Thanks for the video! Brought back good memories of my first visit in 2005. Trail has not changed though there are now more campsites than then. In recent years I have participated in the AFT race, running the 14 mile distance. Really good trail race. Thanks again for the video. High quality- you deserve more subs.
Nice to meet Zane. Porcupine nesting trees usually look that way at the base. Great looking trail, to bad about the dead stream. Tell Dave he works to much, HA HA. Thanks for the great video.
Yup, definitely porcupine crap around that tree. When I first started hiking this area 15 years ago, there was so much more (and fresher), especially around Wolf Rocks. I think the fisher population has increased and cut down on the porcupines since then though.
Great Video. Thank you for the tour of AFT. We did OLP based on one of your other trail videos and loved it. I'm putting this one on the list based on this video. Thank you!
Looked like a great trip! If you can, you have to get up to that area in mid October (leave changing peak). I did this trail last year at that time and it was breath taking with color.
Caleb, I've found that while planning my trip the Purple Lizard map of Moshannan, which includes the AFT, is much more detailed and includes vistas and campsites.
I've heard good things about the Purple Lizard maps but have no experience with them myself. I generally just pair up the DCNR maps with Jeff Mitchell's Backpacking Pennsylvania 37 Great Hikes for my PA trip planning.
Nice video! I did this only a few weeks after you! Great trail! I'm starting up my vlogging with backpacking, thanks for the vids! If you ever need/want a backpacking vlogger partner to hit the trail with, ket ne know! I go every weekend somwhere
Hello Daniel. The Black Forest Trail is a 42 mile loop farther north in Pennsylvania. I'll include a link to our video of it below. It is very rugged but also extremely beautiful. We highly recommend it! ruclips.net/video/fFEhn7xBBL0/видео.html
the good old classic pocket rocket! one of my favorite trails.

Glad you enjoyed it! This was a really nice trail. Very well maintained.

Thanks for the confirmation. Yeah I've spent a lot of time in the woods but hadn't ever run across a porcupine nesting tree.
Thank you. On my list.👍🇫🇷
Cool video. Looks like a trail I need to check into. Thanks for sharing.
I definitely recommend it! Great for an extended weekend trip and since it's a loop you only need one car.

That's awesome. Glad you find the videos helpful. Happy hiking!
Woo looked cold the first day. Thanks for taking is along. Love the AFT. You should do it again in June or October.
Let's say the first day involved a fair amount of character building haha
@@vistaventures1343 haha thanks again very well done

Thanks! I'm planning on trying to do the Loyalsock this fall and perhaps the Quehanna as well.
Vista Ventures both should be amazing
A little late to the party! The pellets you kept finding were from Porcupine!
Thanks. Yeah we figured it out later in the trip haha.

Hi Jason. Thanks! Hope your trip wasn't quit so frigid haha.
Is this trail some people call Black Forest Trail?

@@vistaventures1343 Thanks much, I love hiking in the Pennsylvania trails.
Fake Dave seems like a pretty cool guy! 😂
He's alright haha
@@vistaventures1343 that was definitely porcupine scat... I'm willing to bet that big boulder patch is their den
Caleb, I believe that's porcupine crap!
Hi Jared. Yeah we figured that out later. Never seen anything like that before haha.
Do you guys have pics on Instagram?
We haven't got on Instagram. Our RUclips channel is the only platform we are really active on at the moment. Thanks!
