@@Brainlessness Really sucks that many people think this looks better, what's so bad about the comic accurate flat colors? The only problem with this show is that it's 3D cgi

@@rhinuu045 in order for that to work they need to use the Ben Day Dots to give it that comic texture or it just falls flat Black Cel shading for shadows works WAAAAY better on 2D animation if you dont plan on having lighting. You might as well have just did 2D and not gone through the stress of rigging
I’m glad you didn’t claim to “fix” it, while I truly love this rework, I think the studio was aiming for the 1960s Spider-Man aesthetic with their stylistic design which I prefer.
Looking forward to the show honestly. Not completely sold on the movement but I think they went a long way to make it look comic accurate, which I think i prefer over something like What If
honestly his version did fix it though actually. Disney could have made it 2d or like the spider-verse movies for a comic feel and a more 60s aesthetic but they didn't.
@CozyMozy-y8c >like the spider-verse movies. Reminder that the second film ended on a cliffhanger and the third one was supposed to come out in March 2024. We are currently in 2025 because they underestimated how much time the animation would take to be finished.

DUDE !!! This is amazing !!! You are truly underrated. I don't know why but with the exception of "X-Men '97", a lot of Marvel's animated look very bad. I am glad that you don't claim to "fix it" (I hate that term) but you are actually showing us how simple lighting techniques can something look much more professional. Great work !!! I am going to share this. ;')
Lighting and shading does make a huge difference. Besides certain aspects of the trailer I didn’t like I believe you did this a better way than they had presented. Awesome work 😎
I'm not trying to call you out or anything but I would LOVE to see these scenes actually animated by you rather than just still frames, which by the way look incredible! I personally would not care how long the animation would take if it looks this good
One of the biggest problems with the visual aspect of all mcu related projects is the shadowing, good shadowing will cover up imperfect cgi and make the movie look more “real”
i dont hate the trailer or its visuals or what we're getting for your friendly neighborhood spider man as a whole but even I can agree this looks way more better than what the trailer showed us
The correct lighting just makes it all the more better. Especially if Norman Osborn just in a dark room with nothing but the city lights coming in through the window
Yesssss This is infinite times better than the original one. The original looks so bland with no shading and it's just plain colours on a 3d object. But yours is so much better.
Seeing this makes me think that this type of shading should be only for specific scenes to further enhance it. Kind of like in the JoJo's Bizarre adventure anime they use colour palette changes to enhance the emotions of the character. You get what I mean
To be fair, i only composited a handful of shots. It would literally take months to do this for the whole show. I'm really glad you like it though🫡 thank you for the kind words
We still are because he’s not black you do realise they also race swapped Harry too. Black people are also angry and want original representation of characters in film and TV!
I really wish if this series came out you should reanimate it whole series for us 😭 would love to see it ! but dont wanna put this burden on you ! BTW AMAZING WORK !!
Awesome 🌸❤️ I just wish you would make the faces prettier 🥲 Of course, I have no problem with a black Norman Osborn. I swear these modern animation studios are ALLERGIC to LIGHTING and SHADOWS!!!😭 For CHRIST SAKE would they actually put in some EFFORT. But its most likely a lack of budget thing so I can't place all the blame on tjem
I hate when people say this looks better, the original is supposed to be an homage to old comics and Steve Ditko artstyle. His version just looks a generic animated series!

The show seems very mid. And the original animation looks very bland, but Id actually be excited for this show if the animation looked like this, great work! 🔥🔥
The fact that just something as simple as a change to the lighting makes this show look infinitely better
"Simple" changing the lighting of one frame is easy. But changing it for an entire scene is extremely hard. Especially with moving backround.
@vekktor_ this animation is made in a 3D software, is it not? It's not animated frame by frame lmao
Yeah it does look better with some lighting
@@garfieldgrahamtrue but unlike for the current lighting they would have to bring in a lighting team
@@mayacollins3447 yeah, thats right. I just thought that emphasising on one single frame sounded exaggerated.
Bro just made the whole animation 10x better. They gotta hire for the show or I ain’t watching it
He said this is what is would look like in the COMPOSITE
What animation? These are still shots
There's no animation here.
These are screenshots that're being edited to take away the entire purpose of the shows art style.
honestly i'll watch it just because there is spider-man

Went from normal to cinematic
That thing is not normal, is the uncanny valley. Have you seen how the move?
This guy made a great work.
It looks like X-Men 97 which I’m confused why they didn’t go this route
Because it's meant yo be like an old comic duh
@ It didn’t stick the landing though in my opinion because it doesn’t look good and they could have done it better
Apparently "comic book looking" means, *"no shadows."* This is awesome and I'm sp suprised Marvel purposely didn't put shading. Yikes, I'm worried.😬
that is exactly what that means
That is what that means. Go look at old Ditko stuff, it was very neon.

They should have used the same lighting from the "What If" series it does pop out. Kind like Spider-Man TNAS.

You have done an amazing job of showing just how important shading is and how the quality is of the final product
This actually frustrated me because marvel really missed out. The animation is so flat on their version. Really good job 👏
The power will always be with the fans. These large cooperations can never compare to the passion and creative talent of the fans.
Id love to see a behind the scenes for this its like night and day

I think it'd be a bit much if EVERY scene looked like that so using it sparingly seems like the way to go
You'd think they'd learn their lesson after Wish.
Im actually addicted to watching these videos

Just vibing to this classic masterpiece of Spiderman themes
Samuel Kim truly is amazing for rearranging all of them together
@ I swear
Guys read the description
Now it looks like x-men 97
Cool, you should composite a whole shot instead of just some key frames. It would sell the idea more if people could see your ideas in motion.
I LOVE THIS! this and Invincible have a terrible problem with zero shading making things look flat.
Shading is a little too dark for my taste especially in brighter areas but absolutely perfect in night settings
The thing is,I think its going for more of an old ahh comic look thats why it looks like that (I know it could have been down better still)
"old ahh" is taking me out😂
You're absolutely right
@themutupoguy lmao
You did a fantastic job!
I thought the original was cool and interesting but it defo missed having that cherrybon top which you added!

The artistic choice fits the show, it’s the 3D movement that’s odd af
I feel like marvel studios only cooked with X men 97 when it came to the animation
So basically what if
The show looks really flat and this wasn't even that big a change, just wish disney put in the effort like this guy
The wow factor

It looks good but it walks away from the Old Comic Book style they wanted to use. Those old comics used very few colors.
