Batman doesn't kill. He just brutally beats bad guys so they cant walk, talk, or go piss correctly.
He beats till they are about to die then leaves. And then they die because, well THEY DIDN'T SURVIVED. HE DIDN'T KILL THEM, THEY JUST DIDN'T SURVIVED
Or leaves them to their own fate
It did sound like he killed him because clearly batman isn’t in the mindset of not killing people in this movie if he’s doing that normally he would just knock them out but the brutality of that scene shows us something happens to Bruce in the movies like someone died very close to him but thats just an idea
He brutally beats the shit out of them till they wish they were dead.
He just make their head into a pulp, if he in a rage mode.

I'd have thought the same as you (and WB did for years) but The Joker proved an audience can deal with it. The befuddled attitude of the Mom is a minority one, I think. More people now are adjusted to rolling with alternate franchise character takes. There's an underlying assumption now with certain characters that you don't have to reexplain them from scratch each time, and can just put out your interpretation. Actually, even before The Joker, this got proven by Spider-man, with how Into The Spiderverse had huge success even though it was out so near an MCU Spidey film.
Joker box office says otherwise. The character will draw casuals in no matter what version.

That’s a really good point about the “clean” fighting shot. Very raw. Not all those crazy angles and closeups to try making a scene more than it really is. Simple, unpretentious, but oh so raw.

photographs of himself, that this movie is actually Batman Year 2 and
that Bruce Wayne hadn't worked out and ninja trained seriously until
AFTER he received too many punches/knocks while he's dispensing
'vengeance' to thugs/criminal scumbags, then he started training
seriously. IS this actual comic book canon? Doesn't matter.......... I

The Long Halloween, is what this movie is going around a bit. The suit itself, batmobile, and the batman motorcycle is from pieces of many Batman comics that helped them come up with a suit that fits a 2 year Batman.
This is only 25% of the completed film too.. I can only imagine what the rest of the final result is going to be.
I’m LOVING this! The noir vibe, the slowburn style... Rob Pattinson might easily shoot to the top as my favorite Batman next to Keaton, with the quiet rage that’s about to boil over. It’s crazy how many times I’ve watched this trailer in 2 hours!
Robert proved me wrong that he cannot be Batman. He also has the potential to be the best Batman ever, surpassing Christopher and Ben.
They say this is a teaser trailer yet it feels like the actual trailer like 'The Batman Trailer #1" instead of just a teaser. Just wonder if this teaser was so good, what will the actual trailer look like? Lol.

No the person he thought was Penguin was a mob boss named carmine falcone. The penguin in this movie wasnt shown in the trailer, he is played by Colin Farell. But I see why you got the two confused, the actor playing Carmine looks like he could play Cobblepot oo

Chad no I’m quite sure that’s Colin Ferrel in a very good makeup. He’s not even recognizable. It’s definitely him. Also that is the Penguin in the beginning with the duck tape. There was one guy that was the mob boss but the other heavy set guys was Colin Ferrel as Penguin.

@@AAM29290 They were never doing it but they have used it as a basis to the story, it's an original story that takes elements from multiple Batman stories
In previous movies of Batman, he always says "I'm Batman" when asked who or what he is. But here he says "I'm Vengeance", which is actual the true character of the Batman.
I mean, Batman actually always goes for "Justice, not vengeance." since anti-heroes like the Michael Keaton Batman would work with the "I'm Vengeance!" line. "I am The Night." (which was the original line Michael Keaton was supposed to say but went with "I'm Batman" for the final take) is a nice in-between.

@Anonymous In the Snydercut, he only runs like that during time-travel, and he runs normally in other scenes. I have seen a few leaked scenes in vimeo, and I can confirm it.
I think that the reason for his weird running is that when he moves through the speedforce, it's like he's swimming through a fluid, so he's running and swimming at the same time.

I don't know, but for me this is the only Batman that made us say "wow" seeing the suit. This is so dark. The Batman we weren't expecting. I loved it. Robert really nailed it.

As an aspiring actor, and comicbook artist and nerd, I've been waiting for people like you guys to be on youtube. A family consisting of mainly actors who are also nerds in Pop Culture love it.
I've got a feeling they're releasing this to see the reception, to get the green light to make this an R rated film or not. And so far the reception seems to be crazily good.

I’m in love with this small detail about the trailer too. Paul Dani will be amazing in it and Colin Farrell is completely unrecognizable as The Penguin in this trailer. I have a great feeling about this film.

I'm calling it, this will be the best batman movie of all times, after the Dark Knight, maybe stading shoulder to shoulder with it.
Side note, although the main body of the suit looked to be black, I think it might actually be a very dark grey, adding a bit of a comic flare to the suit.

Yes, that actually was Penguin (Oswald Cobblepot) played by Collin Farrell. He's also the guy saying "Woah, this guy's crazy!" while driving away in the car (being chased by Batman in the Batmobile).

No, MOM, it’s incredible and incredible. Trailers aren’t supposed to tell you much, and certainly not give anything away. You seem to be used to trailers giving you the whole story. This gave the atmosphere and introduced a few characters. That’s all a sophisticated viewer needs.

According to everything I've heard about this film: It's year two of Batman. The story is loosely based on The Long Halloween graphic novel which features several villains from his rogue's gallery. It may take place in the early '90's hence the Nirvana soundtrack playing throughout the teaser, if so, The Batman may be connected to Todd Philips Joker.
It takes place in present day. Look at the car that crashes through the funeral.

from the rhyming puzzles to the green envelope, it's clear the Riddler will be the main villain. However, since Reeves has mentioned multiple times he's drawn inspiration from Hush and the Long Halloween, many other villains will cameo in the movie. TuneSquad caught the Penguin, Catwoman is obviously there, and I also hope that those goons are a seed for a future portrayal of the Joker in this franchise. It may have only been a teaser but it showed us so much more than we ever hoped. Super hyped for this movie!
After watching trailer 2 and 3 this movie looks more fucking amazing and I am so hyped up for it

Guys the villain of the movie is The Riddler, The penguin is also in the movie but I don’t believe he was in this trailer. Collin Farrel is penguin and there was a guy who looked like he had prosthetics but I’m not sure it was him. Catwoman obviously is in it as well. Great review. That beatdown scene was the one for me that was awesome.

This Batman movie trailer reminds me of the comics Batman: FIrst Year. Even Matt Reeves said in a interview said he was into those type of batman comics. I cannot wait for this film to drop. Also, the villains, I'm pretty sure Penguin, Riddler, and Hush are gonna be in the film. :)
