No movies, just good old fashioned corporate training, TEDx speaker coaching, and creating content to help professionals learn to communicate with confidence!
Hi Ruby! You've highlighted something that MANY people we work with experience. The fact is, you know your presentations better than anyone else so you are aware of every single fumble, mistake, and forgotten statement. But you have to remind yourself that your audience has NO IDEA about any of it. Muscians always make mistakes playing live but they just keep playing and no one actually notices, cares, or remembers. Another aspect to consider is that there will ALWAYS be room for improvement, but that doesn't mean you should nitpick the mistakes. Instead, you need to change your mindset to celebrate your success and be glad that you noticed the mistakes because they give you insights on how to improve. Only people who think they are perfect are unaware of their issues and never grow. Mistakes are normal, natural, and a good thing. We encourage you to watch our video on cultivating a growth mindset, the part of the video that focuses specifically on your question is at 12:24: ruclips.net/video/_iItNj7VDC0/видео.html (but of course we recommend the whole video haha) If you enjoy the topic of self-improvement then also watch our video on developing grit: ruclips.net/video/xM9Esaw0g4c/видео.html Hope this helps!
@@MoxieInstitute thank you much for your detailed answer. I have been watching your videos and they really helped me. 2 years ago i had a stroke and I know my mouth dries out when I speak and even more when i am stressed but your tips on warming up your voice really helped. When i want to not show up my mind would thinks of many reasons to cancel but I remind myself your rule to show up . I especially use your breathing strategies especially the budda belly. Ive found hardest in my current role is to deliver presentation created by others and the slides all look the same with bullet points so I used your tip of picking out a main point of each slide a trigger word or phrase on my notes and added my own visuals that would trigger my memory etc. I was so pleased that your tips wrorked.xx
@@ravina47 sorry to hear about your stroke that must have been so challenging. It's a testament to your strength and resolve that you are working so diligently to improve and empower yourself, you should feel very proud! It's truly wonderful to hear that our videos have helped you so much and it sounds like you're doing everything you need make significant changes, keep it up, it'll only get easier! In terms of dry mouth, it's great you're using belly breathing as that will help your nervous system remain calm and continue to produce saliva (stress/anxiety slows production). Another technique is to get into the habit of breathing in through your nose. When we breathe in through our mouths it can dry it out even faster. If you ever have any other questions feel free to ask!
