Lol, Escondido cold. I saw a snow flake once. Hit me right in the windshield. It hit 115 at my house there once, thats hot wherever you're from. But its not much hotter than other places in Cali I've lived such as Riverside, IE and even central coast. Overall, its pretty good with the trade off with affordability.
I am 20, born and raised in Escondido. I went through the charter schools, though growing up slightly below middle class. And I can confirm this video is accurate. San Diego county is overall just expensive and I plan to move somewhere cheaper and colder.. lol
There is a train that runs through Escondido. There's also a sprinter that runs from Escondido and all the neighboring cities all the way out to Oceanside. And in Den in Oceanside you can take the coaster all the way up to LA or all the way down to the city of San Diego.
Felicita Park, while within the city limits, is actually a County of San Diego facility. As such, it is the only park in Escondido that one can have a beer or glass of wine.

Talk about the HORRIBLE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM. You have to go to CHARTER SCHOOLS or pay for CATHOLIC SCHOOL... There is NO OTHER OPTION ... TELL THE TRUTH !!!! Yes , there are some good public schools, but in the million dollar home neighborhoods.
Seriously, you’ve never seen the NCTD Bus & Train Transit Center of Escondido? It’s on East Valley Parkway. It has the Coaster, Sprinter, and Breeze. My daughter and her friends used to take the Sprinter up to Oceanside to play at the beach. All I had to do was drop them off here in Escondido, and then they’d call me when they were almost back to go pick them up. My husband used to take the bus to/from work in Miramar.
Yeah, what the heck? Dude, I see homelessness every single day. I witness random people get attack and harassed by tweakers and homeless all the time. My little cousin got hit on the head by a homeless with a brick last week at the Escondido transit center.
The Cons of moving to "Central Escondido" from Fig St to Midway is SO "Ghetto" ! North side El Norte is nice... East Side of San Pasquale/ Ash St.. $$ I am rideshare/delivery driver...so we see it all !!
Before even watching this video, I knew there are no cons worse the crazy, overpriced cost of buying homes in anywhere around San Diego. I mean $1M for a 2 bd, apartment style condo? Crazy. I'll take all the negatives of Escondido vs paying the outrageous prices in other areas.
I guess where the opposite me & my family moved from Winston Salem NC to Escondido California because our daughter is in the Navy & wanted to be close to our grand kids if we would have known how things we're here already we would have never left Winston Salem...
Depending on what side you come in from there are no signs tell you that you are in San Marcos for example on the freeway from when you go from the 15 to the 78 freeway or when you come in from Missio. And it changes to a freeway which goes into San Marcos
I think one of the things about the crime rate, is that there are a couple of specific neighborhoods where all of that crime happens. Like if you go down to Jesmond Dene or over to El Dorado Terrace or where Juniper and Felecita intersect you’re not gonna find a lot of crime. But other parts of the city, aren’t as good. A friend of mine lives on the street that divides the el Diablo gang from the northside gang. She does not love where she lives.
Was looking at homes in Escondido, tge Realtor told me DO NOT !! DO NOT put your children in the Public school system.. He told me about the LOTTERY SYSTEM..... And you are talking about YOU HAVE OPTIONS ?????
I have grown up in Escondido, the school system may not be the same as other cities, but the teachers are amazing & they also very much care about the students.
@@MortgageLizLeFore And in a Prison , the prison guards also care ,,,,,,, because without the (residents )There is NO JOB.. PS: 1.7 TRILLION in RETIREMENT BENEFITS NOT FUNDED in California. That's with a " T " TRILLION !!!!! People become TEACHERS IN CALI ,,,,,, TO GET RICH AND PAID !!!!

City planners here are awful. They continue to flood the city with high density slums. School ratings on certain schools have gone down. Used to have ice skating, now gone. Roller skating, now gone. Bowling alley, nope. Movies, one left which they talked about closing and it's pretty sad inside. Nothing like Skyzone or Dave and Busters, Mini Golf, anything......Restraunt offerings are mediocre. Civic Center does offer some great shows. There's no Costco. If you live in the Southwest section of town there's no Walmart or Lowe's close by. I find myself leaving to other areas and do very little in Escondido. Also, it leans very conservative which is a huge negative in my book. I've been here 14 years now and I would move in a heartbeat if I could. My recommendation would be research the activities you enjoy doing before moving here. I promise you they don't exist in Escondido. And to the City "planners" you are the worst!
I escaped Escondido 4 years ago and have never been happier. You did touch on a few correct subjects but you left out things like there are more homeless people than I've ever seen in my life. drugs are everywhere, carjackings, corrupt police department (and I know personally just how corrupt they are). The ridiculous cost for everything food, rent, gas is positively stupid. I lived near citrus and oak Hill and I can tell you the neighbors (not all of them) but the ones closest to me were complete a-holes, and these clowns had a very serious problem minding their own business. And I believe the state has begun the process of outlawing gas generators, gas weed eaters, gas generators, gas lawn mowers, and wants everybody to use something electric which is positively ridiculous. Pan handlers are everywhere, businesses in Escondido are closing everyday almost because they simply can't stay afloat. I do agree that there are at least five cons to not moving there but I can think of another 45 or 50 but your first five is a good start. Great video, nice job. Oh let's not forget perverted teachers that are constantly trying to have sex with the students. as well as students being kidnapped and killed. Overall, nice video.
Yes we do get rain here but the rain we get in December is common every year just like late March when it starts raining but overall we don’t see a lot of rain there is sporadic times

Is Escondido and San Marcos connected? Meaning you driving down the streets and dont realize you entered a different city.
