved this scene because it shows Alfred see’s Bruce as his own Child and after what happened to his Parents in his childhood he’s afraid he’ll lose him to crime.
That scene is awesome! It really conveys Batman's motives well, also it portrays Batman's determination, willpower, reasoning very well too, voice acting from both parties are also great.
Some of the best voice work Roger Craig Smith has done.
“NO not maybe, I AM”
some times people forget that batman had to learn lessons to become the best at what he does
Exactly. Even Batman started off somewhere. Over the years, he's learned better
@@aaronkenyon7112in the movie flash “take it from a old guy who made a lot of mistake” saying pride anger and many other things will be your downfall not the world
And what he does, isn't very nice.
As much as I love The Batman (2022), I really wish there was a scene like this between Batman and Alfred.
Same
This Batman saying "I'm not in danger. I am the danger."
Origins has the best Alfred and Bruce stuff
Almost looks like what could happen in the Robert Pattinson Batman movie.
Need a scene like this between Battison and Andy’s Alfred in The Batman
This aged well
This aged well
If I can’t change things here, if I can’t have an effect, I don’t care what happens to me
You're not my father alfred
Wellll....kind of. It was more cringy in The Batman, but it was something like this.
The growl in "But it will be theirs!" was awesome
What I actually love about this scene is that both are right, and both are wrong in their own ways. Bruce ISN’T a hardened vigilante, right now he’s in the early years of his career and is getting too big for his britches. He IS the reason why a lot of criminals are becoming too scared to do anything, he’s is vengeance, he is the one who will punish those who hurt the innocent.
But ultimately, he IS way over his head. He almost DIES that night from being poisoned cause he thought he was so much better than anything the assassins could be. And of course, Bane figures out who he is, and almost destroys the one thing he has left. Alfred.
This game is so underrated. Having Bruce be right and wrong, allowing him to fail and learn from it, adds so much to this take on him.
Arkham Origins is so underrated
What i loved so much about this is Alfred questioning who Bruce thinks he is. To which, in complete Batman fashion, Bruce has unwavering belief in his own cause and what he is doing. That mixed with his portrayal of anger just establishes this character and his conviction in such a powerful way that avoids exposition
Batman brings fear to the lowlifes and petty criminals, but brings entertainment to the psychopaths and monsters.
i wouldnt even be mad if they put this dialogue in a live action batman movie because this was excellent writing.
Best father figure he’s had
Not going to lie, when this cutscene happened it brought a tear to my eye. Batmans conviction, Alfred's concern. "When the mugger or the thief stops to think twice. That is fear...because I am the reason the criminals breathe easier when the sun rises." Powerful.
Amazing dialogue/cutscene👏💖
When Batman became THE BATMAN in the Arkham Series
"Master Bruce, stop! Master Bruce! BRUCE!"
the only time alfred doesn't call him "Master Bruce" in the entire series
@@Gold_BrickYTHe called him Bruce when Batman entered Blackgate after Alfred checks in on him.
@@Samuel152 oh yeah I forgot about that
Its amazing how Alfred actually stood up to Batman.
The dialogue at the end honestly made the scene even better
This is the Batman version of I am the one who knocks
"I'm the danger Alfred i am the one who knocks!"
I wish the other Arkham games were like this they’re good in there own way but this shows Batman’s anger towards the criminals he fights in the other games Batman is a lot more calm balanced, it’s not a bad thing it’s interesting. this Batman wants to make up for the lose of his parents to show them the fear he felt to show them he’s angry for losing the people that gave him a life the batman in his later years learns there’s more then making the criminals fear him but it’s also giving the ppl like Bruce that feel like there world has crashed down but is given hope
Walter Wayne
This is one Great scene fs Alfred worrying over Bruce because he doesn’t want him to die he’s the only person he has left and he made a promise to his parents he can’t lose Bruce you tell he loves Bruce by just the pain in his voice as tries to stop him
Batman basically said, "I AM the danger." 😂
Can’t believe this is the same man voicing Sonic the Hedgehog since 2010. The difference in voices he does for both characters is insane
Batman literally saying, "I am not in danger, Alfred. I AM THE DANGER."
If any non-comic book fan wants the best modern take on the on who Batman REALLY is outside of BTAS, all one has to do is play this cut scene.
0:33 this reminds me of the opening monologue of the batman 2022 😍
Well this game came out 9 years prior
I love that they gave Alfred fucked up, yellow teeth. Since, you know, 🇬🇧
Live action, animation, video games, whatever genre or medium this is an all timer Batman Speech!!
I love that he drops the brooding voice in this scene.
People can say whatever they want about this game but this is an example of good writing Batman and Alfred’s relationship isn’t really good it’s only after Bane nearly kills Alfred that Batman and Alfred’s relationship gets more closer
Yo we i come across u alot
I cant unhear Sonic and Toadsworth having a argument
I’ve never let anyone tell me that this game was bad and I never will, this game understood Batman’s early career like nothing else other than maybe year 1 and Robert Pattinson
This is Batman’s I am the one who knocks moment
I accidentally skipped this scene thanks for uploading it
I’m not in danger
I’m the danger
You know what? Roger Craig Smith is definitely the best replacement for Conroy.
Absolutely love this cutscene
Its cool that both bruce and alfred are corretc in some points
This scene alone made realize we can have an excellent batman game without Rocksteady or Kevin Conroy (Rip the GOAT). Great writing and excellent performance by Roger Craig Smith. It's a shame Warner dropped the ball with Gotham Knights
There’s something powerful about Alfred just calling Bruce by just his first name instead of master Bruce
I wish they tweaked background noise, coz this was such amazing moment💯
Searched for coldest line in arkham origins and i found this
alfred is like a father to him
Batman: I am the danger!
Arkham series was so ahead of its time its just sad to see it was the peak of AAA video games
I think its funny how there's a really serious cutscene and then it just cuts to the same cinematic that plays like 5 other times in the main story
Kevin Conroy will always be the true Batman voice (RIP Kevin Conroy.) But Roger Craig Smith did such a good job with a younger Batman!
Well, he aint wrong.
Always listen to Alfred
One of the hardest scenes in the game🔥🔥🔥
Should have a side by side of this and I am the danger. This is so badass this is Batman’s version of I am not in danger Alfred I AM the danger.
When people ask me who my favorite DC character is my answer is : "Alfred Pennyworth.. just a butler"
This is why I love Origins way better than Knight!!!
They really did a disservice to Kevin Conroy by giving him such wooden lines.
I think knight and origins are pretty matched in terms of quality.
I always loved Arkham Origins’s Batman, he was much less mentally grounded and more ruthless, fierce and brutal
This game deserves more attention, love and likes. I know rocksteady didn’t make Arkham Origins, however it deserves a remake?
Hmm this moment feels familiar 🤔
i mustve accidentally pressed skip cuz i dont rmb this part
Roger Craig Smith is the goat! My favorite voice actor along with Steve Blum!
I am the one who knocks
Arkham Origins underrated fr
Lmfao bro got cooked by alfred
I AM NOT IN OVER MY HEAD 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥💯
Bruce has got Alfred whipped asf. HE should have been the one apologizing, begging for forgiveness from the man who raised him. Instead Alfred said sorry for being concerned.
What's the difference between Batman and Superman in your point of view?
Suicide Squad did Bruce dirty.
God i love Arkham origins
rocksteady was dumb to kill this goat character.
Bruce can’t take a break and spend Christmas with his butler
What part was this ?
Origins
@@Villanova44 ur slow
@@Mystify0324 I'ma touch you
This is basically the part after Joker gets sent to Blackgate, and you play as him while he is talking to Harleen Quinzel (before she became Harley Quinn). Batman went to the batcave to get the glue gun before heading to Bane's hideout (he put the tracker on him as he was escaping from the hotel roof)
2024 anyone? 😊
Didn't play the game but Bruce is tweaking on this one
was this at the end of the game?
No this is early in the game
Let’s say midway
Chris redfield
Damn, idg the hate. This game was well written.

Roger Craig Smith gave a better performance in this one game than Conroy did in all 3 of his. Sorry not sorry.
naaaa
Oof. I love his performance but I'm gonna have to disagree on that one champ.
Kevin Conroy is a good old wiser Batman and Roger Craig Smith is a good young angrier Batman
That's a bold statement and that's all I'll say
@@mrwhatshisname2526 yea this guy must of been high. I'd say Kevin is a great old Batman, Roger Craig Smith is a good young Batman
I ain't gonna lie but I don't think Roger Craig Smith is a good Batman voice, especially for this scene, it felt like something was lacking in how he was delivering the lines.
Well that’s you. I think his voice is fantastic for Batman
