- First start of my g290rc from DDM. Came with the dom pipe but not sure if ill be running that one for now going to brake it in with the stock pipe. Its got a black magic .850 spindle and ADA racing 3rd bearing support. Prefer this engine over the 320/340s bc they have the potential to rev much higher. I bought the same setup from DDM and my pipe did crack I didn't even return it. I had a welder at work fix it for me. It seemed like the bracket was tilted just a little bit sideways so when you bolt it up tight it puts stress on the pipe. And great explanation on the correct way to break in engine in 💯👍👍
Yeah my dom pipe came the same way i bent the bracket straight and it fit ok but i still dont like how close it comes to everything else including the msd wire it legit touches it. You would have to run the stock spark plug boot. And that pipes wayy to raspy for me. The ADA pipes are have an others perform way better.
IMO the dominator pipe is designed for RC cars hence why its so tight and small..so it can fit inside the 5th scale RCs. I got it for free so i just used it to test and i took it off before it cracked lol...cool looking but not the best design for a goped..

Hellyeah! I like to run a .850 spindle on all mine..the apple core are cool but wear out the tires hella quick, just like the black magic spindle i have on here now
I’m running 23cc motor hitting 34mph not ported no high rev piston none of that straight stock motor with dominator pipe I guess they fixed the issue cause mine running strong with no cracks over a year of running

And interesting what you said about not needing 110 on a stock engine. We always ran 110 on our g230 motors back in the day.

Hahah seriously nothing beats the smell of some good race fuel with a nice and stinky premix lol i remember everyone use to love the castor 926 premix and my favorite was the Klotz stuff
Lol klotz is really good stuff. We all ran the maxima super m. Same thing with the pre mix, the dude at the shop got us all on that. I can say I never had any issues with any motors I had though. Good stuff.

What oil to fuel ratio did you use to break in?
Yamalube oil and 32:1 is what i always run regardless if its brake in or not but i ride them hard always wide open so the extra oil is what i need .. some people run less like 40:1 and 50:1 though it just depends how you have it setup ect
Is 25:1 to much oil? It seems like the spark plug always getting wet and hard to start

I bought the same motor and left it stock do I leave the stock adjustments on the stock carb or do I need to tune it?
How do you like that engine? I’m thinking of swapping my LH on my sport for this one. I know Dave’s motors is doing that deal right now with the dominator pipe as well. I was trying to hit 40 mph. Would that be possible with a 900 spindle?
Yeah i love this engine and i got it going 40 with a .850 try a 850 first 900 is big
