Hi all! I have the Cricut Explorer and the Easy Press 2. I am trying to make different designs with print and cut feature on the cricut. I have seen several videos out there. Do I need sublimation coasters? I seen I could use Laminate If my coaster are ceramic. Also do I need a sublimation printer???? I thought you could use an Inkjet and then print , cut then press. I am so confused. Thanks
You are talking about two completely different things. Sublimation needs to be done with sublimation ink and printer plus sublimation paper and a polyester coated blank or material. Print then cut can be done with an inkjet printer and printable products. You MUST have a sublimation printer to do sublimation designs. This is a process where the ink is heated into a gas and then it dyes the fabric or coating of the blank. Using inkjet means you print onto a product that is made to be printed on and then place it ontop of the blank.

I have a question… why didn’t you just sublimate directly onto the blank? Why did you sublimate on the vinyl and then stick to the blank?

Make sure you are pressing very firmly with a hard surface. Also depending on brand it may be a littler different

Yes as long as it is cast acrylic you can sublimate on it
Do you use any spray or brush on sealer for the sublimation designs. I have seen products on amazon but have not seen where folks have used them.
No. Those are very gimmicky and they don’t last especially on things that get washed
