So basically IndyCar wouldn't allow the current car to be put into the this game. But the speedway itself allowed IndyCar to be featured, but as a hybrid-esq "IndyCar" featuring different eras. Interesting.
I think it's due to the deal they have with Motorsport Games. It's an exclusive license. Problem is Motorsport Games can't find their own behind with both hands and a map.
@@ceeinfiniti1389 The worst part........MSG is bleeding money as a company which they hold the IPs to Indy and NASCAR. Exclusivities are terrible business but at same time it is a structure of contractual business practice for better or worse.
That's what happens when simracing goes big. My silent wish is that exclusive property rights had some kind of expiration date, so that classic content could be with all the historic grids reflecting the time, nomatter sim release.
It's an absolute tragedy that big racing series just watch the sim racing world get incinerated by a shady shovelware producer with links to organised crime in Russia
@@wendigockel If you follow that logic you shouldn't be simracing at all. All car manufacturers - especialy the ones under the VW umbrella - are part of a group that is notoriously breaking laws and commiting to organized crime. For those who want the full Indycar experience, AMS2 has Long Beach, IMS (Road and Oval), Road America, Laguna Seca and WWTR (Road and Oval) in the game, as well as Montreal, Watkins Glen, VIR, Fontana (Road and Oval), Daytona (Road and Oval). You can quite nicely make a custom Indycar championship, and since this video was made, someone over at Race Department has made a 2023 Skin Pack
We know this isn’t the “new” IndyCar game because Motorsport Games would never really make it. Even if they did, they’ll pull the bs “it’s delayed till next year” even when we’re in 2024. Automobilista 2, you drop this👑
I always wanted to know how the strong Brazilian tradition in American open wheel started? Who was the first guy that started the trend? Brazil has had great Indy drivers since before I was born, so I've been curious about it for a while.
Have you tried the 2023 mod yet? Everyone ignored the 'not indycar' from reiza because the mod quality is top notch, the modders went above all developers that did modern indycars for last 10 years, all teams and drivers, all aerokits, both red and green tires as options and they even modeled different steering wheels for each team. ( Reiza confirmed that there's a 'Racin' USA Bonus Pack' coming later this year, here's hoping they include some generic Dallara IR-05 to make the game the definitive indycar experience. )
if they include the ir-05, i am getting ams2 and getting my hands on that car, however it's made available, asap. that car was gorgeous and deserved more love then it got.
Instead of voiding the contract with Motorsport Games and supporting Reiza to build a standalone IndyCar game, they prefer to keep this awful situation
If you don’t mind doing a little bit hackery, there is a spectacular 2023 indycar/IR-18 mod available on race department right now. It has all the driver names, all the kits (super speedway, road circuit, short oval, etc) and the additional Indy 500 entries. GP laps has a series of great videos on it, and I’ve been playing it non-stop over the last few days
This made me smile big! Born and raised in C-town and this race way back in the day made me the Indy car fan I am today. Such a great track and that turn one was always heart stopping. Great to watch and hopefully one day try (Mac guy here), but appreciate you Dave and all you do to promote and build the best racing series around the globe.
At 68 seeing this car without the stupid looking windscreen brought back the feeling CART had back in the day. It brought back the feeling before Tony started the Indy bush league. Have never nearly fully regained it even to this day. And the right hand shifting and at BLA what a job these guys did !! The body looks awesome !! Thnx Dave !!
1993 CART would be my preferred year because they still had a manual gearbox and you've got an awesome lineup of legendary drivers with the addition of F1 champ Nigel Mansell. Was very young at the time but still remember attending the Long Beach GP that year.
I was at Cleveland in...I don't know what year. I was listening to control on the headphones. When they all came together at the first turn I heard: "well...that didn't work!" LOL
Cool video. Speaking of tracks that are currently no longer on the schedule, will we get a Milwaukee Mile video soon? Even if we had to replace a Iowa race to bring Milwaukee back, I'd be all for it.
Assetto Corsa doesnt have the license for Indycar or F1 stuff yet developers like RaceSimStudio and VRC have made these specific cars but named them differently to avoid Copyright regarding brand names
if I've learned anything from being an NR2003 modder, it's that this car is screaming for an IndyCar all star carset, putting Foyt, Andretti, and Unser up against Dixon, Franchitti, and Power. Pick the 33 best drivers from CART/IndyCar/USAC history and go for it! If any AMS2 painters read this, you're welcome for the free idea :P
I honestly bought this game just for the indycar content. Sometimes ill mess with the Brazilian stock cars or pickups every now and then but this game simulates indycar so good. I just wish the oval AI put up more of a fight
I definitely miss Cleveland, and wish they'd bring it back. (I don't know how practical it is, but still.) If not that, the basic concept of a race entirely on an airport is one to revisit (beyond St. Pete).
Yes Ams2 simulates dirty air, flat spots if you look at your tire wear you will notice the impact of tire locking on it and it becomes increasily easier to lock tires. AI and oval racing will deffo be improved in the near future.
I’d love to see the dallara ir 05 years…those years had some great teams, races and championships to reenact. Somewhere in the midd years like Indycar 2009?
Nice display! However myself racing helmet cam using max blur and max camera shake. Delivers fantastic immersion. Especially in marathon endurance runs when your body becames ahady and deliriumate after a couple of hours non-stop. Btw: how do I add blur in VR with my Quest 2. Even cam ahake seems vague. I know most VR racers don't like this and get sick after minutes, but I want max immersion here at all costs!
Looks good and is one of the better options since Forza Motorsport 7(I use this example cause it’s more accessible than AMS2 and other sim games) is off the market tho it did have a few indycar vehicles
Hey David do you have Any setup tips for the CART cars on the Ovals if so a video with some tips and Tricks both for driving the ovals and setup would be awesome either way love the content keep up the good work!!!
Not sure AM2 could lay claim to putting out the most amount of indycar content. Assetto Corsa has way more indycars going back to the 60's with skinpacks for various seasons. And over 80 indy tracks, including 48 ovals.
Bought this game a few weeks ago after watching a video talking about the IndyCar mod. A sim like this needs pedals and a wheel huh? I can't get through 2 turns on a road course on my controller....
quite honestly? i'm giving it a lot of thought, and i think that ams2, if and almost certainly when they release a dallara ir-05 alike, might just be worth my time and money.
yeah man you’re absolutely right, those were best days of indy, cannot believe burke lakefront is in a videogame! ( i used to live 20 mins from there on the near west side) I will need to buy this game now... great video
The question is why do IndyCar mess about waiting years for motorsport games to pull their finger out of there arse when Reiza could have a functioning game in days?
I dont understand some racing and sports leagues. This would bring in so many new eyes to your sport. You could say we will give you the licence for 3 years and then we will look at the amount of players using this model even advertise it in the actual races but at the end of the 3 years come back together and see if its growing. And if it is you pay a licences fee. For the start we just want to get more eyes on our and your projects. Its sad when old companies cant see what benefits a new set of eyes looking at it could gain them.
Indycar is doing everything wrong in the videogame area. Not only going with Motorsport Games (they can't handle a professional virtual 24Hs Le Mans...) but not being open with different type of games. Not everyone wants to drive their favorite car in a simulator. Some of us want a simcade like pCars2 was or the F1202X saga by Codemasters (sorry, EA) or an arcade version of it. They need to grow in the audience and they keep making this type of mistakes. It's the same stiuation as 100 Days to Indy not streamed outside US in a platform such as Netflix, HBOMax or D+/Star+ (here in LATAM).
As good as this is, I've never had more fun in racing sims than the "not-indycar" in iRacing, it's still the best version, and the great online racing is top notch as a petrolhead. Still very happy AMS2 is doing god's work satisfying our vintage lust, and err, whatever it might turn into in the future
