Norm Macdonald was one of the greatest comedic minds. He made out he'd only read four books in his life but in reality he was incredibly well-read, and the cleverest and funniest guy in the room.
I remember super Dave's reaction when he said, do you think a gold chain is a good retirement present for a really good slave? Not racist, slaves come in all colours.
Big shout for reminding people about Nazar Mohamed. His bravery was truly astonishing. Anyone who doesn't know the story of his death, Google it. What a man. I promise you won't regret looking this up , except for wishing you were as brave as this man. RIP.
Fair points extremely well articulated. First time I've seen you Leo and I've now subscribed. Andrew Lawrence is my favourite comedian and his posts here on RUclips are just brilliant, if anyone reading this hasn't seen him, take a look. I was devastated when he was cancelled as I had tickets for his Manchester gig.
Janey Godley deserves everything she gets, especially after cheering JK Rowlings "cancelling". Along with cheering on men being abusive to women with opinions.
Yes it's hard to have any sympathy for Godley or Rufus Hound. If you won't defend the right of free speech don't be surprised if supporters of it won't come to your defence when you find yourself attacked by the left.
If the pandemic hadnt come about and Sturgeon needed her ego massaged at the daily briefings the majority of Scotland would never have heard of her. The first one was at least a bit funny, but everything after that was boring.
You forgot to say 'with pro-Irish, Roman Catholic, woke-when-it-suits-them-racist-when-it-doesn't' SNP on the other side and not forgetting Scotland's old overlords, namely the Labour Party constantly jumping from one side to the other'. Otherwise as spot on as something with a spot on.
Well said sir. I suspect Chic Murray would be cancelled today by 'offending' someone who objected to his classic ' woman with the large nose' monologue
You can still see Jim Davidson in concert, admittedly at small venues that dont sell out. He is still telling the same jokes as he was in the 70s and 80s. Same audience I think.
Chubby Brown is a dinosaur, a hangover from the 70's for people who want to live 50 years in the past. Andrew Lawrence was good when he was on the BBC but now seems to have dropped the ball and regressed to Sixth Form satire level.
@@utv5490 you're entitled to your opinion and so is everyone else can't understand this desire to stop other people doing things or watching stuff you don't agree with. The problem is more with the venues and organisations who bow down. If they stood up then those who inflict their rubbish would likely run out of steam But , that they bow down , gives them the momentum to keep going. I'm sure - until a law comes in saying they can't - there will always be clubs who will have anyone that sells tickets. These clubs will be the winners. The clubs that bow and cancel will lose paying customers/reputation and those who stand firm will gain.
I agree with Leo. Comedians should not be cancelled. Do I think Janey Godley is absolute shite? Yes. Do I have to watch her pandering to the SSNP and the Yestapo? No. It’s like anything else. You can just not watch or follow them.

Shame on these cultural commissars. Hateful, and mindless, lacking in basic intelligence. They must be fought. Go after them and take them down. Good rant, fair and precise. I Support Janey Godley. She is a brilliant artist.
The words 'racist' and 'white supremacy' for example have been expanded to such a degree that anybody can be caught in the net. This is what advocates of such encroaching draconian ideas such as 'hatespeech' need to understand. These ideas are designed to control them as much as everybody else. The interpretations are expanded until they say a word out of turn and then the boot stamps down on them too.
Offence is taken at everything and anything these days. If only some folks could be as concerned about their own conduct, character and opinions, as they seem to be about everyone else's?Just a thought.
Fortunately I think we're just starting to see the turn of the worm, with people refusing to let the wokesters have the last word. Shouting them down as they storm out of the gig must be music to a comedians ears. We all know that they go there TO BE offended, not to have fun. They just wait until their particular trigger is pulled. As you rightly say, if something is genuinely too far, the audience will indeed let the comedian know. I've seen it myself at a gig a couple of years ago where the laughter clearly stopped and the comedian, to his credit, got it!
