The most amazing thing is that Dan found another guy as crazy as he is to help him.
Extreme roofing lol
Having to look away at times no head for heights. Praying big Angel's keeping you all safe .what amazing friends you have All Treasures you are x❤❤❤❤❤love to all .Wonderful building. DAN You have and are doing the people who sheltered hear proud .I'm sure that when it's finished it will be a wonderful peaceful old lady to shelter from the Storms of life .love keeping safe to all those friends 🙏
That wind was blowing tree branches down in other parts of France. Holding on to those boards in the wind getting them in place was the most crazy thing I have seen you do yet. Respect to Nick - Master Rigger, using his full body weight to hold the boards down while they got nailed. Good Lord you guys have Angels watching over you!
I guess that it is the British way to do things over the other side of the Channel.
@@mrboyban I was born British, Never Defeated - Brittan Stands! Dan is at War with that Building if he has to defend it himself. God Love Him!
Dan: "we try to get this done safely" :D:D:D
yeah- not happening lol
Dan from your first tentative rappel to scrambling over the roof like a pro. In that terrible weather a lesser man would have thrown the towel in. Not our Dan!! 👍❤️
@@janjeffrey5679you mean a sane man would have waited for better wheather conditions (the guy has two kids)? Or a smart man would have taken precautions in order to not get in a situation where you have to put up a roof in a storm? wtf
This is better than anything on the TV. Suspenseful, wild weather and reality at its best. Dan, you are sure fortunate to have help working in that weather.
After 30 years in the business, this chateau has consistently been the most dangerous construction site I have ever seen. I hope Dan's luck holds out, but every time you think he's done taking chances; he finds new ways to prove that wrong.
look up "eclair" in a French dictionary and there is a picture of Dan working on a roof in a storm.
I'm so glad you guys were able to get as far as you did, but goodness that was scary! Nick truly is a legend. A big warm thank you to Nick and Calvin for helping this week. Safe travels to you, Calvin. Thank you for coming back to help, Sir. I hope you're able to come back again soon. I hope you fellas enjoy the weekend. See you next week! 😘💕
Courage and crazy overlap here. Gotta' love Dan and crew's commitment to excellence as they complete this Herculean task.
Only one word for what we’ve just witnessed...............” INCREDIBLE” ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅
You are so lucky to know Nick who has so much knowledge to give you and who is just as crazy as you out on that roof. This is a great milestone, the next part will be a piece of cake.🥴❣️❣️
Yes is he would let nick go, he would have had the whole Roof on!
You are the only youtube content maker who consistently causes me to hold my breath thru an episode. Glad you're all on the ground safe. Have a great weekend
Who needs the Oscars, when you have Dan and Crew....amazing work well done..
Sometimes when you watch something in a video, you forget just how extraordinary it is. Real people doing something amazing!
I have to say it: 'you are either fearless or crazy'. The whole time you have been working on the chateau I have feared for your life and held my breath as you went from the ground up to the roof. The physical effort and being careful to know where you are and not take a misstep that could lead to disaster has always been on my mind as you progressed. I am sure I will feel that same way until you complete rebuilding the structure. This has been better than watching a thriller at the movies and it's real life. Congratulations to you AND the whole crew who are on the journey with you. Hope to follow you all the way to the end.
Oh. My. GOSH!
1) Under such circumstances - I'm incredibly grateful for your sharing, and more, immensely proud you chose "Safety First!"
2) You, all of you, have such skills and abilities... I am in awe!
Please, continue to be safe, stay hydrated and know so many respect, appreciate, and love what you're accomplishing.
🕊✌️🦋🇺🇸
They won't forget this day anytime soon. That OSB will be just fine.
Thank God you are down and safe! I couldn’t help but think of sailors wrangling ropes and sails in a storm, high off the deck. Your lives are everything; take care!
Dear God, as someone who is afraid of heights my heart was in my mouth. You have such good friends to help you through the storms of life. Treasure them.
First time i have left a comment after months of watching you guys, this is a huge undertaking and you should be super proud of what you are achieving mate, i spent many years on the road as a pro musician and bought my first council house some years ago now, i used to watch my father as a kid who was a very talented builder and i picked up so much as i grew without knowing how this would shape my life. I have now fully renovated 3 properties and am also a full time landlord housing some lovely families who i care for very much. I have put my heart and soul into my homes which consist of summer houses, gyms, sauna rooms, hot tubs, and cinema rooms, all hand built by myself including the hot tubs which hold up to 4500 litres of water and are all timber built and glass fibred. you are an inspiration to myself and many others who are now hooked on your channel and i wish you all the very best with all you do. I hope many more of us get bitten by the bug and take the plunge just as we have. Blessings to you all..
The sheer grit and tenacity to get this done in all weathers is mesmerising and seat of your pants viewing. So glad you are all in good spirits. Enjoy the time off, and we hope the roof is all good in the coming storm. Regards to Calvin and Nick for their support. Well done Dan, fantastic teamwork in very difficult conditions. 😊
So close now. What an amazing feeling it will be when the roof is completely waterproof. Looking forward to following the progress with the walls, the floors, etc. There are so many of us eagerly following this! Well done, Dan, and the others. Have a well-deserved weekend with your family. Looking forward to next week with new updates!! Greetings from Sweden!!
Dan Undaunted Dan. He has remarkable resilience in the face of adversity. I think there are life lessons watching this. No matter how big the task, one step at a time and you can get there. I've worked alongside guys like this in the Army: their cheerful acceptance of the task to hand is infectious and inspirational.
Any person who would hang onto a roof in the middle of a storm with high winds is a friend indeed. Praying you don't get sick. I'm glad you called it when you did. Good luck over the weekend that all stays intact.
Hey Dan, I hate to break this to ya, but that ain't no roof. It's a freakin work of art. Unbelievable craftsmanship. Re the storm and your roof over the next few days - the house may collapse, but the entire roof will be sitting there on the ground in one piece!! Great workmanship...
You cannot be serious, Moose. Nice thought though 🙄
Dan....where the heck are you, we miss you!!! 2-28-2024
Dan, so glad you have the ‘dream team’ working with you. Y’all are doing a fantastic job ❤
Hot soak, hot tea-maybe hot rum, clean warm socks. You have lived to tell this tale. It's going to be alright because you'll make it work. Glad you all are alive and the underlayment is mostly covering. It's better than nothing. Hope all had a good meal and good night's sleep!
Best chateau vlog on RUclips. Thank you, Dan, Nick, Cameron, and friend of Nick.
Calvin, friend of Dan's.
@@jmk1962 Orange Pants Man, friend of Dan’s
Your determination is something to be admired. Just be careful up there.
OMG talk about working under difficult conditions, good on you Dan Nick and Calvin, what a shocker of a day, weather wise. 💨🌧️🙏❤️👏👏👏👏
I love the hammer on the strap. Be careful Mates! We are rooting for you.
This was brutal,
the work was heroic!
This wind is pretty strong and your only up just over 3 stories and I'm thinking what kind of wind High rise builder's contend with. So glad everyone is safe and properly harnessed.
I'm lost for words - that was simply heroic! Nick, you are a courageous, loyal, multi-talented and reliable soul. Glad Calvin was around to hand up the pieces, and that he didn't have to pick up pieces of you both 😅And, don't worry, Dan, you nailed it - literally - it'll stay put!!
I think that Dan and Nick had the best day ever today. Their idea of real boys fun!
Crazy, brilliant! That took guts!
Stunning drone footage at the end showing brilliant progress in difficult conditions. Well done.
So glad to see you safe back on the ground 😘 Lots of love and respect from Denmark, were the storm arrived to night.
@@subscriptions1586 Are you really correcting the writing of danish people? How rude of you!
well.... that was an epic production....... exciting - wasn't it.
have a nice weekend - cheers!
Absolutely the most exciting, dangerous, achievements i have ever seen on a vedieo/TV. Praying for no rain or winds until your finished. Dan and Nick incredible achievements.
Dan it is Tuesday are you Ok?. Did that storm make you ill.
Bravo Dan , Nick and Cameron. You filming while you’re up on the roof, I felt like I was up there with you guys. This is going to be an awesome movie of the chateau build. May God watch over you during this build and send his angels to watch over you always. Blessings to all 🙏❤️
You two are my heros! I know what it feels like being that person that puts the project before my personal well-being. You two did it!
Oh my gosh😮😮😮😮 the suspense ...the wind the rain pouring...thank God you are all safe. I pray pray that the compressed board stays without swelling . DAN I am holding my breath again and I have to wait until monday😮 stay safe.
The ledge board at the bottom of the roof line is without a doubt in my mind a life-saver. I've never seen that done before and it's brilliant. Dan, you amaze us again.
In spite of the weather, the château is progressing beautifully. Enjoy your weekend with family and friends.
❤ from TX!
Hey Dan and Nick ARE YOUR MUMS WATCHING THIS!!! They must be worried sick! I am a Mom,Grandmom and Great Grandmom! I love your channel. My Husband and I look forward to watching you. You are doing an Awesome job. Please be safe. Blessings form Sue and Jack in Southern,Delaware
Praying that the golden spirits that you are, Dan and Nick, will be blessed. I marvel already at what you're doing and daring to do. There must be angels in the mix.
Where are you this week Dan????? You and your crew are missed!!!!!!
He is making his daily vlog I think…..
Дэн, вы огромные молодцы. Каждое утро мы с женой следим за вашими успехами. Будьте осторожны, это очень сильный ветер, ваша жизнь дороже любой крыши, даже если эта крыша - произведение искусства.
I don’t normally post comments on videos I watch, I had to make an exception here. You have the attention of an entire Canadian family that just recently did a 4000 km tour of France. You are an amazing human being and very entertaining to watch. Great videos and you are absolutely doing what a lot of us wish we could do. Keep up the amazing work. Can’t wait for the next update.
I did one roofing job in my life. Never again. You guys have my respect.
I just looked at all 242 video's in the last three days.
It is great that you are getting the roof done, but it is also great how you are feeling more comfortable with the harness and rope when it has not been that long since you started using them.
You are incredible ! During painting and "enduit" do not hesitate to organize a participative workshop !
Meine Güte, ihr seid echt verrückt bei diesem Wetter auf dem Dach zu arbeiten. Ich hoffe, dass eure Arbeit belohnt wird und nichts kaputtgeht bei diesem Sturm. Ich drücke euch die Daumen
You are so fortunate to have Nick helping you! He's great and you are such a good worker!♥️♥️♥️😘
For those asking why there are no new vlogs, Dan said at the end of the last one that the next would be today. Check out his post in the community section saying the next vlog is tomorra!
❤Did a wonderful job with the cladding, yes! dangerously, but I'm sure your all happy with the outcome.
Any person who would hang onto a roof, and halfway off a roof, in the middle of a storm with high winds and rain, are great friends for sure. This is better than anything on the TV. It is reality at its best of the best. Friends helping you in insane weather. Risking their lives to help a friend so to speak. You had the suspense, wild rainy weather and high winds. Hanging on top of a tall building together to get the job done. The two of you clinging to the roof for dear life, lying on the boards to stop them flying away before bringing the nail gun into action. Kept me on the edge of my chair. But I knew you were safe in a way with your rope gear on and friends by your side. Dan and Nick! So glad you're both safe! Respect for you all of you for getting the work done as much as possible even in this bad weather. great job everyone!
Watching you guys gives me anxiety I find myself holding my breath. Heights and winds...no way. You never cease to amaze me your bravery. Prayers to keep you all safe.
And, once again, Dan-the-man (and Nick and Orange Pantman) lives to work on his chateau another day! 💪🏼👏🏼👊🏼
Love, Jacqueline from New Zealand
Hearing the wind makes it really exciting!!
Dan the Man and Nick the Knight!
Thank goodness for Nics' expertise in harnessing... hang in there, let's hope it's all good x
Dan, it's now Friday here in Italy your storm has arrived. Only now I appreciate fully what you were up against in that howling gale, up on the roof! That took more than guts. Not many would have had the courage to do that.😮❤
Wow, thank goodness for Nick and Calvin and I’m so happy you are all safe Dan. That was extreme. Thank goodness too for nail guns and electric chainsaws as they made things so much quicker. Kudos to you Dan. Thank you. May you all please take care and stay safe. Louisa. 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🤩🤩🤩
I didn’t realize I was holding my breath until you got down!!!
Man alive, can't believe what I just watched. That is as you say the most extreme Dan. Wow.
I applaud 👏🏻 your work ethic, Dan & Nick. Climbing around on that roof, even with the safety equipment would have scared me senseless. When I was younger, I would have been there with you, now not so much.
Wow, true friends to help in weather like that. ❤.
That feeling of roofing in a storm... Very unpleasant. I had a huge tarp over my entire house and it ripped apart in a storm in the middle of the night. I still have ptsd looking at you guys!
What a tough day for everyone! And what an immense amount of work to get to this point. Here's hoping everything stays solid over the weekend!
I understand scaffolding gets expensive, but it is worth everyone's safety. Be well and much honor to you.❤
Nick is an absolute hero. I was getting stressed just watching this.
This was like watching the opening of a 007 film! Heart pounding👏👏👏
Wow! I don’t know how you were able to accomplish so much in that wind and rain!
You have some great mates! Y’all be careful up there!
Jeeze! Talk about feeling part of the action, just watching! Hairy!
Of all days for the wind to be so bad. Boy Dan you and Nick will have quite the story to tell when you get this done. So proud of you and excited to see the roof basically on. Wow.
With all of his piercings and nose rings Nick is probably sounding like a wind chime in that breeze. lol
Omg, that wind is so strong, Always praying for safety for you all.
When your pinning the t&g down ,only pin the bottom , it means you can slide the next one in easily because of the flex ,then go bk and pin the previous one fully
@@subscriptions1586grow up , it's boring, imagine trawling the internet, looking for a grammar mistake 😂😂
Suspenseful!!! 🥹🥹🥹❤️🙏🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Anybody throw up a prayer when that board lifted! Good grief! I don't venture out on foot if it's too windy and our boys are building a bloomin roof! Take care, have a rest, team! Another prayer for roof incoming 🙏🙏❤️
They should make a movie about that episode.
You certainly have the ‘bull dog’ sprit Dan 👏Have a well deserved couple of days rest!
What’s a little anxiety amongst friends! Geeesh!!! Good job, all of you. 😬👏🏻😬
Guys, do you remember the first day Dan arrived at the chateau? And what a progress. So much hard work. Great team.
When my husband and I built our 2story house, we were lifting our 4x8’ plywood sheets up when a sudden wind gusted, caught a sheet and carried my husband with it over the edge😮 fortunately, his fall was broken by a wall from the floor below. Incredibly scary, and a good reason why a harness is so necessary. Lucky for us that only bruises resulted, but could have been life changing. Glad you are taking serious precautions!
Thank goodness you had Nick to teach you “the ropes”! One of the rare times I’ve heard Dan saw it was scary! It must have been as bad as it looked.
Well done gentleman!!! Enjoy your well deserved days off!
What a suspence! Six days and no up date... I sure hope everything is okay!
Hang in there, Dan. You did the best you could. Thank you, Dan❤
My heart was in my mouth watching you two up on that roof Please take care ❤
What a wild day with wind and rain. Glad you all are safe.
Well done y'all. I'm so impressed with your grit and determination. Please take some time off and sit back with your friends round
a warm fire an
enjoy a beer or two. 😊
Thank goodness all went good. You rest up and tell Nick to take care of himself
As long as it’s decent osb it’ll be fine for a couple days of rain. Just give it a few days in the sun to fully dry before applying the membrane
That was insane! Good friends to the rescue! And thank goodness for a harness is all I’m saying. Don’t worry Dan. A couple of days will be fine with rain. It’s all good!
Well done Dan Nick and team you are all crazy brave and nearly there
Gordon Bennett!(an Australian exclamation), mountain climbing in high winds and building your mountain as you go...get a net fellas! What a job...well done team.
What a terrible day to have to put the roof on, you all need a medal and danger money, amazing. Well done all xx
It looks like Dan's crazy helper is holding for dear life!!! This is the best DIY Chateau redo of any on RUclips. No one comes close.
