I’ve watched your videos for a couple years now. I finally have the equipment required for a comfortable overnight. My home lake has solid black ice this year, and a handful of walleye. I’m looking to get out for an overnight next week, hoping to catch my first walleye through the ice. I really appreciate your fishing tips, since our ice season is short, and I only get out 10-15 times a year.
Love this guy, I’d kill to fish a day w him. He isn’t arrogant and he knows what he is talking about. Thanks for all the great videos from Massena N,Y and the great St, Lawerence river! Tight lines fellas!
You gotta just LOVE fishing to do all this and put all of em back. I'm a smallie junkie during the non-frozen times and I always release those, but I am not about to deal with all that cold unless I'm getting some prime filets from it. Walleye and perch are darn good eating, I wish there were more opportunities to catch them where I live. I eat the heck out of bluegill and crappie tho. Bluegill from under the ice is some of the best fish ever!
Love your videos, Tom! I really appreciate that you not only show some great fishing action but that you teach us the techniques you use. Do you mind sharing what kind of gear boxes you use on your snowmobile? Keep up the great work!
Just got back from checking the lake for safe ice and 15 huts were already out there…looks like it’s on over here in the FLX region of New York ❤🎉😂 will be shaving some snow cones after work tomorrow and see if we can get um…great video TB
Mitchell- adjust the audio a little man, musics coming in way too loud. Otherwise, excellent content as always boys 👌 stay safe out there and keep rippin em!
Bro like actually no one cares what you think it’s not like this guy makes millions a year he’s a small RUclipsr from Wisconsin he doesn’t care and neither do most people that watch him just shut up
Nice Video Tom, keeping noise to the minimum is key in 10' or less. I have a buddy who can't though, no matter what. People 1/4 mile away pack up. Any suggestions on a comfortable, light weight, human muzzle? I figure Mitchell is trained by now, what was your regimen? Thanks bud.
Tom - Thanks for the inside scoop on the TKI CNC carbon transducer pole! Will they release a 60 inch carbon fiber pole for the open water season? You have all the right connections.
Do you have any tips for seemingly aggressive walleye (rising up almost to under the ice) following the spoon fast but not biting? I quiver the spoon all the way up as well.
Hi Tom, you seem to be able to use your snowmobile with little snow cover. Do you have problems with the sled running hot? Any suggestions or snowmobile setup tips to avoid that?
I fish alone 98% of the time so keeping quite is much easier and i try not to get to close to people when i had a big shack I'd put four holes in there but eventually reduced it to only two i think 4 was to many what do you think?
Do the walleye generally hold shallower in the earlier part of ice fishing season? This is my second season seriously ice fishing and I'm yet to find a walleye 😅
@@youngmoney582 depends on the lake... I'm a firm believer there is a good population of walleyes in less than 10 feet of water everywhere during the ice season
I wonder do you ever try cycle hooks? If so why use treble hooks over circle hooks? Seems like circle hooks would be a good option for tip ups to avoid gut hooking fish
@@TomBoley I tested them side by side for a year. No noticeable difference in hookup ratio, octopus hooks are much easier to unhook and do less damage to the fish. Same thing with bass and pike, just upsize the hook

Hey Tom, have you ever heard of or fished the St. Marys River in Sault Ste. Marie MI? We have a pretty good walleye fisherie.
Was the pack-down B reel, Mitchell's idea? Most packing up footage I've ever seen you film, ha. Great video as always.
Great video, finally getting good ice in upstate Ny,
@@hammondb62 good to hear
We're getting close to fishable ice in St. Louis MO - still no Walleye, though. It's been under 20 degrees most days for almost all week.

Normal is probably more accurate. Haha
Super shallow! Try 2ft of water at nite on lake Poygan. It’s on fire right now!
Tom , I have that same Arch on my Hummingbird live how do I get to a flat bottom Thanks
What is the name of the mount on top of your travel box for your livescope pole. I’m looking for something exactly like that
Hey Tom, noticed the horse shoe effect on the screen. I have the same issue until I get in deeper water. You have any adive on cleaning that up?
