  • 🚨 Did you know your dog's constant itching might be more than just a small irritant? Not all itch is allergy driven, but they are the biggest cause of long term issues and can maka a dog's life miserable! 🐶
1️⃣ First up, we have Flea Allergic Dermatitis (FAD) - not just itches from flea bites, but an actual allergy to flea saliva. Always start with flea elimination!
2️⃣ Food allergies come next, making up about 10% of the allergic reactions in dogs, and playing a role in up to a further 30% of dogs, often due to the animal proteins in their diet.
3️⃣ Lastly, the most common are Environmental Allergies, or atopy, similar to hay fever in humans. These are reactions to dust mites, pollens, and more!
🔍 Identifying these allergy types is key to providing relief for our furry friends and formulating a successful treatment plan for long-term relief.
Proper management can significantly enhance their quality of life, ensuring they're not just surviving, but thriving! You can find out how in The Dog Allergy Summit - ourpetshealth....

What's the solution for environmental allergies? Neither Apoquel nor or cytopoint help. One of my dogs needs constantly cortisone.
