Kudos for putting Sanchez so high. IMO the best villian of the series, the man is a sadist, he is a cruel, but you can see why people will want to work for him. Loyalty more important than money, is loyal to his henchmen if they are loyal to him. Also the scenes between him and Bond are phenomenal, yes you can see that Sanchez and Bond are mirror images of each other. Also, Sanchez’s demise is brilliant the way he exclaims “You could have had everything!” and Davi gives a phenomenal performance.
LTK is actually a top 5 Bond film for me as controversial as that may seem, but it’s got a lot to do with Davi’s portrayal of Sanchez. Some of the best scenes are the ones where he’s just chatting with Bond, and that’s while coming from one of the most action oriented Bond films.
Agree with spaceodds, LTK is in my view THE most underrated of all the Bond films, as is Dalton who is a close the Flemings character description yet. Mads Mikleson's Le Chiffre is probably my favorite as the odds are against him and he is desperate, Mads reptile like performance is electrifying. In no order... Le Chiffre Red Grant Silva Sanchez Scaramanga
"A lot of kids were probably afraid of jaws" actually so many kids wrote in to say they wanted jaws to be a good guy that they rewrote moonraker to give him a good ending
Famke Janssen achieved something no other Bond Girl ever did.She was both a baddie and an actress who survived the "curse"going on to X-Men,Hansel&Gretel,The Faculty,Deep Rising,100 Feet, and what should've won her a Golden Globe,Turn The River.Trust me folks,it's excellent.
You'd think Bond film swould be a platform to launch Bond girls careers, but turns out to be the opposite (with the exception of Janssen and Jane Seymour)
@@pdzombie1906 Terri Hatcher, Tanya Roberts, Diana Rigg, and Honor Blackman are some of the successful "Bond Gals". But the bulk of them have established themselves and THEN made the cut. So the thesis is factually accurate.
@@bonghunezhou5051 - Stana Katic, too, though her place as a "Bond Girl" might be questionable (she's the Canadian Intelligence agent who's being duped by the same guy who'e duped Vesper Lind at the end of QUANTUM OF SOLACE). I think she was originally supposed to be Gemma Atherton's Strawberry Fields, the Agent Bond slept with who then got killed - but production started so late she was already working on the first season of CASTLE by then! I was surprised they even recast her in that tiny part, considering Eon's usual response to people having to leave because it's taking the Broccolis too long to raise money....
I think Hugo Drax is a great villain, highly underrated. He had some of the best villain lines “you appear with the tedious inevitability of an unloved season”
For me, the scariest scene in any Bond movie wasn't some villain trying to kill Bond (which you know they can never do); it was when Drax had his huge Dobermans chase his female assistant through the forest to tear her to pieces.
Between this, channels like Calvin Dyson and the Bond films being free on Amazon Prime late last year to rekindle my interest, I finally bought a box set. Blu Ray! It's like I no have a Bond film for any time, mood or occasion. They run the gamut but most are complete treasures.

Some of the best Bond films are the ones where he's mentally jousting with the villain; Robert Davi and Timothy Dalton really deliver. License to Kill is a really underappreciated film and Robert Davi is a ridiculous underappreciated actor.
I think License to Kill also has the best (and only) headbutt from Bond. In Sanchez' drug lab near the climax, Dalton tosses a beaker of alcohol on a bunsen burner as he turns to give a legit headbutt on some henchman. It's such an epic moment in such an epic film.
Sanchez is the most realistic villain. He isn't trying to take over the world with a laser from space, he's just a ruthless drug dealer. It's scary to realize that there probably are real drug lords like him.
Robert Davi performance was so dam good for a villain. And that scene towards the end where he began to really get mad. “ I don’t give a shit about the setup we got 500kgs in the case and 20 ton in the tankers!”
I’m so happy Sanchez has been receiving his flowers in the last few years. Everyone really coming around to appreciate just how charming and masterfully played he is by Robert Davi. He feels more in line with a proper Goldfinger level villain.
I will say, as much as I (and pretty much everyone) hated the step brother relationship, my favorite Christoph moment from Spectre is the line he delivers when he starts the detonator: “That’s brothers for you. They always know which buttons to press.”
I had the pleasure of helping out at a movie convention years ago.. I was stationed next to Richard Kiel and his wife...next to David Hess, Jeffrey Combs, and Pam Greer Mr. Kiel and his wife were the sweetest people i have had luxury of dining with...Rest in Power
"I get a kick out of the great James Bond making a fool of himself." I always really dig Robert Shaw Red Grant in From Russia with Love probably the best underrated Bond movie from the great Sean Connery.
Also in that same scene, Grant: "You may know the right wines, but you're the one on your knees." Connery was great too in that you could almost see the wheels turning in his head trying to come up with a way to escape what seemed certain death. Great scene.
Suggestions for lists: - Sexiest Bond girls: Not necessarily the most physically attractive, but the ones who had the most alluring presence and femme fatale vibes. - Best Bond gadgets: No need to limit it just to gadgets Bond uses; the radial saw yoyo from Octopussy, for example was pretty cool. - Top action scenes: The modern Bond films have that Jason Bourne quick-cut shakycam aesthetic, but that doesn't necessarily make the action scenes better. Some of the practical effects in the earlier Bond films were just amazing. - Best cold open: Some of the worst Bond films had some pretty spectacular cold opens, and vice versa. - Best Bonds-that-never-were: A lot of people have been considered to play Bond over the years as you've noted in this series, and it would be interesting to rank them in order whom you believe would have made the best Bond. (It might be equally interesting to do a list of the opposite, the potential Bonds you consider the most ludicrous options.) - Best supporting roles: There have been a lot of Qs, Ms, Moneypennys, and Felix Leiters over the course of the films, some better than others. I'd be curious to know, for example, whether you place Judy Dench or Desmond Llewelyn first.
Baron Samedi deserves an honorable mention. The very end scene of Live and Let Die leaves an unfinished chapter in the adventure leaving it open to imagination!!!
I always say in Live and Let Die, Baron Samedi and Tee Hee are the true villains. No disrespect to the late Yaphett Kotto but Mr. Big/Kananga was just there. A case where the henchmen overshadow the villain
I'm so glad Mayday made the list. She was the best thing about A View to a Kill. But I think Silva deserves to be higher. I know Blofeld kind of had to be #1 and I think Trevelyan is a good pick for #2, but Silva at least deserved #3. He and Trevelyan are tied as my favorite Bond villains.
best Bond villains (henchmen/women not included) 1. Ernst Stavro Blofeld ( you only live twice) 2. Auric Goldfinger 3. Dr. No 4. Elektra King 5. Le Chiffre 6. Alec Trevelyan (006) 7. Elliot carver 8. Sanchez 9. Dr. Francisco Scaramanga 10. Hugo Drax
My favorite Main Bond villains are : 1# *The Hitcher* from the 2007 remake 2# *Dracula* aka Count Dooku 3# Anton Sugar 4# The pervert from *The Dirty Dozen* 5# Parker from *Alien* My favorite Bond films : 1# GoldenEye 2# Skyfall 3# The Spy Who Loved Me 4# GoldFinger 5# License To Kill
I think the most sinister villain, certainly the one that sounded the most sinister, was Joseph Wiseman as Dr. No. Also agree with Robert Shaw, "You may know the right wines, but you're the one on your knees."
i really appreciate that you mentioned Batistas acting skills ☝️😌 and on the other hand, imagine a Blofeld superior to Bond on mental & physical levels...man, what a showdown that may be
I always liked General Orlov from Octopussy. The man almost helped start WW3! Steve Berkoff is just a great bad guy, like he was training for his coming roles in Rambo 2 and Beverly Hills Cop!!
Great list! Sir Roger is great but yeah Mayday and Zorin are the best bit of the film in AVTAK. Those bad guys in licence to kill were next level antagonists!! Epic movie!
Agreed on Sanchez -- he was a great bad guy, because the movie took the time to let you think he and Bond COULD be friends...if he hadn't maimed Felix Leiter and killed his wife Jenna on their Wedding Night! Great list overall - yeah, Doctor No is not only not all that great as Bond Villains go, he's also...problematic. And Christopher Lee's Scaramanga just didn't work opposite Roger Moore's Bond - it felt like they were acting in two different movies. And nobody in THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS was worthy of being a Bond Villain...except maybe Dalton's Bond himself!
@@theshadowman1398 Donald Pleasance as Blofeld in 1967's You Only Live twice, Connery's 5TH Bond film. Dr. Kananga/Mr. Big in Live And Let Die was a badass 😁🍸
Thank you for continuing this Bond series, even though you have already reviewed very Bond movie except for No Time To Die. There is so much about the Bond series that can be spoken about, I hope this series goes on for a long time
For me, my favorite henchman is definitely Jaws. For main villains, I think I'd probably go with Scaramanga, mainly cuz of his portrayal by the late great Christopher Lee.
Dude, you nailed it! Grace Jones is absolutely phenomenal, and intimidating as hell in the role. Sanchez is an incredible villain, too. I was always ambivalent regarding License To Kill, but I’ve given it several rewatches recently, and I’ve changed my mind on it completely. Great film!
If you've ever seen the Hammer horror film "The Devil Rides Out" then you know Charles Gray could indeed play an intimidating villain, when the screenplay and director let him. Too bad "Diamonds Are Forever" did not give him a chance to do that.
Most people criticize Savalas's portrayal just for being "too American" and that "he was just playing Kojak again" but I personally like him because of how more realistic and genuine he feels in comparison to all of the other Blofelds. Even Donald Pleasance whom I liked as Blofeld but also personally found his portrayal of the character to be overrated.
The list is pretty on point dude...I would only debate the placing of some of them but overall this is on the money....was obsessed with most James bond movies growing up and always debated these kinds of list with everyone haha love these revisted series 👏
when I first saw robert shaw in "from russia with love", I remember that he didn't spoke a single line of word until he came face to face to sean connery during train fight .. he was great in that role... he was great in "the sting" and "jaws" also .. you should do a "we remember" video on him ..
My top 10 favorite James Bond villains would be: 10 Emilo Largo (Thunderball) 9 Karl Stromberg (The spy who loved me) 8 Ernest Stravo Blofeld (From Russia with love, Thunderball, You only live twice, On her majesty secret service) 7 Francisco Scaramanga (The man with the golden gun) 6 Hugo Drax (Moonraker) 5 Jaws (The spy who loved me, Moonraker) 4 Goldfinger (Goldfinger) 3 Xenia Onatopp (GoldenEye) 2 Franz Sanchez (Licence to kill) 1 Raoul Silva (Skyfall)
What about the Indian prince's henchman in Octopussy? He was pretty intimidating and I was legit scared as a kid when I saw him crush a couple of dice into dust.
I agree that while the Brosnan franchise slowly devolved into action, I will disagree in regards to the Bond Villans/Girls as they were some of cinematic class. Xenia, Wai Lin, Elektra King, Frost and Jinx were some of the most original, and futuristic characters that all gave Bond the slip and were considerably on par as his femme fatale. Xenia who used sex for assassination, whereas Bond does for information, Xenia beat bond at his own game. Sex. King and Frost as well who were able to manipulate Bond's love for women. While Wai Lin and Jinx both were able to conduct their espionage more successful than Bond.
Pierce´s Bond time, was great for women. They were not just some random plot device for the movie to go on. Natalya was a great bondgirl (and personally i think she is the best). rebel, smart and knew how to keep herself alive. Most of the times she does try to do somethings instead of screaming and be annoying like Stacy Sutton. Xenia was just smart and cruel. Probably one of the most ruthless girl of the franchising. While others killed because they need it, Xenia did have some psychotic pleasure killing. She knew how to use sex to get things she need it Wai Lin probably is the most equal to bond. She was resourceful, knew how to get out of bad situations. In fighting she was even more competent that bond itself. Lin even had more control on her emotions, making her ver deadly. Paris Carver was an interesting character (sadly Tery Hatcher performance was weak, and they should had go for Monica Bellucci, like Pierce wanted) Paris resemblences Teresa, in terms of personality. shes strong and knows to survive, sadly when it comes to bond, her love make her vulnerable. I guess that´s why bond did love her. Her death does have consequences in next movies. her death, makes Bond trying to save Elektra and Miranda Elektra is cold and manipulative to a extend of turning everyone for her. The line "no one, can´t resist me" makes her aware of her power over man, and can do everything to them. Elektra is very good finding others weakness and use against them. She does find Renard weakness, a man who aparently had none. Elektra find Bond weakness, which is women. Paris death still haunted James. So, it was easily to play him and win in his game. Even knowing King´s betrayel he did try to save her. She even play her last hand, using her vulnerability "you wouldnt kill me, wouldnt you?" Remind him, she was pawn in a game, and become a queen by necessity and not for evilness. Elektra and bond are very similar. they were betrayed by the ones them love, and had to survive in a deadly game. King, sadly fall in dark path, which Bond, tries so much to avoid. Christmas have the same issue that Paris. In another actress hands, the character would be interessing. Specially because Christmas could easily adapt in dangerous situations. Like Bond, she could be smart and adaptable. She need it to adapt in that male world and not allowing them to diminushing her sexuality. Miranda is one of my favorite villains (together with Elektra, Xenia, Fiona and Severine) not only she is cold, but she can manipulate and use informations at her advantage. If there was any girl that could replace Bond... that would be Miranda. The bad side is that her moral compass is according to her personal agenda. She was a full package and yet despite betraying others, i really like she did fight fair against Jinx. Showing us, that Miranda have a sense of evaluate her opponents and know how go against them. With Bond, she knew she had to betraying him, using the things he cared. Again, Paris and Elektra death, made Bond blind and wanting to protect vulnerable girls. Miranda probably was the villain that almost destroyed Bond... he was in prison for several months in china, she destroyed his career and reputation. Jinx was a interesting character that share Bond cockyness and self steem. (sadly berry wasnt best choice for this character. I know angela Basset was already "old" for the role, but i wanted to see someone like her doing Jinx) she was resourceful like Wai Lin and could keep her ground.
@@cassandramcbride7007 very well rounded review of the Bond Girls. My rule, is if Bond sleeps, she's a Bond Girl, even as a villaness, or femme fatale, the chemistry is there between the characters and Bond during the Brosnan era, as he tried to romance all of them to an extent. I do absolutely agree in terms of Miranda, she certainly was an ice cold killer capable of manipulating the entire game, if she wouldn't have openly betrayed Bond, there was still room for redemption as Frost could've cut out a path of survival, but you cannot out Bond the bond. Now as far a the more recent Bond Girls, I do prefer their tragedy over the futurism portrayed in the last franchise, instead of projecting them as physical equals, there more along the psychological themes that actually resonate with this Bond, as Carver, King, and Frost were perhaps the only women to break Bond's conditioning. You see this the entire time in the Craig franchise as they drop like flies, Craig's Bond began a downward spiral midway through Casino Royale as his interests equally begin to break down, starting with Solange's death on the beach that M uses to "motivate" Bond, Valenka, Le Chiffre's partner equally breaks with Chiffre as their plot begins to falter, and of course Vesper, as the trigger for all of Bond's worst emotions. We still see this in Quantum as Bond's actions leads to the death of Strawberry Field's and prevented Camilla Montez from her assassination attempt, which would've resulted in her death, but it was Bond's recklessness that would save them. Which Bond still fails to see is his undoing as he was unable to save Severine and M. Lastly, the only Bond girl the Craig franchise has saved to date, the only survivor, Lucia Sciarra, Monica Bellucci. She was casted as Bond's direct contrast, like Bond's understanding as he becomes further aware of the underworld of Spectre, Sciarra as well knew her depths as a made woman, as Bond was a made assassin, they were accepting of their ill fate, Sciarra who knew the death of her husband meant hers as well, and Bond who was coming to understand he is a man out if his depth that is alone in his endeavor. It was this mutual understanding that prompted Bond to "secure" the late maiden, ensuring her safety by staying long enough in the night to ensure no more goons would come, allowing Sciarra to safely make it to the American embassy and Felix by the morning. She survived the night by their Bond.
TLD is also one of my favourite movies, right behind Goldeneye probably. And I agree that the villains left something to be desired, especially considering that even a below average movie like A View to a Kill had even 2 great villains and the villains in the 2 movies after TLD were also great. But I wouldn't say that they were terrible. I think they were victims of a bloated plot. Both had great potential but I think they could have removed Whitaker completely (he deserved his own movie, because his concept is very intruiging) and make Koskov the main villain that he already was and give him more screentime. The acting was a bit goofy, which makes him inferior to Orlov for example. But not being great doesn't mean being terrible. Terrible was Charles Gray's performance as Blofeld which destroyed the character, even when I like Gray in general.
Cracking list! I would've given an honourable mention to Elektra King - I think Sophie Maceau did a terrific job in The World is Not Enough. There is a lot of stuff in that film that doesn't age well, but her performance is still great!
Her performance overshadows Denise, to a point we care more for Elektra and wanting her to survive and take the role of the main bondgirl. Even Renard was interesting and well performed by Robert. Sadly they didnt do to much with Renard...
Silva has been my favourite Bond villain (and one of my favourite villains in film) since I first saw the film in 2012. There’s just something about javier’s charm when he’s playing villains that makes them loveable yet so hatable. He was a spectacular villain in my eyes
My Top 10 Main Villains: 1. Alec Trevelyan (Goldeneye). 2. Raoul Silva (Skyfall). 3. Le Chiffre (Casino Royale). 4. Sanchez (Licence to Kill). 5. Blofeld (Telly Savalas) (On Her Majesty's Secret Service). 6. Auric Goldfinger (Goldfinger). 7. Francisco Scaramanga (The Man With The Golden Gun). 8. Elliot Carver (Tomorrow Never Dies). (A controversial and unusual choice but I personally find him to be entertaining in a weird way). 9. Max Zorin (A View to a Kill). (Admittedly a biased choice just because I love Christopher Walken and everything he is in in general). 10. Kananga (Live and Let Die). (RIP Yaphet Kotto). My Top 10 Main Henchmen/women: 1. Xenia Onatopp (Goldeneye). 2. Red Grant (From Russia With Love). 3. Fiona Volpe (Thunderball). 4. Rosa Klebb (From Russia With Love). 5. Oddjob (Goldfinger). 6. Jaws (The Spy Who Loved Me. He sucked in Moonraker). 7. Baron Samedi (Live and Let Die). 8. Dario (Licence to Kill). 9. Mr Hinx (Spectre). 10. Tee Hee (Live and Let Die).
I love both of your top 10 list. I’m glad that put a specific version of Blofeld on your list as opposed to just saying Blofeld in general. For me personally, Telly Savalas’s Blofeld is the best villain in the James Bond franchise. He just has everything that you want in a Bond villain. He has charm and charisma, but he also has a physical size to him while not being cartoonishly giant.
Great list. Gotta say I agree with the many here who rate Sanchez so highly. I find him to be very realistic and always in control, which makes him more scary to me. In many ways that's probably why the main Daylights villains are quite poor... in a quite gritty and realistic movie (relatively), they seem like cartoon characters and lack any real threat.
Big shout out for Barbara Carrera. I found her portrayal of Fatima Blush in Never Say Never Again to be credible, and I got the impression that she was having fun with the role. She was particularly glamorous on her way to the Spectre meeting under the Bank safety deposit boxes. Donald Pleasence casting as Blofeld just seems perfect. Iconic. Especially considering that he only played the role once.
5. TB Fiona Volpe 4. SF Silva 3. YOLT Blofeld 2. TMWTGG Scaramanga 1. FRWL Red Grant - gotta appreciate how Robert Shaw/Lotte Lenya were a mirror universe Daniel Craig/Judi Dench.
I'm not surprised about grace jones not getting on with Roger Moore because let's be honest does grace jones ever get on well with anyone? I've only ever heard how she's one of the hardest people to actually get on with at all, she's so abrasive it's a wonder she gets hired for anything Also I saw someone say this on a James Bond post but we see how LeChiffre has a sort of reluctance when torturing Bond which yeah makes the scene work but could you imagine how differently it would've played out with someone like Xenia Onatopp torturing him? I think men would have their legs crossed permanently after watching the movie if that happened given how much pleasure she gets from causing pain and killing
I agree about Charles Gray, and it was also weird having seen him as a good guy in the previous Connery movie. My own favorite villain is Goldfinger- I *love* that classic line of his. And it's hard to believe that's the same actor in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Runner up is the Goldeneye duo of Sean Bean and Famke Janssen. Then Curt Jurgens: "Good evening, Mr. Bond. I've been expecting you!"
I enjoyed and agree with most of your choices. This was fun to watch. My #2 would have been Blofeld; including the Daniel Craig Blofeld. My number 1 is still Silva, from Skyfall.
In terms of looks, I like Donald's version more, but Telly's version is my favorite overall because he isn't afraid to get physical and actually tried to take out Bond himself on HMSS.
Baron Samedi in Live and Let Die was a pretty cool character, and the movie even gave us Yaphet Kotto, who I did not even recognize later in Alien. D'oh !

Nice nod to Odd Job, the ultimate arch-henchman, but I get why you went with Jaws. I would've put Robert Shaw above Sean Bean though.

It's strange that the 1 exception to Dario Sanchez's priority of Loyalty is his girlfriend Lupe. he has caught her more than once with another man or trying to escape. Why is he so obsessed, or even in LOVE, with Lupe? The film never really shows him having an uncontrollable desire or singular passion for her. Why not replace her with another hot bimbo?

I will say my favorite James Bond villains are 1. JAWS, 2. Donald Pleasence Blofeld 3. Xenia Anatopp 4. Scaramanga 5. Le Shieff 6. The Voo Doo Priest 7. The Claw Henchman from "Live and Let Die" 8. Sean Bean 006 9. Brad Whitaker 10. The Russian General in Octopussy
Shame there is no mention of Fiona Volpe from Thunderball. IMO the best femme fatale of the series, and the only positive highlight in an otherwise dull Bond film.
My favorite of all time is Hugo Drax. "Mr Bond....you continue to defy my attempts to plan an amusing death for you". "You're not a sporting man, Mr Bond. Why did you break up the encounter with my pet python"? After the early meeting, he said to Chow "Look after Mr Bond. See that some harm comes to him". Surely who could forget him clicking the fingers to command the dobermans to eat the meat? Drax is the best villain, but as far as henchmen go, well, it's Jaws first, daylight second.....then Oddjob.

Gents, I concur
Amen! My favourite Bond villain and movie when i was kid. LtK is still in my top 5 of all Bond movies.
With deference to Goldfinger, but Sanchez has my fave quote of all Bond villains when he tells the president "you're only president, for life..."
"A lot of kids were probably afraid of jaws" actually so many kids wrote in to say they wanted jaws to be a good guy that they rewrote moonraker to give him a good ending

Famke Janssen achieved something no other Bond Girl ever did.She was both a baddie and an actress who survived the "curse"going on to X-Men,Hansel&Gretel,The Faculty,Deep Rising,100 Feet, and what should've won her a Golden Globe,Turn The River.Trust me folks,it's excellent.
i liked her part in rounders too even though it was small.

Kamal Khan has some great lines too! :-)

He was too much like the villian in The Spy who loved me, pretty much the same motivation.
"You must excuse me, gentlemen, not being English I sometimes find your sense of humor rather difficult to follow"
For me, the scariest scene in any Bond movie wasn't some villain trying to kill Bond (which you know they can never do); it was when Drax had his huge Dobermans chase his female assistant through the forest to tear her to pieces.
I’m loving your James Bond Revisited videos. Reminded me why I love these films. Thanks!

Some of the best Bond films are the ones where he's mentally jousting with the villain; Robert Davi and Timothy Dalton really deliver. License to Kill is a really underappreciated film and Robert Davi is a ridiculous underappreciated actor.
Davi is amazing in it.
That movie is brutal... even Timothy is a cold SoB in it...love how dark that one is... Davi is definitely Underrated in it As well...
Great list. Sanchez is the perfect Bond villain. Cool, charming, complex and occasionally utterly terrifying.
My personal favourite.
@@angellozanovargas2520 I know right.
Sanchez (Robert Davi) is one of few Main Bond Villains who is younger than James Bond (Timothy Dalton) himself
@@itachi-kun7736 Yaphet Kotto was only 33 years old when cast as Kananga in Live and Let Die while Roger Moore was 45 years old as Bond.
Travelian too.
I agree with this list. Its so great to see a critic talk about James Bond films. Makes me love the franchise a lot more.
Dude, I LOVE all the James Bond stuff you’ve been doing! Thank you for the great content guys!
Glad you like them!
I was stationed next to Richard Kiel and his wife...next to David Hess, Jeffrey Combs, and Pam Greer
Mr. Kiel and his wife were the sweetest people i have had luxury of dining with...Rest in Power
That must have been surreal. I would not have recognized Jeffrey Combs until he spoke, but what a cool story.
And one of the closest to the books.
My favorite of connery's
Suggestions for lists:
- Sexiest Bond girls: Not necessarily the most physically attractive, but the ones who had the most alluring presence and femme fatale vibes.
(It might be equally interesting to do a list of the opposite, the potential Bonds you consider the most ludicrous options.)
- Best supporting roles: There have been a lot of Qs, Ms, Moneypennys, and Felix Leiters over the course of the films, some better than others.

"No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!"
Connery's reaction: Wait. That's illegal.
Great list! Sir Roger is great but yeah Mayday and Zorin are the best bit of the film in AVTAK. Those bad guys in licence to kill were next level antagonists!! Epic movie!
1. Jaws
2. Gustav Graves
3. Xenia Onatopp
4. Kanaga/Mr.Big
5. Max Zorin and Mayday

Great film!
Alec Trevelin was my favorite as a kid. It was probably the first time I ever saw a good guy turn bad in a movie.
If you've ever seen the Hammer horror film "The Devil Rides Out" then you know Charles Gray could indeed play an intimidating villain, when the screenplay and director let him. Too bad "Diamonds Are Forever" did not give him a chance to do that.
Yeah he was poorly served
@@JoBloOriginals Perhaps not. I have a strong hunch that Charles Gray's portrayl as the Criminologist in Rocky Horror is going to be remembered.
Joblo showed James Bond the Fine Art of shaken not stirred.
I prefer Telly Savalas as Blofeld. He was smooth, suave, and was a physical threat to Bond too
Most people criticize Savalas's portrayal just for being "too American" and that "he was just playing Kojak again" but I personally like him because of how more realistic and genuine he feels in comparison to all of the other Blofelds. Even Donald Pleasance whom I liked as Blofeld but also personally found his portrayal of the character to be overrated.
@@Paul91- Pleasance just wasn't in YOLT enough to really make an impression, he has the iconic look/design of the character, but that's about it

She knew how to use sex to get things she need it
Wai Lin probably is the most equal to bond.
Her death does have consequences in next movies. her death, makes Bond trying to save Elektra and Miranda
Elektra is cold and manipulative to a extend of turning everyone for her.
I agree, as a Villain, JAWS was and still is my Favorite!

I love both of your top 10 list. I’m glad that put a specific version of Blofeld on your list as opposed to just saying Blofeld in general.
Agree that Sanchez is one of the more realistic villains
Best villain is original Blofeld.
Best henchman is definitely Jaws..
Completely agree with having 'shadow' Blofeld as the best interpretation of Blofeld.
Telly Savalas I thought was good as Blofeld. Deserved another film.

I've only ever heard how she's one of the hardest people to actually get on with at all, she's so abrasive it's a wonder she gets hired for anything
Also I saw someone say this on a James Bond post but we see how LeChiffre has a sort of reluctance when torturing Bond which yeah makes the scene work but could you imagine how differently it would've played out with someone like Xenia Onatopp torturing him?
Yes JO BLO and James Bond revisited is BAAACK. ❤️👍🏻🙏🏻
Telly Savala's Blofeld is the best version of the character.
Agreed. He also sounds much more like how Blofeld sounded in FRWL and Thunderball minus the accent
He's the most well rounded. Pleasance was just creepy and Gray was a ham.
In terms of looks, I like Donald's version more, but Telly's version is my favorite overall because he isn't afraid to get physical and actually tried to take out Bond himself on HMSS.
He is the weakest, IMO. He isn't weird enough to be Blofeld.
Telly Savalas easily best Blofeld actor
Trevelyan is the best man.. glad he made your top 2

Mads Mikelsen on 10? No, he's the only villain to properly torture Bond instead of putting him in a death machine which doesn't work or using a dumb henchman which gets beaten up...
The Living Daylights my absolute nr. 1 Bond film
Great job!!
1. Kamal Khan
2. Jaws
3. Red Grant
4. Franz Sanchez
5. Blofeld (Donald Pleasence)
6. Scaramanga
7. Goldfinger
8. Xenia Onatopp
9. Alec Trevelyan
10. Le Chiffre
Also Elektra King, Baron Samedi and Karl Stromberg deserve an honorary mention
PS. It was really hard to rate them in any particular order but I have a soft spot for the SUAVE Kamal Khan played by Louis Jourdan
My favourite is Robert Shaw as Red Grant. The fight scene on the train was superb, really viscious. My second favourite is Lotte Lenya as Rosa Klebb.
Excellent list!
Francisco Scaramanga was such a good villain and overshadows bond seeing Count Dooku fight bond was a treat
Hi I recommend an Indie Song called: The Bond Villain by Robert Nix
@@redskies4530 I’ll give it a listen
if donald pleasance wasnt number one i was unsuscribing lol. i will say fiona volpe is my fav hencman or henchwoman should i say.
My top 10 of main villians:
1. Franz Sánchez.
2. Blofeld.
3. Francisco Scaramanga.
4. Silva.
5. Auric Goldfinger.
6. Alec Trivilyan.
7. Hugo Drax.
8. Le chiffre.
9. Elektra King.
10. Max Zorin.
Overlooking the urbane Scaramanga for May Day is my one biggest quibble. Otherwise, I like the way you backed up your choices.
Trevelyan my favorite by far. Goldfinger, Tellys Blofeld, Kananga. Henchmen: Onnatop, Oddjob, Necros.
10. Le chiffe
9. Dr. No
8. Auric Goldfinger
7. Rauol Silva
6. Alex trevelyan
5. Doctor Kananga
4. Ernst stravo blofeld
3. Max zorin
2. Franz Sanchez
1. Francesco scaramanga
All them are good bond villians
Hi I recommend an Indie Song called: The Bond Villain by Robert Nix
I would have been bad if MayDay was not on the list. Love her!
Good List, for me 'Hugo Drax' from Moonraker (my Favorit Bond-Movie) should be on the List as well. But at least you have Jaws on it ;-)
Oh yes and Dr. No I really liked.
Mr.Kidd&Mr.Wint from DAF 1971 worth a mention they were supposed to be a couple too so edgy for the time added more creepiness.
Locque&Kriegler from FYEO 1981 were badass henchmen even though the main villain kinda sucks
Famke janssen man 🔥🔥
Top 10 most memorable bond villains
1. Auric Goldfinger
2. Red Grant
3. Raoul Silva
4. Rosa Klebb
5. Oddjob
6. Jaws (in TSWLM only)
7. Dr. No
8. Xenia Onatopp
9. Franz Sanchez
10. Le Chiffre (CR 2006)
I know this film is not James Bond but it is in the vein of Bond, The film “If Looks Could Kill” starring Richard Grieco. Or you could visit other films that tried to be Bond like or parody Bond, the Flint films, Matt Helm, Austin Powers, Johnny English and Spy Hard Starring Leslie Nielsen.
Oddjob really should’ve gotten his own place in the list separate from Goldfinger.
I will say my favorite James Bond villains are
1. JAWS,
2. Donald Pleasence Blofeld
3. Xenia Anatopp
4. Scaramanga
5. Le Shieff
6. The Voo Doo Priest
7. The Claw Henchman from "Live and Let Die"
8. Sean Bean 006
9. Brad Whitaker
10. The Russian General in Octopussy
Nice
@@JoBloOriginals 😊 Thanks
No Oddjob?
You can't splice Blofeld. Donald Pleasance is Number 1 over Goldfinger
Shame there is no mention of Fiona Volpe from Thunderball. IMO the best femme fatale of the series, and the only positive highlight in an otherwise dull Bond film.
Yep, Fiona Volpe was the first Bond villain to come to mind here.
good list which i agree with
Sean Bean never auditioned for the role of Bond. It was offered directly to Brosnan as he was now out of his Remington Steele contract.
