      ⁠@@BlakchipskylarkHe was good enough to start every game his rookie year which is saying a lot. If you could critique anything he was a bit underpowered so he’s put on about 15 lbs of muscle in the off season so he should only get better.

    I live in Fargo and can tell you that Cody is one of the nicest and most real people you will ever meet. There's just something about big 'ol corn fed kids from small towns.

    I grew up in a small N.D. town. We played nine man and suited up 13 guys for the final game of my senior year. You played every snap. Great fun. By season's end you were in such great shape it was unbelievable. Nice video, gotta pull for a man like this.

    Love seeing Cody get recognition, the handful of times I was able to talk to him showed me how cool of a person he is! I went to NDSU the same time he did, though it was only for my senior year.

    I played 9 man football in a rural ND town in the 90's. We all played multiple positions. I was a RB, LB and kick returner lol

      did the same in the 80's for nine man, D-end OT then gunner on punts also kick offs too. Only weighed 165lbs, now I should drop 100lbs and still outweigh my high school days lol

      we have 6 man lol. in junior high (middle school) ur required to play sports because classes average about 10 kids.

    That story is why I love sports. Names such as John Riggins, Walt Garrison, Steve Tasker, Mark Simeneau, all played at small high schools. Some were more highly recruited, but Garrison wasn’t recruited and a friend of a friend got him a try at Oklahoma State. Played 9 years in the NFL winning a Super Bowl. There’s something about those farm/ ranch kids!

    Sounds like the next Klinesaucer. Grew up in Alex, so I was a class higher but it’s great to see local corn fed farmers like that beating the odds and giving hope to the rest of us in this area.

    Ok, just started watching. He's not from Breckenridge MN alright. They have the regional maternity hospital. He's a North Dakota farm boy born in a MN hospital a stones throw across the river. The river is the state's border.

    Breckenridge is big compared to a town of 200. We had 9 man as well but we had to pool 2 schools together to even make 9 man.

    I’m familiar with 6-man and 8-man, which I played, but I’ve never heard of 9-man. I’m surprised it exists because it’s almost 11 man. It’s only played in Dakotas and Minn and just eliminates the tackles. Played on full size filed instead of 80 yard filed like 6 and 8 man

    Flip side: If you can play, coaches will find you. NDSU is a FCS powerhouse. You can improve this video by focusing on how Cody moved from walk-on status onto receiving a scholarship.

    I hope that guys like this get all the success the world has to offer, if more people like this win good hearts and humility get to the top they can move mountains and help others in ways that selfish prime time players can’t, they can also change the culture of the game and get kids moving in the right direction, looking up to positive role models and mimicking them instead of showing poor sportsmanship, no class, selfish play, worried about how they look, in grateful that I was raised to not look up to those kind of players, Barry Sanders over Deion Sanders

And you only made my point by saying that because singular is Yankee, as in Aaron judge is a Yankee, and plural is Yankee's, as in the Yankee's won the world series. We don't say Aaron Judge is a Yankees, nor the Yankee won the world series

    I have seen more than my fair share of kids in high school where I'm puzzled how they have no offers. My senior year of high school we made it to the state semi-finals. But what stuck with me was the 5'10 running back we played in week 3 who EMBARRASED our defense for nearly 200 yards. I kept tabs on him all season. He never got an offer. And I'm like. If you did that against kids with D1 offers. How do you not get one of your own?

    Look into Justin Britt kid was from Lebanon mo biggest town for about an hour either way with 15k people and made the nfl and played for about a decade

      Hey dude, it’s not the University of North Dakota State….get it right. It’s North Dakota State University. The other FCS program in North Dakota is the University of North Dakota. Do your research.

    we had willy lanier skinny guy from maggie walker in richmond d2 morgan state took a chance on him slowly got bigger better hours of flim study late round chiefs early on a serious neck injury almost ended his career changed his technique to huggy bear anchored chiefs at mlb for years pro bowl i believe he said morgan was the only school to offer him maybe norfolk state also d2 also

    Kinda curious what his actual recruitment was like. Don't slow roll it: NDSU is the Alabama of the D1 FCS. It's a great football school. Curious if he didn't get offers from bottom end D1 FBS schools.

    In this part of the video when you have a player who weighs over 300 lbs that's like a wild train,and that train is going to run you over.So you best get out of the way.But I have never heard of NORTH DAKOTA winning so many games,as this is news to me and that's why I enjoy watching UTUBE because it gives me a lot of different information that I never knew about different subjects as my father once told me that KNOWLEDGE IS POWERFUL IF USED CAREFULLY, so true, word's of WISDOM, coming from the CHINESE PEOPLE

    In this video how do you figure that a kid from a small town with those stats can get into the NFL what 6 feet 5 inches, 220 lbs what team wouldn't want a player like that I would if I was the coach. But me being a CHEF I look for desire to learn from a professional as I did going into the CULINARY FIELD and I knew it would be a long trip to see the light at the end of the tunnel was a great trip for me. As I watched TOM BRADY rise to the occasion and took 2 teams to the SUPER BOWL was even greater,but we will never see it again but NEVER SAY NEVER,as they say

    Lots of times the great high school jocks fail at the next level. They matured early and reached their full potential ahead of their peers. SOme hade the gifts but don't put in the work.

      I agree. Some of the best athletes I played with in high school didn't live up to the hype. Same with kids that were sleepers in high school but did great things in college. All you can do is try and get better every day! Thanks for commenting

    I do not like how the NFL makes these guys so heavy. It is just begging for health issues in the future. So many NFL guys have played 10 years or less and have health issues because of the weight they were carrying. Anything for the money.

      Well a lot of these guys lose a lot weight when they retire. I have seen some lineman drop 80-100 lbs. If you can do that at age 30-35 with 10-20 million in the bank. I think almost anybody would take that.

      the guy is already good. It is extremely unusual for an offensive lineman to start 17 games as a rookie and he did it on a playoff team. This year so far he has been better according to his coaches.

    50 pounds in one year through nutrition and weight training of mostly muscle...don't forget the steroids. Those help a lot.
