Yeah, mixed feelings on that one. I've found Retrobit stuff really disappointing quality-wise so far. I have three different controllers from them and none of them work 100% like they're supposed to. I'd give the Big6 a shot if I ever came across it or got a review unit, but I'm definitely not buying it.
@@InglebardGaming It's been platform dependent, but I've had similar experiences with Retro-Bit hardware. Still, I'm in love enough with the idea of a 6-button OG controller to give it a chance. I do quibble with the placement of the Start button though, even if it is "fine" for actual use, I would have preferred it away from the other face buttons towards the center of the controller.
you forgot to mention (or i probably didnt noticed in the vid haha) that the bluetooth version has hall effect sensors, which should theoretically make it more immune to stick drift
the thing I didn't like of the ultimate controllers is the convex buttons and the angle of the controller handles which are too close, they should be a bit more on a open angle so the hands could rest like with the XBOX Series S/X.
Yeah, pretty much all of the Xbox style controllers out there have overly convex buttons. I miss concave buttons, they feel so much better, IMO. I really liked the buttons on the M30, for example. I don't know WHY companies stopped making controllers with them, you'd think one of them out there would make things like that.
I am somewhat of a Controller junkie, so I will check it out for sure, I even got some spare parts from the 8bitdo shop to repair some of my old SN30 Pro controllers.
i had the same sn snes pro controler. bought it new sealed just before we moved switzerland.. forgot about it then when finally 3 years later got round sorting out stuff i brought. went great i can use that. nope was dead.
Yeah, I know I was definitely not alone in having issues with the SN30 Pro. It was so hyped up and in the end I didn't even like it that much (way too cramped and bad analog stick positioning, bad L/R buttons, etc), and that's aside from the technical problems so many of them ended up having.
I don't have an Xbox to test it with, but compatibility should be listed on the product pages for each model on any site that sells them. You can also check a pdf of the manual for the version that you're interested in, it'll go over compatibility and what you have to do to enable various modes.
I will die on that 8bit DOH hill 😂 I've had many 8bitdo controllers over the year and my biggest issue has been the quality of the membranes they use for the d-pad and buttons. Both the N30 and SN30 do not hold up for action games. I did buy the Ultimate to use on the Switch and a couple hundred hours in, I'm pretty satisfied.
How does the gyro perform? I’ve heard shaky things but im so tired of stick drift (my dual sense is finally starting to go) so I need a new controller that has gyro as good or better than PS5
That's something I can't answer, I didn't try it with any games that use gyro controls - even in games where it's an option I tend to turn gyro controls off or avoid them.
Cool review, your majesty. The Retro-Bit BIG6 is the one I'm looking at acquiring.

If your SN30 pros were anything like the one I had, you better stock up on those parts!

Does the wireless one work with xbox?

It doesn’t work with Xbox so you have to use the Xbox version :/

DOH sounds so much better, IMO! But, gotta go with what the company calls itself, I think.
