WoW! You have just opened up a whole new area of sublimation for me! I love this!! Thank you!
So cute! Love the color of your shirt. Great job & thank you for sharing
Thank you for sharing, I love how it turned out so cute!
This was perfect!! I was just going to make some glow in the dark stuff and you explained it perfectly!!! Thank you so very much Corinne!! You always come through when I need you!!
🦄💖🦄💖🦄💖🦄💖🦄
Great tutorial! You explain everything perfectly. You make sure not to leave anything out. Thank you so much!
Best tutorial I have found on this...THANK YOU!
I love you. Great job instructing. I was so confused but you made it so clear now. Can't wait to try it. Thank you!
This is a great tutorial, and an adorable design! Thanks for sharing!
i'm so glad 143 vinyl made this! I was getting ready to start making one, and have not got very far. that resource document is gold haha.
I totally love it! Love the Glow in the Dark and Sublimation combo! Please do some more similar videos for Halloween and Dia de los Muertos.
my kid is so excited for me to make her something similar!!! I have been saving my glow-in-the dark htv for something fun :)
I love your encouraging words that WE can do it!
I have watched a lot of sublimation videos and I can honestly say that this is THE video that convinced me I now need a sublimation printer! Thank you!
Lol I’m so happy for you! Seriously it’s so fun! You will love it!
Ty this was so informative nice to see I can sublimate with the glow in the dark. 😊
Love the glow in the dark lesson thank you
Exactly like it did before I washed it :) I am wearing it after two washes in the beginning of the video
This is Joe Vorell from the youtube group, keep up the great content!
Neat. Love that it glows through the ink.
This is so cute 🥰
OMG how cute love it.. Thanks for the video. I want to get my hands on the Starcraft SOLO cutter I saved up please please confirm its releasing tmrw
Do the colors fade? I made one and the colors faded and it looked horrible.
Eso funciona sobre cualquier Glow vinyl? Yo intente sobre uno y no funciono. No es de la marca Siser
Thank you for the tutorial!! Do you use the same size in Inkscape as your offset in cricut design space? Thank you!
Yes otherwise they won’t match up
Hi, great project,, I am new to using cricut and learning so much from your videos, do you have tips on how to apply HTV to full Zipper hoodie? Thanks and appreciate all of your hard work in putting out such helpful videos
That’s always a tough one because of the zipper and seams pressing pillows are a must
Question, have you ever tried sublimating to the HTV before pressing it on the shirt? Like the method some folks use with easy subli. Place your sublimation image face up on top of a piece of parchment paper on the heat press. Now place your peeled off cut out of glow htv on top of the paper , top that with another piece of parchment paper(much easier to line up this way). then press for 5 seconds with light pressure, now you can flip it so that your sublimation paper is on the top and glow htv on bottom. Now run it for the full time to fully sublimate on to the glow htv. once your done remove it from the press to let it cool, then peel it off the parchment paper carefully , and then press to the shirt. I have never sublimated on glow htv but im about to try for the first time! I hate having to try to line up the design over top of the pressed vinyl so this is how i HOPE to do it lol. It works great with easy subli but this glow htv has a sticky carrier sheet and is a diff type of material so who knows how it will do! I am probably going to have to place teh glow htv under the press without it down for a few minutes to make it easier to peel off the carrier sheet without stretching it.
Yes I’ve done that as well works fine
@@CorinneBlackstone awesome! I just did it! It worked great! I actually used the carrier sheet to pull it back off the parchment paper. So cool! :)
Nice video. I use Sawgrass paper to transfer the image. The paper backing does not want to come off, do you have any suggestions? I tacked. the vinyl for about 5 seconds then used 385 for 40 seconds to transfer the ink. Thanx for any help.
Use a damp cloth to wet the paper and it should come off
Thanks for this video. Love it! What colour HTV did you use? Also does HTV stay permenent on tshirt and fabrics
Htv is permanent and it’s glow in the dark everything is linked in the video description
I love it!!!
Did you change the temp or did you just add more time using the same temperature
I pressed the vinyl for a very short time then added the sublimation
My paper stuck to the vinyl and didn't transfer well at all. I do this method with glitter and holographic htv and have never had this problem. Do I need to let the vinyl cool before applying the sublimation?
Yes it’s best to let layers cool. Also not all sub paper is the same so you can try a different brand of paper it might help
I love glow in the dark! but I'm new to all this and I have one questions, can you sublimate on different color vinyl's? Does it always have to be white or white glitter or clear?
It needs to be light colors
Would like to know if this can go on acrylic blanks. Glow in dark home decor would be so cool. Or glow in the dark aryclic key chains oh yeah I want to so that now. Also what is the darkest color will an image glow? Do we need to use light color images or it dont matter. I want to make this into a magnet for my son too
It can yes. I don’t recommend htv for hard surfaces but you can also sub on permanent glow in the dark which would be a better option
Awesome tutorial! 😍 I am working on a rollerskate glow in the dark order & plan to sublimate the image. You mentioned your temp for the htv was 380°, did you press the sub. print at 380° too?
Yes everything was pressed at 380
@@CorinneBlackstone Cool! 😊 Thank you for replying back! I mistakenly over heated & pressed my design yesterday. 🤦🏻♀️ The sub paper "glued" to my glow in the dark htv. I'll test your temp & time...hopefully with better results. 🤞🏼
I just done this and my sublimation did not adhere to the glow in the dark htv. What did I do wrong?
BTW, I'm using Ab Sub paper.
Hi I love the video it was very helpful. Also I really love the unicorns you had in your files where can I get them?
This is where I got them from designbundles.net/plusstore/802296-halloween-unicorn-illustrations?pref=ddMZ1K&ref=ddMZ1K
To help with dye migration can you sublimate the glow HTV prior to adding it to substrate?
It is an option yes. It’s a couple step process using a Teflon sheet but it can be done
I recently did this and the shirt came out great but then after a couple weeks I noticed that the images were blurry now. When I initially made the shirt the lines were clean. And idea what might be causing this? The shirt hasn’t been washed or dried but it was worn.
That’s odd I’ve both washed and dried mine and it’s fine. I’m not sure why it would be blurring
Hi great video so when you went to inkspace is it the same size you had it on cricut or did u leave the offset on the image ?and thats why you went to inkspace to print it? Thank you
That’s why you noted the size of the image in design space not the offset. You want to make it the same size as the image. If you make it the same as the offset it won’t match up perfectly because htv shrinks
You go to inkscape to print because cricut design space cannot print that larger
@@CorinneBlackstone .h ok thank you
So I did this on a black shirt and the white part of the offset actually looks gray. Do you think that it is the fibers from the shirt or should I have lint rolled the glow in the dark HTV maybe? did you notice anything on your shirt in the "white" space? I still think it looks great and for my niece she would not even notice it but to me I know it lol
Its likely dye migration which is when the dye from the shirt gets into the HTV. This is common with cheap dye used in a lot of shirts.
When printing your sublimation print what size on your printer are you using from the options?
Letter
I made a shirt with an off brand glow in the dark HTV off Amazon. It had good reviews so figured I try it out to sublimate onto it. I did and it turned out great. A few days later I noticed the black ink was starting to smudge and when I rubbed my fingers on it, it would smear the ink!!! It was perfectly fine and didn’t smudge prior to sitting for a few days. Didn’t wash it or anything!! Do you happen to know why this would happen? Is there anything I can do differently for future? I almost am wondering if it has to do with the type of glow in the dark HTV. I was under the impression you could use any glow in the dark HTV, but maybe this isn’t the case?
That seems super odd since sublimation is actually dying the fibers. It shouldn’t just rub off. Likely it’s the htv itself not being of good quality and possibly heating it for sublimation broke down the coating
@@CorinneBlackstone I’ll have to give another brand a try!
Awesome! How is it holding up in the wash ?? How many times have you washed it so far ??
It’s fine no issues
What brand of paper are you using please?
I've tried a bunch of different times and temps and just don't seem to get good results.
I noticed someone else who was having trouble was using A Sub paper like I was. I wonder if there's any chance that's making the difference.
I use Starcraft
@@CorinneBlackstone Thanks!
Can you use Siser DTV for the sublimation on top of the Siser Glow in the dark?
No. Dtv is not for sublimation and it is a solid sheet of vinyl so you won’t see glow in the dark through it
@@CorinneBlackstone
Thank you
Thank you for sharing this I had no idea u could do this on glow in the dark. How does it wash?
Just fine no fading at all
Can you do the same thing with infusible Inc. instead of sublimation ink
Yes infusible ink is just sublimation under a different name
@@CorinneBlackstone Thank you so much for replying so quickly and for the great news
Do you do the same time n temp on 100% polyester
400 for 60 seconds
I used the exact same temps and my siser glow in the dark vinyl melted and made my sub paper stuck to my shirt. When I tried to peel it off, half the vinyl peeled away. My shirt is ruined. I only did 30 seconds. 😢
What press are you using? Did you have a protective layer between the press and the paper?
For some reason I've been following every video about sublimation on htv (like this one) and the picture or print colors are so dull. I have adjusted every single setting to the recommended ones on the videos but yet nothing. Do you have any ideas why this may be happening ? I have an epson T2720. Sublimation ink and the same glow on the dark brand. TY in advance 😊
What kind of paper are you using? What ink do you have?
@@CorinneBlackstone sisser glow. I have that one and also another brand (not very known but instead of green it glows blue) But yeah. I've been trying to do it on the sisser and nothing. I did downloaded the file you mentioned fron the website for temps and time.
@@darwingpaez9351 but what kind of paper are you using and ink for the sublimation? The siser glow in the dark isn’t paper that is heat transfer vinyl
well I must have done it to long the paper is cooked to the htv. I don't know went wrong
bummer.
Why do my measurements keep changing on me? I entered in my measurements and when I try to move my image to the middle of paper or click print , they change on me. I can’t do anything without the numbers changing on me. My offset ends up being a lot larger than the print and my butcher paper melted my htv 😔 when I pressed the image.
Ok lots to unpack here. Make sure you lock the measurements so be sure the little lock icon is closed. Next design space sucks right now and has been having a ton of problems with sizing to sadly it may just be something we have to wait for them to fix. Your butcher paper should not have anything to do with melting your htv. You may have some sublimation paper stuck to the htv just allow it to cool and take a little damp rag and rub it off. Also when applying htv you should be using a Teflon sheet or parchment paper. Butcher paper is more for your sublimation process not the htv portion of the heating
I was able to get the measurements locked in. I will try again in a few day to see if Cricut has fixed the sizing issue. Thanks for your help 😊
Hi I tried this and my colors weren’t vibrant like yours! What am I doing wrong lol I followed all of your instructions! I have hiippo ink and already have the printer sublimation settings..
Sometimes it could just be that your heat press isn’t hot enough. It’s not always printer settings but I will say the Starcraft ink has out performed all the inks with color vibrancy
Just wondering which brand of sublimation paper you're using? Someone else who's didn't turn out was using A-sub like I am so I'm wondering if the paper could be the problem.
How long will the colored sublimate last after washing the shirt?
I’ve washed this shirt almost every week since this video was published and it’s still in great shape
Can I use the inkjet paper I have? Don't have a printer yet.
No. This needs to be done with sublimation
Is it possible to use infusible ink over GITD HTV?
Yes infusible in is just pre printed sublimation
@@CorinneBlackstone Sweet! Thank you!
Wait! Can you do this on regular white HTV too???
No it doesn’t work on white
What’s paper the use for sumblimation the unicorn
All products used for the video are listed in the video description. I use Starcraft sublimation paper
Why is your paper not sticking to the image? Mine is super stuck and tears over the image. Any tips?
You may be over heating it. If you have paper stuck you can just rub it off with some water
My paper stuck too. I had no problem with the glitter htv, but at having all kinds of issues with the glow n the dark.
My sublimation paper keeps sticking to the HTV. Is there a trick for this?
Lower the pressure a bit but you can also just wash the shirt and the paper will come off
Can I use any glow in the dark HTV for this method?
I would assume so but I’ve only used siser brand so I can only guarantee it working on siser
I used glow in the dark htv this weekend & then sublimated on top of it. My htv turned the color of my shirt. I am not sure what I did wrong. I used the htv because my customer didn't want a blue soccer ball but it is now a blue soccer ball. I had been pressing sublimation for 60 seconds & I see where you did 40 seconds. Is that possibly where it went wrong? Have you had your glow in the dark HTV turn the color of the shirt
It’s called dye migration. This is common on shirts with cheap dye. But you may have heated it too long so you activated the dye
@@CorinneBlackstone Thank you so much for answering my question. I have been asking for days on facebook & could not get an answer. You're the best! Thank you!!
I was hoping there was a way to sublimate on the htv before ruining another shirt.
@@tonyawheat361 you can actually sublimate on the htv first. It’s not super simple but it can be done. You need to peel it off the carrier sheet and place it on a Teflon sheet then place the sub design and press with the Teflon sheet under the htv. Then you can press the htv to the shirt at the lower temp.
@@CorinneBlackstone Thanks again! I think I'll try this. I would have thought it would have stuck to the teflon sheet?
@@tonyawheat361 it sticks just a little bit but you can peel it off. Teflon is like silicone it’s made so stuff doesn’t stick
Hi the paper is it flex ?
No it’s Starcraft sublimation paper (coming soon) then it’s on top of siser htv glow in the dark it’s linked in the video description
Have you heard of anyone having a problem where the sublimated design turns blurry after the shirt sits for about a week? I just did a bunch of party favor tshirts using your video as a guide. They came out beautifully but now I’m worried
I haven’t I know some people did have some blurring after putting it in the dryer on high heat but I would either just line dry it or only use a low heat seating
I did a batch of drawstring bags and over time the images all blurred as the ink seems to spread. They were never washed or exposed to additional heat. They still look cool but either this has been happening all along or Siser changed the way they create the Glow in the Dark vinyl to sell more EasySubli
Does the ink wash off?
Nope!
Awesome I’m trying too start my company and this will definitely be an option for customers to have on there custom shirts
Im not sure why my Inkscape looks different
I use version .91 so that may be why yours is different
@@CorinneBlackstone must be it. I downloaded the 1.1 version I believe. Thank you for replying.
