Watching this on my FX504
Been using my laptop for about 4 months now. Really good performance, I have the i7, GTX 1050 Ti variant and it can play most of the modern games with a stable framerate.
I totally recommend this laptop but at the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preference.

Speakers on a laptop that is under $1000 won't matter; especially since you can get a better experience through headphones.
The important bits are high quality.
Being able to upgrade RAM to 32 GB, use M.2, and swap to an SSD is nice.

Watching this on a FX504!!! The $950 version I got came with an NVme SSD.
I'd still buy this, I've got a five year old asus ROG G750JW now and this new asus tuf fx504 laptop on this video is a steal, for the price tag.
And the best part is that....there is a better configuration for this.
120hz screen, i7 6c/12t,1050ti gpu.
I'm still using my asus ROG g60jx. I think mine is a bit older.

im using the FX504v (2017) i5 7th , GTX1050 4GB, HD1TB ,. it's pretty good. tho i recommend getting an ssd and extra ram. Windows 10 is a bitch when it comes updates.

I wouldn't like to imagine Austin using a 10-year old laptop (As I did until last year!) I think he'd rather kill himself than using it for more than a week 😂

I bought one of these with the i5 8300h, 16 GB ram, 240 gb ssd, 1 tb hdd and the GTX 1050 ti for 580€. It is 2 months old and used but it looks like new and came with a nice bag. The Performance to price ratio is insane for a notebook with that hardware. I'm also happy with the build quality and the screen for this price point. The only thing that bothers me is the noise this thing makes when it's under full load.

Actually just bought this the other day, surprised me 100%! I have the i5 8300H model and definitely snappy as hell! Screen is beautiful, design in person is actually not THAT appalling, and yes this thing can do it all without breaking a sweat! Happy purchase overall. Only complaint the the (lack of) clickiness on the keyboard.

I bought one too! i upgraded it with a 16gb intel optaine chip and now its faster than ever it boots in approx 16s and overall im super happy and really blown away by the performance for the money
Graphic designer here, bought this and completely solved my purpose (specs wise) as I run after effects almost everyday working on VFX. For that, this is bang for the buck. I play a couple games casually, but this best choice I could get that solved my purpose going up and beyond :)

I'm using this one. Pretty good thermals and performance too! Good value for money. Although the Webcam sucks. And it's a little difficult to upgrade, but it's good. Mine has 16GB RAM, 240GB SSD, and 2TB HDD.

might be worth mentioning that if you choose to add an M.2 ssd into the M.2 slot the laptop will refuse to allow you to use it as a boot drive so you will ultimately have to replace the HDD if you want SSD boot speeds i learned this the hard way. Brilliant laptop though i love it.

I have a 600 dollar gaming laptop called the Acer Nitro 5. I have it in its amd configuration and it is wonderful running games at 60 fps at either medium or high settings. Great laptop.
Don’t buy this, get the Acer nitro 5 with a 1050ti for 700$
+ it has an ssd as well

I hate how so many companies put “thin and light” in their product description, even though they clearly aren’t, just in order to get more hits in the search engine: extremely annoying when Im looking for an ACTUAL thin and light.
Personally, I'd put in $50 more and pick up the entry level Dell G3. Similar specs, but Im expecting a better screen and build quality. The only thing I'm skeptical about is the cooling

I think that you should get the razer blade stealth, it's a good gaming PC, although it is a bit more pricey than these options, coming in at around £1,100

currently a model with a 3gb gtx 1060, 256gb m2, and the i5-8300 for 700$. On both amazon and newegg. Really considering it as a temporary rig, until the 4k cyberpunk build + screen

I got the ASUS TUF FX 505 with a i5 9300h and a 1650 with 8bg of 2666mhz and a 512ssd for $606 on black friday, performs pretty well. Can do 60fps on most games by adjusting some settings, but on the 10 y/o games that I play, I get 60fps on the highest settings. And for 26 bucks boosted its performance a bit with another stick of ram

@Omega Hoplite thunder bolt usb type c provides laptops with low end gpu to use external gpu and can connect VR for that port. So it's useless for now.

I bought this laptop a month ago and mostly been gaming lightly on it (Mainly playing Diablo 3, Half Life 2 Mods and GMOD) so I haven't really gotten to try out stuff like Final Fantasy XV or The Witcher 3. The thing I'm not impressed with it some of the colors and the screen. I thought my other one had a much better screen but with the new I5 Core CPUS and GTX 1050 it's an alright thing.
I have the ASUS Tuf fx500, it is good, but takes a while to load things in, but gaming wise, it gets things done

If You would get a IPS FHD display with all external things (such as mouse & keyboard), You'll get Budget/Medium class gaming (PC + Display + Other = 700 + 150 + 75 = 925$) station which You can take wherever You want (only if there will be power supply) and continue Your gaming everywhere You are. In my opinion, that's more than enough.

Nice video very informative except you don’t mention how it would do with a VR rig. Is it not possible to do VR on a laptop? If yes can you do a video on that please?
Yoi wouldn't get the best performance on VR games on a GTX 1050, especially the laptop version which has lower clock speeds. I would recommend that you are least look for a laptop with a GTX 1060 for smooth/ideal performance.
So buy this now, and upgrade to a SSD in couple months when i won't be broke , cause i brought the laptop.
I would definitely add 4GB DDR4 Ram to make it a 12GB Ram Google Chrome fighter.
