I really want to thank Brian for all this R&D. For about 20 years now you have been one of the best sources of Honda information anywhere. You constantly push forward with the aftermarket and keep the Honda swaps possible for the masses. And in turn keep the the car scene alive. Thank you BRIAN!!!!!!
Ill probably never k-swap a car, but I will keep watching these videos to help support the channel. Im thankful to have pioneers out there to help push car modification further.
So you did swaps to impress other people? Weird. The best feeling for me was doubling my hp, gaining another gear, having evenly spaced gear ratios, and the feeling that I accomplished something that I wasn't sure that I could accomplish. It turned out that having enough money to do things the way that I wanted to do them was the only barrier that I faced.
I’m currently swapping in an 07 k20z4 into a Toyota Spyder/mr-s but really struggling on finding a pin out for the body to engine loom! I’m still hoping one day you will make a set of mounts as the ones out there are junk
@@knowsnothing7 I am getting close to the first start of the engine now! Still a few wires I’m unsure of but I think I have it connected enough to run.
@VTECAcademy I would love to see a J-series swaps on the 8/9gens civics AND Also in the CRVs/Elements but with the automatic transmission God knows those can really, really take advantage of those specially the Element community
This video was so therapeutic to watch! Reminds me of the old days with my brothers, swapping parts from other GM and ford cars just to run up and down the streets. Not gonna lie, a j swap 8th gen kit would sweet to see, it would definitely give me and the hubby a reason to buy one and attempt a j37a2 and 6mt
Someone local to me did a turbo-on-r18 setup. He shown me some vids and it seems to be an SI killer. Stock everything oddly enough too. He said it was like $3k or 4k
I'm loving all these builds. Now to hit you with the real question. I'm planning On buying a ford transit connect and I know someone has done this, but I'm having issues trying to find it on the internet, but I would like to do a kswap in the connect. Do you see yourself doing something like that in the future?
I was curious on your input when it comes to k20a with a k20z3 head is it doable, and if so is there anything particular I need to pay attention to like oil or timing related . Thanks in advance
@VTECAcademy with that being said; I'm picking up an '05 engine this weekend. Lower mileage and it's been properly maintained. In your opinion is $600 a good enough price? It'd be a spare/builder engine. I bought the 6mt trans & based off how clean it was internally, I figured the engine would be a good base.
Why didn’t you j swap it man :( i really wanted to see it with j35 to see how itd end up, thee only turn off for me it was really hard to reach the spark coils. Is there any solution for that
Can anyone tell me Why When I try to shift into first does it take so long to feel like it engages or actually gets into that gear and It feel like I have no power when I’m in 6th and try to accelerate

WE all keep it alive. Let's keep having fun!
This is becoming an interesting swap because most of the 8th gen civic si are wrecked

Thanks for the support, you can always learn something new, even if you never do it yourself.
Growing up doing engine swapping was fun. The best feeling of showing up to a meet and popping your hood with a different swap engine.

i hear you have been working on a L15 Fit, when will we see some footage of that? you guys always do amazing work.

A J series is gonna be nuts!
Definitely taken notes to swap my 8thgen
I did that same exact swap cause of your first videos, thank you!
There is so much gold packed into a seemingly mundane project. Rich, RICH with knowledge
Long time viewer
First time caller.😂
Small request, could you make your hardware in your kits factory faster sizes, 10mm 12mm 14mm 17mm 19mm please
It is difficult and expensive to find the JIS hardware in the US, but we are working on it.
@VTECAcademy oh that would be the BEST!! I'd pay extra for proper hardware.

Im very interested in the 8th gen civic hybrid k swap. Can’t wait for that. 😅

J series for sure
J is the way 💪🏽
I've owned my 06 coupe for over a year now and I'm debating slapping a turbo on the R18 or going K-Swap. Big decisions to make haha.
Someone local to me did a turbo-on-r18 setup. He shown me some vids and it seems to be an SI killer. Stock everything oddly enough too. He said it was like $3k or 4k
Im waiting for the day you make a manual swap on 2008 honda accord sedan ✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾✌🏾 nice video
Would love to see j swap next
The ending of the video was very funny.😂

I would love to see you start the hybrid k swap project because i wanna swap my hybrid so bad
Let’s see the k20c mounts
1:25:45 what a jerk, I would never let him work with us if he’s responsible for letting the dogs out
I would love to see a k24a from an 08-11 accord type-s.
I think a k20c would be better as it’s a type r swap so it would make sense to the 8th gen community ; if you do it I’d end up swapping to that lol
That's what she said 😂 47:54
We had to! LOL
Great video. I vote L15 next
Wish you made a front mount for the 07 si Fg2.
I did an 08 accord k24a swap. I emailed you about it. Wish you made mounts for that swap.
what engine did it come with ? did your ty TSX mounts ?
@@stevardm2694I use modified stock accord mounts and put a 6 speed lsd in the accord trans case.
@@stevardm2694and had to use the k24a bell housing.
Nice, how a about 3rd gen hatchback with L15 and make a lightweight car?
I was curious on your input when it comes to k20a with a k20z3 head is it doable, and if so is there anything particular I need to pay attention to like oil or timing related . Thanks in advance
Drop the k24 in an FL chassis they only get like an L15
Would OEM mounts from a si fit?
Which year is the best for k24a2 with type s oil pump

No brackets were hurt in the making of this video
Brian didnt you already do this?
Appears to be a master video?
I got the same car same engine same color but its a sedan how much did it cost you to K swap it?
estimated cost for whole swap?
Im confused. The stock 8th gen si mounts don't work?
No because his using the stock R18 subframe and made mounts to fit that subframe.
Can anyone tell me Why When I try to shift into first does it take so long to feel like it engages or actually gets into that gear and It feel like I have no power when I’m in 6th and try to accelerate
It kinda sounds like it's time for a new clutch
J series. Immeadiately
K20C
That's a lot of bolt holes lol
h22
Why not K24 way more power and way more options for power adders the K20 motor is kind of dead in my opinion
you don’t know sh you’re talking about.
Who’s taking a shower in the background?
At that point. Why not just buy a rsx, tsx, or Honda accord?
'Cause they're completely different cars.
@ I’m saying those generation of civic is the ugliest one out there. Just save your money and get a car with a k24 already in it
@@BETTALIFE101 To you it's ugly.
There is no rhyme or reason for modifying cars. We just do it because it's fun and to have something that not everyone can have.

I wanted to see j series mounts for crz 🫠 maybe dreaming too much
what happened with the J swap? If you guys need help with 8th civic canbus I can help
