Scooter for touring is more resistant to road kickback. Large wheels or soft suspension is good for touring. The biggest disadvantage of the default suspension in my opinion is the short stroke length. The new front suspension is just a version with added damping. Rather, sometimes it introduces a delay that prevents an astute reading of the road surface.
