When I read the title I assumed it was going to be a spore druid, I like the different route you took to satisfy the concept.

Honestly man this is a dope build and I love the idea of building a demon cult army with magic Cordrsepes feels like a perfect blend of D&D and the last of us.

I think Reborn is another great choice for this build, and heck you could even be a Reborn Goblin and the "Knowledge from a Past Life" is your goblin memories breaking through.
But one thing Reborn can do with Hypnotic Gaze is just straight up murder people during periods of long downtime (about 2 days, 3 max). Because you don't need food or water as Reborn, you can't get exhaustion due to starvation or dehydration. Hypnotic Gaze doesn't have a duration. If you were to lure someone into a private area and land your gaze on them, you could just keep them there indefinitely. You'll gain a couple levels of exhaustion from not taking a long rest, but the victim will be getting multiple levels of exhaustion from not taking a long rest, starvation, and dehydration.
Additionally, Hypnotic Gaze has no real per-day limit. You can keep trying on new people until you get one.
It's not the most efficient way of turning someone into a corpse, but it is particularly horrific and you could flavor it as the spores and fungus slowly taking over the person's body. Very much has a sort of Last of Us/Soylent Green/Sweeney Todd feel to it.

Super cool. I love the idea that your character is the one kind controlled. That’s rad.

I had an idea were the goblin for the most part is in control, but zaggmody gives us suggestions the the goblin thinks is theirs; and sometimes like in combat the goblin's personality disappears and a cold efficiency takes over.

Very cool build, seems really fun to play! Also, Zuggtmoy was my favorite demon lord from " Out of the Abyss".

Could be a possible low-level boss for a campaign idea that has been squirming around in the back of my mind.

The Mycelian from Heliana's Guide would make a great race for such a build if the DM allows 3PP

Resident Evil 4 had a lot of information about the 'zombie' fungus.

My main problem with this is having too many spells that fill the same role. Control spells are great. Having 15 control spells can create analysis paralysis. I like having a good mix of control, damage, and utility spells.

Thought of a similar character: red dragon tortle with a spore wand that makes mushroom zombies and can make mushrooms that have different effects ( big, small, extra life, poison, and control ), this character is based on a mix of bowser and the koopalings, in the super Mario bros games the koopalings have a magic wand each that has a different effect, this wand has fungus magic. I’d add some homebrew that makes its breath weapon lava instead of fire, zombies would be plants instead of undead, the 1up mushrooms wouldn’t bring it back to full hp, instead it’ll be a d6 x Con mod or something per 1up mushroom. I’m not that good at homebrew.

Lmao. Brah. With the symbiote fungus. As you described at the start of video. And it takes over the nervous system. I would have gone with Verdan for the race.
For rp value with the limited telepathy... the fungus speaks with the mouth. But the characters origin personality speaks to the PC's mind.
Have fun with that. Lol as you see fit.
And 5th level. You grow 2 feet, and mushrooms grow. So.....
Blackwood healing would add to the disturbing way of healing etc etc.

I've had a "zombie" parasite build character chilling for a while waiting for a chance to play them. Curious to see the similarities and differences!
For anyone interested I guess I can write down the character idea below (build wise I'd wanna be flexible depending on the story)
So it's a pretty simple set up, with a dwarf lady who's part of some type of crew, maybe they're a merc company, might be like local legends type level 7 party vibes. But due to some "unfortunate" circumstances the dwarf lady gets stuck in an underground cave, no light, no food. Eventually she comes upon some fungi and starved, and barely conscious SOMETHING get eaten. From whatever happens emerge the actual character; A fungi "warforged" (really more of an awakened fungi) that feeds off of human essence. As the dwarf lady is the original and prime host memories and physical attributes are to some degree shared. Even the fungi doesn't really fully know what exactly happened or WHAT they really are, "Am I the dwarf with a co-host or is the dwarf simple food?". That's basically the plot hook, with lots of open ends for the DM to use and brew whatever they want out of, if f.ex. they went with Zuggtmoy as part of how the fungi character came to be that could work. It could be a wizard doing wizard shit, lich experiments, perhaps it's simply a species that live and reproduce by inhabiting people and the character hasn't realized that yet etc.
Build: Wisdom and Const for our highest, then Dex and charisma, dump strength and charisma
Though I am flexible on the build I know I want to go the spore druid route, however with how the character story can go a lot of ways I'd probably want it to reflect that as well depending upon the story (but with atleast 10 levels into druid).
Zuggtmoy origin: Dip into warlock, probably Undead for some silly double alternate form, though I could see hexblade as well
Host origin: Maybe I unlock more of the host memories and background leading me to utilize whatever they were before, fighter? ranger? rogue?
    Natural species: Full druid
Magical accident: Maybe it was a random magical circumstance, throw some wild magic into the mix
Experiment: Maybe I reunite with my creator and learn some wizardry stuff, necromancy obviously
