    excellent fix! I do hope you can make more bitesized videos of fixing various linux troubleshooting, really saves time jumping through forums and (solved) threads 👍

      I like that idea. I've been pondering on how to vary my content so I'll totally try out shorter vids.

    Congratulations on the content and interesting videotutorials! With which program do you edit video?

      I've been using the free version of DaVinci Resolve for editing. I see on your channel you teach Olive skills. I've been waiting for a stable version of 0.2 to come out to try. Thanks for watching!

    Why are most sources presenting this as a "solution"? This is like "solving" an SSL certificate error by disabling HTTPS. I need that save default option to save the last chosen OS for multi-booting.

      You are right, it doesn't actually solve the BTRFS implementation issue. Rather it eliminates the sparse warning during boot up. I've added a line in the description to say that it may interrupt dual booting. In MX Linux, the save default option can be implemented using the 'MX Boot Options' app. Thanks for your comment!

      @@StaempunkTV I just switched to REFInd or something. It worked out of the box, because I think it saves the setting in the EFI partition, not the `/boot` directory which is on the main BTRFS partition.

      @@StaempunkTV"In MX Linux, the save default option can be implemented using the 'MX Boot Options' app." - Yeah. Same as in Garuda it can be "implemented"* using the 'Garuda Boot Options' app.
      * "implemented" means that you've checked a box in the app, which doesn't solve the problem. Does MX solve it's issues the same as Garuda? By checking the boxes and saying that it's not MX's fault but a BTRFS bug? Or maybe the folks who make those distros have no clue how to make them compatible with BTRFS?

      @@StaempunkTV hello sir, you're most welcome. for me all your tutorial videos quite interesting and very easy to understand. i just found interesting video that freebsd camp said it's complete os while linux was just a kernel and mixed of applications. i'm not really sure how it's works and it would be nice if some like you can put it on laymen terms for it.

    but, what about if we need that option enable?

    • @StaempunkTV
      @StaempunkTV  2 года назад +1

      If that were the case, you'd probably have to revert back to a non-systemd kernel. I only do this as I'm using SystemD due to some of the apps I choose to use requiring it so this "fix" speeds up my bootup. Lately though, I have been using a non-systemD kernel on one of my laptops and the smaller system resource use is awesome.

    hi , but i want to save the default , how to fix that so it can write the select ?

    • @StaempunkTV
      @StaempunkTV  Год назад

      @Zag Zagzag If you open the 'Boot Options' app from MX Tools, you'll be able to select and save your preferred default grub choice (if that was the question you were asking).
