It has double the hard drive space, and a great graphics card (the blade uses intel graphics), for either the same price or $50 cheaper (there is a sale rn). If you were to buy this, I would buy a 2.5in 1TB hard drive for $50 and put it into the laptop. That way you will have lots of room to store games and other files.

The more expensive one had the IPS panel. You can tell what panel it has on the technical specs on Best Buy's site.
Technology Spotlight Mine is $300 with PC and desk but I still managed to have a nice black desk I rebuilt with RGB lightning... I only need to get a solid GPU.
If the screen is difficult to see at different angles, I believe that would be perfect for uses in public transportation and airplanes. I don't want the person to my sides knowing exactly what I'm doing on my computer and if the screen prevents them from seeing my work or game without having to be really obvious, that may be a bonus.
I would recommend upgrading the display when you order it from their site it makes the viewing angles much better although still not as good as say an Alienware laptop but I think it's worth the extra 50 bucks.
Great GPU and CPU performance per dollar for a laptop in the base and middle model (I'd go for the 1050TI, small cost boost for decent GPU boost). Just a shame about the screen quality, and if you go up to the 4K screen you're in the budget for a higher class gaming laptop anyways.
Agreed for the 4k model I would rather go with the Sager NP8155 with its 1060 and 1080p IPS panel compared to the lousy TN panel thats on the Del 7567. The Dell 7559 has a much better panel than the newer model which just sucks. Was hoping for a 7559 with pascal but NOPE we got this.

Gabriel Ignacio and the iris's run things fine. an example is the 2015 macbook pro running windows. it can run most high profile ganes at mid to low settings and mid tier games at mid to high.
In late 2018 I got one of these with 16GB of dual channel memory, a better display, and upgraded storage for around $500 and another one a bit later on for around $400. Both are still going strong today in late 2020. I did have to replace the fans on one recently, but other than there have been no issues. Oh, and they're both the black variant, which I prefer. That's one of the reasons I bought them. I like the more subtle and clean design of this laptop. It's a nice middle ground of performance and appearance.
You have the IPS screen? I got the TN screen in 2017 and still using it. All though the screen will be replaced soon with a IPS one from AU Optronics. Only downside to the machine is that the battery is swelling and did not only happen to me. Google is full of it. Have a Samsung 970 EVO Plus in it also, only thing that is not changed is the ram. I wanna go to 32GB when i'm able to.
i personally havent used a CD/DVD for my own personal use since like 2014 and that was only because i did not have a USB stick to install windows my current PC has no optical drives i remember back in 2013 when my uncle used to use an external optical drive he got for free as many laptops even back then had no optical drives

I would recommend it to anyone. The display is also not nearly bad as he said it would be. It's fine in my opinion. It is great for older games as well as new ones. It does get the job done considering I have 20 games installed and a couple to name is GTA5, CSGO, GMOD, Rainbow Six, and H1Z1. You don't even notice the screen, it's more of a TV screen rather than a PC but it does get the job done.
i have to say Dell continues to make solid products all the way from consumer to high end gaming and content creators. I have to say going private was the best thing they could of done. There build quality, prices and support have gotten so much better.
Prosper I personally use this for gaming, If you'd like a much sleeker color of it there is an inverted color option, many people think the screen is bad although you don't notice a thing. It's more of a TV screen. The real problem is that if you're going to be gaming then without the charger being plugged in you do lose a couple FPS which is why I game with the charger plugged in. The fans are also pretty loud when it's being overheated although that is what is to be expected when buying dual fans.
i would say for u, do the chrome book + gaming laptop combo. i did it for my chemistry degree, and it was perfect. really the only big programs i used were, end note, chem draw, and auto cad. for those things i use a lenovo gaming laptop at my apartment . then for day to day things i took a $150 chrome book for power point, typing work docs, and web surfing,( also eating off of, while watching netflix on my bed) some people go for something in the middle, but you will be stuck moving a bulky laptop for light things and not having enough power for heavy jobs. chromebook+ gaming laptop is best i think
I have the newer version of this laptop with the same CPU but a nvidia 1060 gpu. I use it for college work as well as gaming and it fits my needs perfectly. The weight/size personally don't bother me at all. I totally understand that portability is big for a lot of people, and this certainly isn't optimal in that aspect, but if you want something that you can use for games as well as take with you to class, this is the ideal laptop in my opinion
I picked this up and loved it ever since, just needed to spend the extra on another HD and doubled the ram and BAM I was in business and still under that 1k price point.
6700hq. Fairly certain it's not a bottleneck. Austin didn't run the entire benchmark, only the first scene (consequently the least intense one), so that fps is expected. I'm getting 70-80fps in the first scene, but in the actual game it can dip to 40s if there's a lot of vegetation around. This inspiron will probably run GTA 5 @30-40 fps on average. He also didn't show the settings. "Ultra" is a stretchy term, many people would consider 2x MSAA and 2x AF to be ultra, while in fact they should set everything to max (i.e. 16x). I'm sure if he did that he's be getting teens xD.

Replace easy to remove screen with a lg or Samsung ips panel and you are golden. Evan didn't go over the best selling point of this laptop, it's massive battery getting 12hours of usage of you are using it like a netbook.

I've seen people say that they bought one of Dell's other models (XPS is what it's called, I think), and they were able to get away with gaming just fine for $600-ish, but you really can't get a decent laptop designed for gaming for much less than $800 from what I've seen.

It does get the job done considering I have 20 games installed and a couple to name is GTA5, CSGO, GMOD, Rainbow Six, and H1Z1. You don't even notice the screen, it's more of a TV screen rather than a PC but it does get the job done.

Prosper I personally use this for gaming, If you'd like a much sleeker color of it there is an inverted color option, many people think the screen is bad although you don't notice a thing. It's more of a TV screen. The real problem is that if you're going to be gaming then without the charger being plugged in you do lose a couple FPS which is why I game with the charger plugged in. The fans are also pretty loud when it's being overheated although that is what is to be expected when buying dual fans.
I think you might want something more portable for college, unless you really need it for gaming or graphics dependent work.
i would say for u, do the chrome book + gaming laptop combo. i did it for my chemistry degree, and it was perfect. really the only big programs i used were, end note, chem draw, and auto cad. for those things i use a lenovo gaming laptop at my apartment . then for day to day things i took a $150 chrome book for power point, typing work docs, and web surfing,( also eating off of, while watching netflix on my bed)
some people go for something in the middle, but you will be stuck moving a bulky laptop for light things and not having enough power for heavy jobs. chromebook+ gaming laptop is best i think

I have the newer version of this laptop with the same CPU but a nvidia 1060 gpu. I use it for college work as well as gaming and it fits my needs perfectly. The weight/size personally don't bother me at all. I totally understand that portability is big for a lot of people, and this certainly isn't optimal in that aspect, but if you want something that you can use for games as well as take with you to class, this is the ideal laptop in my opinion

6700hq. Fairly certain it's not a bottleneck. Austin didn't run the entire benchmark, only the first scene (consequently the least intense one), so that fps is expected. I'm getting 70-80fps in the first scene, but in the actual game it can dip to 40s if there's a lot of vegetation around.
This inspiron will probably run GTA 5 @30-40 fps on average. He also didn't show the settings. "Ultra" is a stretchy term, many people would consider 2x MSAA and 2x AF to be ultra, while in fact they should set everything to max (i.e. 16x). I'm sure if he did that he's be getting teens xD.
IO9802 imo anti aliasing isn't worth it. The game looks great with or without it and it just impacts performance.

I play Minecraft on it and it's very well although if you want to use shaders in *fullscreen* don't bother. Shaders do work in windowed option.

Hantout The fans are a bit loud and when it's not plugged in to the charger you drop a few FPS. People are saying the screen is bad but it really isn't noticeable and is more of a TV screen. Edwin_Mau Rodriguez Velazco I recently did a ton of research on gaming laptops (actually ended up settling on this one), and the cheapest one I found that was an actual gaming laptop was a $750 one by Lenovo. I've seen people say that they bought one of Dell's other models (XPS is what it's called, I think), and they were able to get away with gaming just fine for $600-ish, but you really can't get a decent laptop designed for gaming for much less than $800 from what I've seen.
