I'd be curious what you mean by "support" because if I had the support I needed to keep the channel afloat, instead of hemorrhaging money, I'd still be doing it.

There was another Kodak CD product that came out in the late 90’s that apparently you can still get today if you go to CVS, and that is called “Kodak Picture CD.” It’s more universal than the Photo CD as it stores jpeg images from film instead of the proprietary file format the Photo CD used. Maybe you can do a video about that in the future

Prices quoted in this video did not last. I bought a Kodak CD 270 for $100 in 1992. By that time Kodak must have concluded that the Photo CD was a bad idea.

Can confirm, while working on part three I noted a price drop.

It’s interesting that this featured an early and seemingly rare early usage of the term “digital photography”
I’d like to point out that the term “analog photography” is also almost never heard of until recent history. If we’re being honest, I kindof hate how much it has caught on and become part of the common parlance.

I am curious now to see if I can find an earlier use of the phrase.

I tried Photo CDs a couple of times in the mid-nineties before getting my own film scanner in early 1997. Photo CDs were kind of expensive, but by far the cheapest option to get good (decent) quality scans at the time. Agree that the CD-players were expensive but remember that all electronics were more expensive than now, even without factoring in inflation. Personally, I had no interest in the CD players and used the Photo CDs in a CD-ROM-player in my PC. Worked well enough.
The largest size image on a normal Photo CD is around 6MP from files that are around 5MB in size. That file contains the image in multiple sizes including the largest 6MP one. Of course, if you save the file as 24 bit uncompressed file like BMP or TIF you end up with a 18MP file.
To get higher resolution image you'd have to get a Photo CD Pro. I didn't see anyone offering the Pro-version (it was a real format so somebody probably did), but not sure if the higher res was offered for 35mm scans or for medium format (or both).
Even my first film scanner a Nikon LS-1000 with 2700dpi did a much better job than the scans I got from the Photo CD. Maybe an unfair comparison as I could teak the scans from my own scanner while the Photo CD was a more or less automatic process. The Nikon scanner also had higher resolution and bit depth and allowed scanning directly to uncompressed formats.

"Is it Real or is it PhotoShop?" (In many times, it is Photoshop.)

the cd-i being so expensive makes sense when you think of it as the gameconsole/media device it was trying to be... Of course it wasn't a good game console, but if it never existed we wouldn't have the meme worthy Zelda games from that system
