    For those that don't know, Kirsten Lepore's husband Daniel Kwan (and his co-director Daniel Scheinert) won several Oscars last Sunday for Everything Everywhere All At Once including best director and best picture. I can definitely see where the inspiration for the stop motion rock scene came from. Congrats Kirsten and Daniel!

    • @imoutocompalex
      @imoutocompalex Год назад +7

      @@ExtremeSquared Yeah she did some of the visual effects like Michelle Yeoh in Anime style or the Greek statue effects. There's no confirmation on who animated the rock scene but regardless of whether it was her or another animator, the style is clearly inspired by the style used for this film.

    While there are many different potential interpretations, I think this is ultimately about how basic differences about where you came from, such as environment/emotional support as a child/socioeconomic factors, etc., can sometimes disintegrate a relationship, despite a powerful love of the other person and interest in their world. Sometimes, you're just too different, even if your souls align in most other ways.
    I wish I could say I'd never experienced this. But I love that this beautiful artistry exists and is deep yet ambiguous enough to allow for interpretation through the lens of our experience. Hugs to all.

    • @Sam-qc6sz
      @Sam-qc6sz 6 лет назад +8

      deprofundis Hi
      Wanted to say that this is actually a nice interpretation, and interesting
      It's surely a message that you don't see around nowadays
      Also, I think this matches a recent matter that happened in my life, so thank you for sharing the thought
      I never considered that this could be an actual reason, I never thought of it
      Maybe the fact that it's basically impossible for the snow person to reach the sand person is why they are of these elements, their only connection being the Sea, which could represent their impossible desire
      Such a thought provoking story, even though it lasts five minutes, is art, and so clearly had a mind at work behind it

    As someone in my thirties, this is triggering me some memories of an animation I once watched a long-long time a go but forgotten about until today. I only vaguely remember it though.
    I recall a man made out of moist sand. He lived in a desert and that he needed to drink water from a bottle to stay hydrated and alive... Then he ran out of water and began to panic and I can't remember what he did but found a large body of water that dissolved him and the ending is him being reformed at the bottom of the body of water.
    I completely forgotten about that old animation (and barely remmber half of it let alone date, title or who made it) but watching this video made me vaguely recall such an animation.

    It's so cool how he did stop motion waves how dose she do it?

    • @ZirJohn
      @ZirJohn 3 года назад

      She recorded the waves and edited them in with skipped frames, thats why most of the scenes dont have the sand guy overlapping with the waves because then she just has the top half as the waves video and the bottom half as the sand guy portion. At least thats how i would do it.
