Totoro the cockatiel saw a large bowl of soup on their owner's desk and decided to eat it. Unfortunately, every time they leaned down to drink from the bowl, their owner made a loud noise to stop them.
In the end, it's not attempted theft, it's attempted robbery.

He’s actually pretty well behaved. My ‘tiel walked across my plate of spaghetti to get his perfect noodle!
He was just bartering, "here hooman I gib your spaghets speshul flavor with mai feets, in exchange I will take this noodle. Thank you for heccing transaction. ovo"
I just let mine sit on the side of the plate and pick at stuff. If they try for further then I have ro stop them ... they stand in thier poop 😆

Haha reminds me of my tiel he loved to land right where the food was and help himself i didnt cage him all day he actually had his own room too with a cage that I didn't lock he had freedom to come and go in his own room...we usually had eggs and rice or noodles out if it was something he could eat like fresh greens or eggs rice etc I'd let him share my plate since birds like to eat together like a community kinda thing lmao...i always showered him everyday so dirtiness wasn't a problem...he was a great alarm clock too always woke me up right on time at 8am...he would climb or fly to my bed and come right next to my pillow and gently tug and tap at my nose or lips and sing a song of his people to me lmao...i miss him still even after he's been gone for 15 years now...he was my little buddy...

My little buddy was always with me after i got out of the hospital i left his cage open when he was in the living room and he would always climb down in the morning and climb into my bed and he snuggle up to my face watching over me and whenever it was time to wake up he would peck the side of my face. Ive raised him and hes been in my life since i was 6, I couldnt ask for a better friend.

I had a lutino, I was eating cheerios when she came over to try some. She'd pull one out and eat it. Then she stepped up on the edge of the bowl and was drinking the milk. Finally she turned around stepped down in the milk and started taking a bath! I laughed so hard it scared her, and she ran leaving a trail of milk, mum was yelling. Funniest thing.

My cockatiel, Baby, loves to eat ice and drink out of my glass, then he'll preposterously try to bathe in the glass, when he clearly won't fit. He's a goofball.
My teil does this and when i was not looking he drank my miso like it was his water. He almost jumped into my rice bowl too.. then i realised that he only wanted to be included and join us eat so i set a plate for him filled with his seeds and then he calmed down and eats with us. CUTES

Oh I hope he isn't on a seed diet. If so, I'd really drive him out of it and make him switch to pellets. 'Tiels are at higher risk of developing fatty liver disease due to the high fat contents from seeds. Try Harrison's or Zupreems!!

@@thomas2thumbs They really have uncouth manners when food is involved. I used to make tortillas with pepper jack cheese melted, and the whole flock always flew after me and hung on my clothes and hands to get as much.
@Anne Turner That is what I do, but they still want to see what they are missing. Mine are 28 years old and have tried everything, and know that if I am mixing something it is probably medicine. Their curiosity about my food is mostly over, but they still watch from their cages. I don't let them out now as they can crash and get hurt. Their flight range is greatly reduced with age, but now they concentrate on mocking me. :)

They need real food every day in addition to their seed diets. They love fresh greens such as well washed romaine lettuce, and pasta of any kind. Why not share some of your soup? 😊 Unless of course it has garlic in it. Then I understand. Ours lived to 33 and passed just a few years ago. The vets were amazed.

My tiel literally does the same thing minus the screaming. I swear whatever I’m eating he always comes over to me stares at me for a few seconds then runs up to the food and tries to take a bite. So far he’s stolen some noodles and rice and has attempted at stealing my whole gogurt when I wasn’t looking which he ended up dropping and spilling
